It's bc his 18 inch sub is requires soo much space for a box n he only has 9 cubes that's better for a 15 inch sub he'd prolly he louder if he used 15s instead of that big ass 18... just my opinion 🤷

With that amount of power you can achieve around 160 fairly easy. If your limited to that 1 driver you should get 156-158 for short duration.. rotate the box firing up..and measure again.fire to the rear with 6-8 inches behind it...
Loading off of the roof or trunk will lower the score not raise it, that only works to a certian extent, on lower powered systems. Once you get above a certain db its counter active
@Hayawasa haha. I worked for rockford fosgate in the 80s..I built the punch 45 amps by hand and repaired for foagate.. in 2008 my shop competed in meca db5 category and won world record first try and I did that with stock alt and 20 batteries. My window tinter got a 150 with 4 8s.
@@davidstevens7809 yeah me too buddy. But realistically, like in 2024 , you wouldnt use a high excursion subwoofer like in the video to obtain 160 db at 70 something hz like you say you did back in the day. Nobody cares about anything over 40 hz nowadays because its all been said and done very easily along time ago. I was around back then as well , and all we had was high sensitivity low xmax subs that looks more like dj speakers now. I mean your right that its easy to do 160 with that power but not at the hz he is tuned to.
@Hayawasa well the high freq (70 hz) has 2 benefits.. as you raise the freq you lower the excursion at any given voltage..with that said a driver will handle more power and still be within the xmax limitations of the driver. Another benefit is wavelength distance . As you raise the freq the wavelength is shorter. A 40hz wave length is 49 feet.. yup 1/4 wavelength is 7 feet.. so you can hit the mic with more force. My shops truck has 4 crossfire 15s on a 16k crossfire amp.. im thinking it hits 162 maybe.. dont know details.. im not involved.. I know for daily driving its tuned at 28hz..but for the shows it has shorter port length. And i think he reduces the b+ voltage..
@davidstevens7809 right. The advantage that makes it easier to be louder isnt as much to do with wavelength as it does impedance rise. If you play at 40 and up your amplifier most likely puts out its rated power, but in the mid 30s and below your only clamping a little over a third of the amps power. Somewhere around 7300 to 7600 on a 20k amplifier, with the amp seeing its 1ohm resting impedance from the subs . Even a half ohm stable or quarter ohm stable amp will not send its rated power at those frequencies because the voice coil is moving in and out so far . It creates impedance rise like you see on any impedance vs hz chart on just about every subwoofer made .
I don't understand much spoken English, the amp is 15 kW and the sub 5k, but if I understood correctly the sub takes 15k there? If yes, how is this possible?

No different then the air the amps fans are pushing through the amp. I'm sure it's better than no air flow at all. The air is still cooler then the amp even though they're both warm
I'm pretty sure that was a wall, no wall like this car is a different class... So it's completely reasonable for this to be the loudest no wall single sub system.
Dude someone needs to tell that dude if he's looking for low lows ya can't use a fkn full bridge taramps sorry to say but it's truly that fkn simple. The taramps rolls off starting at 50hz its pretty minor well until 30hz then every single taramps takes a fkn Michael Phelps dive lmffao I'm so dead serious ummm ya you can see this proven on emf audio channel. Don't go talking shit until you watch the proof n shit frfr

Download the loudspeaker cookbook learn Hoffmann Iron law or mr Theil and mr Small are and what developments they created for the audio industry. God I so want to explain in more depth but mr just add a dsp lol isn't gonna get what a true 0db recording test disc is. Eq it bass boost it dsp it ahhhh fk it yup whatever works I mean fk ever knowing what a high end extreme quality amp can do because even with the best dsp the problem is you'll fkn clip n muddy up those extreme lows that the d/a converter in taramps can't effectively produce smfh I'd bet it hasn't shit to do with what their designed for or not designed for smfh it's like I ready said if it weren't for actually witnessing the difference myself I'd never have guessed it's actually that fkn terrible. At that point stay w factory source unit and use bass reconstruction I mean duh smfh. Still won't get it
@@bearxbunny1835 The DSP goes before the amplifier. So whatever you try to do with a DSP, you're still feeding that signal into the amplifier and it's going to cut off the low frequencies.

Alibaba is a storefront similar to eBay. They're not an actual, physical store that makes products. You have various companies in China and in that region that choose to sell their products on Alibaba. I can guarantee you that Steve did not work out any deals with Alibaba but instead worked out the deal with an actual manufacturer.
When I was in the SPL scene 30 years ago, I think it took like a dozen cerwin vegas to achieve the same SPL. 😂
I've seen a single Vega Stroker 15 hit 155 in a geo metro and that was 20 years ago. It's all in the box design.
