The deep plane not only goes under the smas but releases the ligaments . That is essential - to release tension . When releasing the ligaments you can reposition the SMAS easily without that pulled look that lateral SMAS lifts give

I am a man so hair length is usually shorter. For your skin closure, is it better for me to have buzzed short hair or longer? What length of hair makes it easier for you to do the closure for lateral facelift? I am not talking about hiding the scar with hair, I am referring to the ease of the surgeon be able to close the incision .
I have been recommended SMAS (I mostly have jowling) but am wondering if deep plane would give a tighter, longer-lasting result. I'm only in my 40s but I'm not sure which one would yield the best result. Do you have any thoughts on SMAS vs. deep plane and whether deep plane can always yield a tighter result?

Does a mini facelift include a necklift? How long does a mini facelift last? Is there a risk of injury to the nerve with a SMAS lift?

There is no change in difficulty in skin closure. I do tailor the incision so that it hides a little differently in a male.

My man is surgeon. He said deep plane lifting is better , more effective, nicer and last longer .
