Everything he does he explains it beforehand, checking X-rays in so much detail, not overdoing the adjustments ...which doesn't help with the RUclips views cuz 99.9% of ppl here just want to see Chripractors yanking the life out of every single patient. This is your best reaction video so far!!! I love it. Thank you for demonstrating the difference between Gonstead and other adjustments. I have been going to a Gonstead practitioner for almost six months, and he has done wonders for my back (compressed L5, plus I have an extra L and spurs from my upper thoracic to my upper lumbar). My sessions look similar to Rahim’s, but mine are also a bit different. I do not gown. My chiro said it’s because I always dress (stretchy top) appropriately. My typical session is the nerve scope, consultation on x-rays, cervical adjustment, and lumbar adjustment (or sacroiliac as needed). He does nothing with extremeties. Rahim always does shoulders, fingers, frequently ankles, etc. My chiro is strictly a back and neck man-at least with me. My chiro put me on the knee-chest table a few times, and yes, it is an intense adjustment. He no longer uses it on me because he thinks my back doesn’t like it-whatever that means. He is always concerned about what he calls “bullying” me. I think it’s because I’m 70 years old.
    My chiro gave me a one-hour session initially. Before touching me, he did the full spine x-ray that he uses at every adjustment. Successive sessions have been the typical five or so minutes-not the half-hour to 45 minute sessions you see with Rahim. My chiro does not charge at Rahim’s rates either. He charges probably one-tenth Rahim’s rates. That said, I assure you my chiro has worked wonders with my back and has given me my life back. He has been practicing many years and is very dedicated to his patients - just like Rahim.
    Even though Rahim receives patients from all over the world for treatment, for most people he is out of reach; however, help is available. You can look for Gonstead practitioners via your favorite internet search engine and also by going to the Gonstead Society’s website. For me, Gonstead practitioners are my exclusive choice.
    I have a question for Dr Roberts: you think so highly of Gonstead, were trained in it, etc. I take it you do not currently practice Gonstead. Why is that?
    Thanks again for this video. You did a great job annotating it, and I am sure your audience learned a lot!!!

    • @nashvilleneckback
      @nashvilleneckback  2 месяца назад +2

      Dr. Rahim has nearly 2M subs. I'm sure his office is super busy. When you're at that level you can pretty much charge whatever you want for your time.
      I won't go into super detailed explanation here because I think it would 1) take forever, and 2) be better suited for a video....but I basically just wasn't around other Gonstead docs once I got out of school. I had no one to further my expertise in that technique so I gradually transitioned to what other docs were doing that I was working with, and that was Diversified.

      @@nashvilleneckback thanks for responding to my comment. Please know I am not criticizing Rahim’s fee schedule. I recognize and accept that he can charge what he wishes. After all, we are in the United States. I just know that he is out of reach, both geographically and financially, for most people; therefore, I wanted folks to understand that great, attainable Gonstead practitioners are in ChiroLand.

I thank you for your authentic respect for the gonstead technique. We are in a smaller population but see 750- 1500 new patients a yr. With no practice management or advertising. Just referrals. That we never ask for.

    That definitely wasn’t boring, I found it really interesting. I’ve only ever been to one chiropractor my whole life, so I’m just used to how he does things. I’ve never heard anyone explain in depth differences in technique or what they’re going for. Super interesting. Some of these chiropractic channels are laughable and bizarre, but some look very interesting.

In the beginning he demonstrated that the nose was stuffier on one side and after the procedure he demonstrated with a Cottle maneuver that nasal breathing was better. The Cottle maneuver (spreading the nostrils larger) will improve almost anyone's nasal breathing. People - if you have nose problems, please go and see an ent doctor and not a chiropractor!

    To be honest, that was a careless decision by Ian to do that and upload it to the net knowing that there would be a big backlash to it. I blame him for that, he should have known better. When I saw it quite a few years ago, I myself didn't agree with it because I personally don't think that a child that young needs that type of treatment. Due to the under development of the baby's body, you are taking a big risk at something going wrong regardless if you are a pro or consider yourself a pro or not. I had liked his channel up until that video

      Some surgeon docs are very conservative and do not like competition. I see it like this, there are several levels of help for misaligned bones, first you see if physiotherapy excersise techniques help (the bouncy ball is one of them). If you are too stuck then Chiro is used to force putting bones to their place and only if that cannot help anymore like if the adjustments don't hold due to being stuck too long or other reasons, an operation might help but often break more than it fixes. People often don't take in mind that operating always leave damage to the body and the surgeon has to consider the healing/damage ratio and work from there.

    Could you watch some of Ciprianos videos with commentary? I used to like his videos, but he does the same adjustments on every patient, in the exact same order everytime, no matter what their problem areas they have. He uses so much force on neck adjustments and the way he uses the y-strap seems extreme too. Patients talk in the beginning, but other then that, its minimal communication. I never feel like the patients are his #1 priority anymore. Am I being too harsh with my opinion on his practice?
