Nah, she is fine with it. I am running low on space. For the first time, since I joined the hobby I am even thinking of selling something. But most importantly I found my holy grail, the Cornelius. I still have a few boards on the way but those are really special and unique 🙂. I obviously cannot resist something unique 🙂
I'm always late for the good stuff, especially when they've decided not to make anymore, it's almost impressive how it keeps happening 😭I'm in love with that purple case, there's nothing even removely similar I can find. Wah.
Have you got e-ink screens on your corne? Can you provide some info on that? I was thinking about trying to get some so I can run screens even when running on battery power but wasn't sure what e-ink screens might be compatible with the corne board. Did you need to run some special firmware for that?
I haven't used e-ink screens on a normal corne to be honest, this is the Cornish-zen which comes bundled with an e-ink screen. So I am not sure how compatible they will be with a normal corne . As far as firmware is concerned I just uses the default zmk firmware.
The Cornish zen was produced by Lowprokb and was indeed also available in 5 columns. But they won't be making it again, as far as I am aware, at least exactly in this form.
They were part of a group buy, organised by lowprokb.ca/. I bought them through their EU proxy which is mechboards.co.uk/ but unfortunately this was the last time they were making them.
i realy like how cornish zen looks like but man, these chock switches are milion miles away from how they should work. First thing is the noise and second is typing experience. Ofc typing experience is subjective, depends of person, keycaps and so on. but realy the design of the stem is really bad. in order to get something consisten you need to press perfectly perpendicular to the key otherwise is weird. I've tried them all, same experience. Sunsets are better but still extremely far. imho, there are altenatives, but need different holes on the board.
I can only stand the pinks and sunsets. The sound is lacking but in my opinion it's not the stem that's the issue but the fact that most keycaps are flat and sound cannot resonate at all. So there are no acoustics just plastic hits plastic
@@voidmachines kalispera, yes indeed caps are part of the problem. I had some while ago some gateron low switces both mechanical and optical and in combination with some flat mx keycaps were muuuch better than these chocks .. i also understand that some sunset type silent chocks are in the making so ill be curious if something gets changed on the stem side.
“Needed to cut down the buying quantity”
Did the Mrs just see your transaction history? 😄

I barely got one myself. I am sure they are planning something exciting in the future, similar but not just quite this.
That is a seriously sexy unit...
Nice video, thanks for sharing, well done :)
Thanks for sharing this! Have you compared the choc sunsets against choc browns? I’m curious how they feel/sound differently
I don't like choc browns, too scratchy for my tastes. I have only compared pinks and sunsets. I got a short somewhere

what about numerical keys are the not necessary?
Both numbers and symbols are on the top row accessed by modifiers called layer keys. And they do act like layers while. It's similar to a shift button
@@voidmachines so does it change back when u release the "layer" key or do you have to switch back manually with another key to base layer?
@@harmonyinchaos6381 you can do both, most people prefer the momentarily layer which reverts back as soon as you stop holding it down
Hey there, where is the case from? Do you know if there's a similar case for a corne 5-column?
The Cornish zen was produced by Lowprokb and was indeed also available in 5 columns. But they won't be making it again, as far as I am aware, at least exactly in this form.
What is the hard shell carrying case you are using?
It came with the keyboard so I am not certain if it's something you can buy on its own
where did u buy them?

@@voidmachines thanks
can consider dumang dk6
Looks very neat, unfortunately it doesn't have number keys row, for me it's a dealbreaker..
Then your alternative is either a lily or a sofle
@@voidmachines Thank you! I'll check those out 🙏
could use some new switches it sounds kinda clicky, and foam mod would be the best to top it off
I don't think there is enough space to put foam anywhere 🙂
