Oh my god this has been my main complaint with the headset and I always wanted gel earcups. Even considered selling them just to get a different headset. So glad I found this video. That's a huge perk to being subscribed.
Same, I didn't quite like the cushions and was thinking about returning the headset, but I gave these custom cushions a try and my experience improved vastly. Not thinking about getting a refund anymore!
@@Xidrion you should try doing what I did to make them even more comfortable. I also added an elastic band so the top part doesn't press into my head so hard and it is now the most comfortable headset I have ever used.
@@panmeza4828 may I ask which one you got? My only complaint left with the headset is the top part being a bit hard. I can sometimes feel uncomfortable even with the extra padding this headset has compared to the previous Virtuoso models.

After having owned the Corsair Virtuoso for over a year now, I'm surprised it was so highly recommended on this channel. After about 2 months, I started having many days where I was using the headset for 4+ hours a day and found it pretty uncomfortable mainly due to the round ear cushions that are too shallow and small for me (average adult male).
I had a mix of female/male visitors try on my headset when they visited since they were in the market for a headset too. The women found it too heavy, and the men found the comfort to be below average compared to other headsets they've tried. Sound is ok and the mic is solid, but the comfort is pretty bad for longer sessions.
Literally got my Wicked Cushions for my Virtuoso XTs yesterday... Holy Crap what a difference. Spring for the Cooling Gel, absolutely worth the extra few dollars
The covering of the pad started to peel off after 6 months of use for me, about 3-8hrs a day depending on the day. Love these replacements, have the cooling gel version and enjoyed them but the fact they only lasted 6 months was kinda disappointing. Reached out waiting for a response for warranty replacement possibly but if there isn't one, I will most likely buy them again because they are actually really good. Just sucks they started to peel apart after a short time when the OEM pads lasted 2 years.
Update: they sent me replacements under the 1yr warranty and they got to me in 2 days. Awesome customer service and company.
Was the purchase through Amazon or their website? Also I note this comment was 8 months ago, did the replacements last longer or still 6 months?

I just got these and love them once I figured something out. Just wanted to post here in case anyone else has the same issue I did. On the old pads, the little plastic tabs that lock them in place broke and stayed inside the holes, blocking the replacements from locking in. Once I removed those, the new cups fit perfectly.
Got the pleather upgraded ones and now these headphones went back to my top 3 gaming headphones.
The sound so MUCH better its honestly a big question why Corsair delivered these with the OG pads.

I got some about 5 months ago, comfort absolutely fantastic fit feels great, as for the cooling at first great about a month in i notice it very little anymore, 5 months in the the fabric is pulling away from the cup and exposing the cushioning in the earcup itself.
been looking for a new headset for the past year now, and decided on the Virtuoso in the end, have had them for 2 days and i remembered this video, now im waiting for a set of "Cooling Gel Earpads" im looking forward to them

Man I've had my pair of virtuoso se's for about 2 years now and the seam in the pad has already come apart these replacements are just what I needed.
I have quite a few headsets and have Wicked Cushions on pretty much all of them .. massive improvement!
YOOOOO can I just say how dope this is.
I've been looking for ways to replace my old cushions after they broke, tho I figured out a sort of macgyvered set-up for em with a semi recent replacement I did.
These honestly throw it out the ball park with look and quality, PLUS they got the plastic ring bit that lets ya attach em right back onto the headset.
I upgraded my ATH M50X with a pair of WC Cushings, and I love them, can't wait to upgrade my virtuosos

I got me some several months ago and they are pretty good. It’s difficult to get them on but definitely worth it. I was also surprised at how much they increased the quality of sound.

Just got my wicked cushions today for my Virtuoso XT. I have to say, I agree, get them. THey are thicker, more plush, and the material doesn't make my ear sweat. I got the hybrid material/faux leather/cooling gel.
i just got my virtuoso xt. I am going to wait until the return window is over (a month) to ensure they work well and that I love them. Then, I will get the wicked cushions! I do find that the ear cups are a bit hot, so definitely know what I will be getting! Thank you!

Just taken the plunge & ordered a set. Had to settle for the standard replacements though, as the cooling gel would have been 3 times the price due to needing to be imported. Will keep an eye out for when they finally get stocked in the UK too though. Thanks for the XT recommendation by the way, very happy with them.

