      @nashvilleneckback First and foremost I just want to say that I have been loving the videos & am a happy subscriber! I just wanted to run something by you. I do understand that you may only be able to provide so much info, but anything is greatly appreciated! I have been having a lot of neck an back pain and have been wanting to schedule an apt with a chiroprator but I have noticed that I have what feels like a possible cyst to the left on my spine in my lower back. I am not certain but am leaning towards maybe a cyst bc I can feel it move slightly when I attempt to move it around. This is not something that is on the outside of the skin nor can it be seen when you look at my back. I do plan to see a physician about this but was wondering if I should stear clear from chiropractor until then or if there is any harm that can be done when possibly attempting an adjustment if I was to see one . Again, any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

      She is one of the first chiropractors I started watching on RUclips. Her early videos were very in-depth and introduced me to scraping (Gua Sha)! Gua Sha is a legitimate Eastern medicine practice and works wonders! She is also highly intelligent, graduating high school at like 16, and went to Palmer chiropractic school while raising a newborn, who is now her video operator! She is also very much about maintaining her posture while working on patients! Many times, the postures are more eye-catching than her outfits that she wears!

    The scraping is called gua sha. It originated in Chinese medicine hundreds of years ago and has been adopted and slightly changed by the west over the years. I could be wrong on this part but I believe the main goal is to help ‘clean out’ the lymphatic system and fluid and increase blood flow to those spots. I’ve only ever had it done once on a really small part of my inner hip as a part of PT so I can’t really say if it’s effective or not

    • @TheAutumnWind_RN4L
      @TheAutumnWind_RN4L 6 месяцев назад +4

      I use it on my wife's plantar fasciitis and my own rotator cuff issues. The scraping does a number of things. It breaks superficial blood vessels, which causes petechiae (the bruising). This is a controlled inflammatory response with the goal of bringing fresh blood to the area. It also breaks up fibrous adhesions (haphazardly laid scar tissue/knots) in the muscle belly as well as in the fascia. Those knots and adhesions are the culprit for most tears in the connective tissue at the site of origins and insertions because knots and scars in the muscle belly, along with crinkled up fascia shortens the muscle and pulls against ligaments and tendons during activity.

    Chronic pain patient here for over 13 years. I have CIDP, RA,Fibromyalgia, Interstitial Cystitis, spinal stenosis, several ruptured discs in my spine, osteopenia in my hips, and dysautonomia. I have horrible “coat hanger” pain because I don’t get enough blood flow to certain areas of my body like my back. In the last 4 years I started getting massages that include scraping, cupping, and deep tissue massage. It has changed my life. It helps me manage my chronic pain. I go once every two weeks for 30 minutes to an hour, we work on my problem areas and I feel like a brand new person every time. I would love to see a chiropractor but unfortunately I can’t afford one. I don’t know what I would do without the massages that I get. It really should be something covered by insurance to help manage peoples chronic pain. It has made such a positive impact on my quality of life. I tell my massage therapist to flatten me out like a pancake and I swear I am 3 inches taller by the end of the session. I truly believe in the power of scraping, cupping, and Myofascial release.

      @chelscidpfighter5980 I have been wondering if deep tissue massages would work for me. I live in chronic pain as well. I have rheumatoid arthritis and lupus along with fibromyalgia. I know my disease has progressed due to me having more trouble walking and my hands but I really want to try massages. Chiropractic adjustments didn't work for me in the slightest. It would trigger flare ups for a week after I was seen. I did love the decompression machine they had though. But it is very expensive and that was another thing that didn't work for me. Now I have no insurance so I am very limited to the things I can get.
      I really hope that the Chiropractor works for you. That would make a world of difference along with your massages. I know we get desperate to try anything to just make the pain subside a little more. Take care and I hope you are doing well ❤❤❤.

    I watch her vids as a sleep aid. And have been doing so for years at this point. Main reason I can watch her content is because it's not creepy. Yeah she herself will put on some tight pants but usually her patients come in every shape size and color and are never exploited for sex appeal. And the comments are waaaaaaay different than what you will see in some of the creep chiro videos. Not a men of culture comment in sight most of the time.
    The scrapping stuff, gua sha, is more akin to the typical gua sha which leaves lots of bruising. It's popular now as a sort of face slimming technique but Mondragon has been doing it way before it became popular. It's gua sha but I guess she calls it mayofascial release where the idea is the break up scar tissue under the skin to promote blood flow and healing. No idea if that's legit but most people say it does not hurt at all despite how it looks.
    She has two brothers thar also do similar type of non cringe work. Her daughter who is in school to be a chiropractor films these videos and has been doing so since high school so your really not going to find anything super cringe and questionable.
    The patients are real people who consent to being recorded and get these free sessions.
    If you want to see something crazy check out Doug Willen House of Chiro. He does this thing where he stuffs a Ballon up your nose, inflates it in order to crack your skull. Looks extremely painful and I can't fathom how it could be good for you to do that.

      @@tyrellesmith9265 I think you are overcomplicating your mindset on the whole animal adjustments, most animals don't lie and are very to the point, unless it's a house pet that is doing something very specific due to the relationship with the family, other then this if an animal starts struggling to do something, it's obviously because something is up, and if they get massaged and adjusted, and then they can do things way better, then clearly these things worked, almost all animals don't give a damn about lying, they aren't as psychologically broken as we are, so it's a safe bet to take their behaviour at face value :')

    To me the best way to think of how it works is when you put a screen protector on your phone and you have to work the bubbles out. I've had scraping done a couple times by a massage therapist. I had to get surgery for a broken knee cap and torn LCL and MCL. After 5 years it started hurting again so much I thought I'd have to go back to the ortho. The scraping wasn't very comfortable or the most pleasant thing I've had done while working on it, but it felt so much better when finished (maybe adrenaline?). She also did some of my back and neck and when we finished I looked like I had been dragged a quarter mile behind a motorcycle, but it was more like a hickey than a bruise and faded fairly fast. Result wise I would much rather do scraping than cupping.

    Scraping, Gua Sha, Graston, and IASTM are great. Different tools are used for the various disciplines, but the concept is the same in my opinion. I have introduced it to two of my massage therapists. The general idea is to break up the fascia so that the muscles can move more fluidly. Generally, it doesn't hurt unless you are working on the thinner muscles like side of the calves.
