- After an immense 6 month tour of several countries in Europe, this week sees us return to the UK. After a meetup with our Bulgarian friends and a quick visit to Ideal Homes Bulgaria in VT in order to sign some paperwork for our recent house purchase and also our Visa D application, we set off on a long trek in order to surprise our parents, who weren't expecting us on home ground so soon.
The return was prompted by the fact that we had to apply for our Visas via the Bulgarian embassy in the UK so that we could start the exciting new direction our lives were taking.

That was certainly an interesting journey back to the UK. Poor Oliver having to stay in the kennel on the ferry coming back, but rules are rules; I bet you were (and he was) glad to get out of there lol. So we now await the Bulgaria homestead uploads! Probably won't get chance to see ya before you head back..I'd cry so maybe just as well. Much, much love to you trio xxxxx

It was quite a haul...46.5 hours after jumping into the van in VT Bulgaria to reaching the ferry terminal in Rotterdam..lol 😊 After 6 months of driving on the right hand side, it was scarily comforting to be on that side over here...lol 😂 Safe travels to you guys..hope you're enjoying the sunshine.!! 😁🙏💜

Your video just popped up. I am surprised your cat adapted to travelling. Cats don't like change. I was in Bulgaria and found the language barrier quite difficult. Do more people speak English now?
Hi 👋😊 Oliver just took to it completely..he seems to adapt very well to all of his surroundings..if you watch earlier videos, he comes for walks with us a fair bit, no harness, no lead..he's a brilliant cat for vanlife.
I would say perhaps younger people or ones who work at beach resorts may know English, but most folk that we've met, we've had to resort to phones for translation.. We're hoping to learn enough words that we don't HAVE to rely on phones so much.. 🤷🏻♂️

We run 245/75-16 on Lilla..about the maximum you can run without spacers..
Our Visas have taken months but we will have them soon.. 🤞😊👍❤️

Our wait is for the Visa D..where you take your paperwork in, wait until there's a yes or no, then go back and pick up the Visa D 🤷🏻♂️ we've been weeks beyond the 45 days maximum, but have heard we're okay now 😊👍

That was an epic drive, did you have any issues getting vignettes, I take it Lilla is under 3.5t so didn't need a go box in Austria? Hopefully you'll hear soon about Visas👍.
It was quite a drive looking back, Phil..didn't feel like a grind tho, so that's good 👍
Lilla is NOW 3.5ton..she wasn't and we fell foul of that in Hungary as we zipped through it over a few hours on a 3.5ton vignette..lol 🫣 £69 fine including the admin fees.. 🤷🏻♂️ we've reduced her now as it makes European travel easier 👍
Oh and I guess we snuck through Austria too then..OMG..bloomin rebels.. 😮😂😹😂 Karen was handling vignettes as I drove..only buying them as we knew we'd be heading into each country..not heard of a go box.. 🤔

What was the display on the windscreen at Karens mums? Said 12. Something? Bet it was a long drag back!! You keeping the van or going to change it for a car for when you return to Bulgaria?
That's a heads up display I use, Mark..saves me looking away from the screen and it's also easy to change from mph over to kmh, which is a bonus 😁👍
It was showing voltage, although it needs setting up for that properly.
Long haul, yes..about 2,500km in 46.5 hours..didn't feel too bad though 👍
Still to be decided on Lilla..it all depends on whether we have to pay the 30% import tax or not.. we'll cross that bridge when we come to it 😉👍