Just wanted to let you know, you have converted me to Wickedcushions for LIFE!
I first bought them for my ATH-M50X and they made a WORLD of difference! The stock pads are nice...but after a while, they would warm up and my ears would start to touch the driver-wall and cause fatigue. My ears would be pretty sore on the top of them after of only a few hours of use.
Once I bought the Cooling Wickedcushion Pad upgrade for them...it changed EVERYTHING! My ears no longer touched the driver-wall after a while. There was no overheating or sweating, even after 5 hours of use! The clamping force was eased with the increase padding on the Wickedcushions, which was a godsend. And the best part...it didn't ruin or drastically change the sound profile of the ATH-M50Xs at all! (Being somewhat of an audiophile, that was a huge worry when purchasing the pads).
I have the Virtuoso SEs for my work, and the BIGGEST gripe about them is the lack padding for the weight of that headset...My ears instantly touch the driver-wall, and due to the weight, it really gets annoying after an hour. I can't WAIT to get the Cooling Virtuoso Pads for them and finally be able to be comfortable at work!
How are they now that you got them if you don't mind me asking ?
Its been 3 months. How are they holding up on your virtuosos? I heard someone say it kinda messes up the audio quality and volume when using these on the virtuoso. Did that happen for you?
@@GamerGavin04 Just now seeing this. They are more broken-in and seal better than they did brand new. You actually feel the Cooling gel as you put them on, and continue to feel it every so often. My ears have never once gotten "spicy" with them on. My ears used to touch the drivers with the stock pads, and literally made me hate the headset, but with the wickedcushions, they are even better than the new HS80s from Corsair.
As for the sound quality. I wouldn't say they messed anything up with it. It all depends on the TYPE of cushion you purchase. I bought the cooling gel with the sports mesh against the head mainly because I just wanted my ears not to touch the driver. The sound profile now has changed, but I would say for the better. With slighty more room between your ear and the driver, it physically opens up the sound stage of this headset. Making it even easier to position where sounds came from. The bass may have lowered a tiny bit due to the earpads being not 100% leatherette and with your ears being a little further away from the driver, however, I would not say this ruined the sound of the headset at all.
Keep in mind, i you ever need more volume out of your headphones, wired or not, you can download PEACE EQ, and change the levels of the sounds without the headset lowering one frequency when you change another.
All in all, I would say if you have a Virtuoso and are looking at these pads...no question, get them. Just decide what versions you want. The all leatherette will give you more seal and a fuller bass, but man...the cooling pads are absolutely glorious.

I bought the all black pleather/fabric cushions with cooling gel for my hyperx cloud 2 Wireless and they are AMAZING, I wish they would make all fabric cushions, even tho they have cooling gel my ears still get a bit hot because of the pleather that's on the inside of the cushions. I'd still highly recommend these to anyone who wants to get that next lvl comfy 👍
These are a GAMECHANGER... got 2 pairs of VIrtuosos now... (found the 2nd pair $60 off and couldn't resist!) Picked up a black pair for my black regular edition.
The SE that I have are the brown/silver pair... wish they had plain brown replacement pads, but the white marble might be the best bet
I just ordered some for my virtuoso xt’s. I think with these cushions the virtuoso’s will fit like my lucid sounds Ls35x headset and they feel amazing.

@@Josh-jk1sq here’s my true take on them. Very comfortable no doubt, far more comfortable than the stock ones. They also do lose their full cooling gel quickly, I’ve had them less than 2 weeks and noticed that right off the rip. When you first put them on the cooling SO noticeable. Took just a couple of days to lose that feeling. BUT I also just did a 6 hour stream Saturday and found them still cooler than than the stock ones when I’ve played the same length of time in the past. Likely because your ears are further from the actual speaker than with the stock ones. So still an improvement. I think where they suffer, is they definitely cause loss of audio quality. Both in volume and overall audio. Bass and mids really suffer imo.

I need a new set of cushions cus my bracket locking mechanism broke on the stock ear cushions. Now they're stuck inside the channels. My cushions are literally hanging on by one clip. Might give these a look. Do they really stay cool?
Just bought this headset and these earpads from amazon will get them tomorrow. I hope they are comfortable as I can't handle to much pressure on my head but I am sick of my current Astro A40 TR wired ones with their cable getting in my way all the time.
So far I have tried two, the Astro A50's which were excellent but i had the issue of the Head band popping off and had to return them the next day of only a few hours use and then I tried the Razer Blackshark v2 pro 2023 model but the passive noise canceling was a bit much and the earpads were too small for me but wicked dosent make ones for the 2023 model yet so hopefully 3rd times a charm!.
Does it help this the Corsair Virtuoso PRO wired open bac please it is so unconfutable but it is the best quality audio I has ever had.

