@@christschinwon In a small way you're right. The twin harmonies perfected by Smith and Murray were gone and Gers is utter rubbish, I'm sorry....He is even terrible to look at live. But the main thing was Harris going into depression. I couldn´t say for sure he needed help as such, but you can tell; even with Fear of the dark, it just got very dark and gloomy. Lyrics, music, the lot. With the X-factor it was then all too evident. There's even a suicide song in there. And the restrictions with Bayley on vocals were the last straw...He was terrible. And no ! I am not comparing him, nor his range or none of that. He is plain terrible, period ! I wish they could have been able to sack Gers with the return of Smith and be great again...But after a brilliant Brave new world......It's like a nightmare. We're just happy they're still with us but my God they've pulled some ugly ones ever since

The myth of Daedalus and Icarus is one of the most known and fascinating Greek Myths, as it consists of both historical and mythical details.
While in Crete Daedalus created the plan for the Minoan Palace of Knossos, one of the most important archaeological sites in Crete and Greece today. It was a magnificent architectural design and building, of 1,300 rooms, decorated with stunning frescoes and artifacts, saved until today. The sculpture of Ariadne in Knossos and many others in Elounda and Karia are also his.
King Minos and Daedalus had great understanding at first, but their relationships started deteriorating at some point; there are several versions explaining this sudden change, although the most common one is that Daedalus was the one who advised Princess Ariadne to give Theseus the thread that helped him come out from the infamous Labyrinth, after killing the Minotaur.
The Labyrinth was a maze built by Daedalus; King Minos wanted a building suitable to imprison the mythical monster Minotaur, and according to the myth, he used to imprison his enemies in the labyrinth, making sure that they would be killed by the monster.
Minos was infuriated when found out about the betrayal and imprisoned Daedalus and his son Icarus in the Labyrinth.
The flight of Daedalus and Icarus
daedalus and icarus with wax wingsIcarus was the young son of Daedalus and Nafsicrate, one of King Minos’ servants. Daedalus was way too smart and inventive, thus, he started thinking how he and Icarus would escape the Labyrinth. Knowing that his architectural creation was too complicated, he figured out that they could not come out on foot. He also knew that the shores of Crete were perfectly guarded, thus, they would not be able to escape by sea either. The only way left was the air.
Daedalus managed to create gigantic wings, using branches of osier and connected them with wax. He taught Icarus how to fly, but told him to keep away from the sun because the heat would make the wax melt, destroying the wings.
Daedalus and Icarus managed to escape the Labyrinth and flew to the sky, free. The flight of Daedalus and Icarus was the first time that man managed to fight the laws of nature and beat gravity.
    Icarus death
Although he was warned, Icarus was too young and too enthusiastic about flying. He got excited by the thrill of flying and carried away by the amazing feeling of freedom and started flying high to salute the sun, diving low to the sea, and then up high again.
His father Daedalus was trying in vain to make young Icarus to understand that his behavior was dangerous, and Icarus soon saw his wings melting.
Icarus fell into the sea and drowned. The Icarian Sea, where he fell, was named after him and there is also a nearby small island called Icaria.

The Minotaur represented the theoastrologic era of Tauras the bull. When that age was over, those that killed the bull such as Perseus, Mithras, or Moses destroying the golden calf (again a symbol of Tauras) gained supremacy for the next astrological epoch, that of Aries the war god.

As the sun breaks, above the ground,
An old man stands on the hill,
As the ground warms, to the first rays of light
    A birdsong shatters the still.
    His eyes are ablazed,
See the madman in his gaze.
Fly, on your way, like an eagle,
Fly as high as the sun,
On your way, like an eagle,
    Fly touch the sun.
Now the crowd breaks and a young boy appears
Looks the old man in the eye
As he spreads his wings and shouts at the crowd
In the name of God my father I fly.
    His eyes seem so glazed
As he flies on the wings of a dream,
Now he knows his father betrayed
Now his wings turn to ashes to ashes his grave.
Fly, on your way, like an eagle,
Fly as high as the sun,
On your way, like an eagle,
    Fly touch the sun!♫

Once upon a time, Icarus and his father Daidalus went to Creta a southern island of Greece, there they helped king Minoas with building him the labirynth. After this king Minoas imprisoned them in a cave on a rock 100m high. After days they decided to escape but falling in the sea is very dangerous then a seagull appeared and one of his feathers drooped on the feet of Daidalus then he understand that he and his son must not swim but fly across the sea. After weeks they constructed their wings with fallen feathers and melten candles and then they fell of the cliff and flyied Daidalus told to his son not to fly very low because the sea will wet his wings and those will be heavy and then he will fall to the sea, also he told him not to fly very high because the sunwill melt the candles and he will fal in the sea. After some journey flying Icarus decided to fly higher because he wanted to touch the sun but the sun melted his wings and he falled in sea his father searched for him upon the sea when his son had fell but he couldnt found him, the dea that Icarus has fallen has named the Icariam Sea and from there Icarus spirit can continue his Flight Of Icarus

See the madman in his gaze
Fly on your way, like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your way, like an eagle
    Fly, touch the sun, yeah
Now the crowd breaks and a young boy appears
Looks the old man in the eye
As he spreads his wings and shouts at the crowd
In the name of God my father, I fly
    His eyes seem so glazed
As he flies on the wings of a dream
Now he knows his father betrayed
Now his wings turn to ashes, to ashes his grave
Fly on your way like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun

This what a band of professional rockers sounds like. Not all doped up and strung out. They took their craft seriously. Sure, they enjoyed an occasional pint, but nothing like what their contemporaries were doing. Flight of Icarus is their best song because they slowed down the tempo just a bit and really made the melody and lyrics accessible. And those lyrics...genius.
