Plenty of tank pads for these gen 3’s! BMW nice but after care a big issue on them KTM for instance even after years and years the engine will still look brand new, heard bmw sub frame has issues too! One bad thing with superduke is water! Watch your switch gear, also problems from factory is the steering dampener at 100mph+ with head wobble, and the header clamps coming loose especially on the front and hitting the rad which leads to a punctured rad!
My riding buddie was almost sold to buy a BMW s1000r, switching from the fabulous z900. After 250+ km of testing and constant nagging from me as his devil on shoulder we both found the bmw to be good, very fast but...kinda boring. You want charakter, i asked? Go for a 2-banger, what about this KTM. Another long testride-day later he was sold on the super Duke. And i get to drive it too, hihi
I have the black one, has matt finish plastics and gloss tank, which is better.

Good to know!
thinking about changing my 890R to a superduke, seems like a nice and balanced bike.
Brilliant all-rounder.

Fair point. The BMW certainly has less character.
Depends what you're looking for.