New Corsair Hs80 2022 video?
Idk if I have a very small head or if there was something wrong with my virtuosos, but they were so loose on my head. Virtually no clamping force. I was really disappointed because they sound great, have Bluetooth and good mic. Maybe these wicked cushions would have helped a little idk. Also even the headband didn't feel comfortable. While my arctis 9s aren't quite as good they're solid all around, fit on my head and are pretty comfortable

I had just ordered the same ones you just put on there. So it's nice to actually see a video about them. I'm really excited about the new cushions now.
The gel is 100% worth it. I got a set and love them.
My only minor complaint is that I find the stitching from the gel to the pleather on the inside of the cushion stops my glasses from going on all the way. As in the ends of the frame gets stuck on the seam. Not a huge problem if you don't take your glasses on and off a bunch and it could just be my frame style, but it is something I noticed.
I also wish the gel was on the outside as well just for the pure squish factor. Very satisfying.
weird man, my glasses don't have any issues with the. I use straight arm Oakley frames
@@TheTechne It could just be a mixture of my frames the the stitching tolerances. One pad only seems to do it with one side of my frames reliably, while the other works just fine unless I smush it in the right area before putting my headset on.
Again, a really minor complaint that could just be due to my own frames and cushion set. Definitely not enough for me to dislike them in any way. They are awesome and will be going on any headsets I can get WC for. I wish they had more gel offerings for all of their cushions like the sony XM4s. Also with their new airpod tips, it would be cool if they could put gel in their too. It is just such a great feeling.

@@Josh-jk1sq Brainwavz Audio earpads were utter crap, no plastic ring so no way to insert em. Never again trying those.
Wicked Cushions ones are really really comfortable. Cooling Gel feels nice, they isolate sound better than the original ones and they feel absolutely great to wear. With the better isolation it feels, at least for me, that sound has a tad more kick to it.
I wish they had an all fabric option like on their regular cushions (for steelseries and such). I’ll settle for the gel pleather lined but all fabric would make them 🤌
When you do a Review on the New corsair HS80, please do a bluetooth Latency test. It would really help some of us

Ah it sucks that it took this long for wicked cushions to come out for the Virtuoso XT, had that headset months ago but returned because my ears could'nt be comfortable. I have the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro now and waiting to see if Wicked Cushions can hook me up with some gel cushions eventually.

Greetings great video love the info just recently sub to the channel. I am looking for a great wireless headset to use for Xbox gaming something with great sound clarity any suggestions would be much appreciated. I currently have beyerdynamic MMX 100 wired headset they have good sound quality but do get hot although ear cups do deteach.
I ordered a pair. I purchased the virtuoso headset last year, and in the spring of 22 I needed to wear glasses. Noticed the headset was quite uncomfortable to wear for long sessions. I was always adjusting my glasses, or the headset etc. Eventually the stock cups began to degrade, the pleather was flaking off, stitching giving away and just looking terrible. Hoping these hold up and are more comfortable. seeing the clamping force being more where these are thick, I'm a skeptic. Ill be sure to update. I'd love to here more from current users with glasses

Got these for my Corsair SE with cooling gel they make a big difference the feel better and ears don’t get tried from wear also the sound change bass feels more alive sound stage feel wider as well
my issue is that the innder diameter becomes too small

Yo I can 2nd what our boy is saying 100 percent. I tried them on my Audeze Penrose and man... they're a solid upgrade over what the stock ones were, and with these, you don't even need to hack anything up like I had to with the Penrose install 😅🤣.
Which one fits audeze? And how you instal them?

Ear pad changes can drastically change the sound signature of a headphone if it is different materials or a combination of materials. It’s quite interesting

I know I'm not Techne but these will not work with HS80. The Virtuoso has a perfectly round earcup, whereas the HS80 a bit different shape so they wouldn't be able to fit
I replaced my virtuoso ear pads with oval shaped ones. It’s much better for people with big ears.
Which ones did you get? The roundness of the cups is the only downside for me so far...
