More from Ely: @elylassman
In ancient Greece, the birthplace of Western philosophy, thinkers such as Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, and the Stoics sought wisdom to understand reality, think clearly, achieve happiness, and govern society-just as we do today, and for the same reason: Such knowledge is a basic requirement for human flourishing. Ely Lassman will survey powerful ideas from several Greek philosophers, focusing on timeless principles for good living, and suggesting helpful resources for further exploration.

Great lecture, thank you!
Al igual que los antiguos filósofos que menciona esta tomado de nuevo el papel de transmitir al igual que ellos a través de Level Up las largas platicas dignificantes, solo que a través de los teatros modernos como el vídeo.
On a daily basis, I run into the Greeks. Just yesterday I ran into a Zeno's paradox and the implications of that on the thing I was working on. Daily, something from the Timeaus or symposium or whatever.
Besides the obvious mention of Aristotle I find Parmenides to be ever relevant. The notion of "nothingness" as a kind of existence keeps popping up. Like the other day when I asked my girlfriend what she was thinking about and she answered "nothing". Like that's possible!
