A Roofing Prodigy Makes His First Million | Blue Collar Millionaire | CNBC Prime - Развлечения
He is 26. He setup shop in 2009 which means he was 15 or 16. And he's a sales person to a roofing company before that. He was also in high school before he became a salesperson. That doesn't add up at all does it
You're asking too many questions boi.
ⵉⵜⵔⵓⵏⴰⵓⵜ they need to be answered right ? If something doesn’t add up it doesn’t add up lol
I started working 28 hours a week when I was a junior in high school. 48 hours in the summer. I have always thought I would have been better off without those last two worthless years. But that's just me. I'm not encouraging young people to quit high school. I worked in a hardware store and realized there was more money on the other side of the counter so I became a builder. Retired in 1999 at 48!! But I never really retired from working. Just don't need to work for money any more. More Time for fun and family and community activity!! I've seen some of my friends wither away on the golf course. You can't just stop working entirely or you will die Young!
Vincent Conti amen, 30 and retired and I work for fun to get out of the house and stay young
@@vincentconti3633 he being 26 and setting up shop in 2009 still doesn't add up
He didn't make a million as a roofer, he made it as a business owner. It's a pretty big distinction.
@Reginald Holt but where did his millions come from? Certainly wasn't a roofers hourly pay. He made millions from being a business owner.
Yu clouds start a business tomorrow and still be blue collar my dude.
Karg45 - it is CLEAR you have ZERO business knowledge or experience.
Iam a roofer in germany. I work in a small Business with 4 employees and a Kid learning the craft.
I can tell you my boss is doing both. Hustlin for new Jobs and working in site. This way hes making more money and having more fun because he has a lot of different stuff to do.
He is more like a broker
2 mins and 30 seconds in and this seems more like an advertisement
smart guy got himself a Hispanic wife.
its because his prodigy is he can 'sell' he's a sales guy that roofed. pushing product is money
"He's not the flashy type". Shows off Rolex and other jewelry and expensive items.
What he showed is nothing compared to celebrities. If he was flashy, he needs a thick gold chain and bracelet and something more luxurious than a tundra for a daily driver.
My Two Cents 😆
right
@My Two Cents He's still in business but has expanded his product line and services. "Metal Roofs of Texas" kind of limits you to one product line in one state.

Yeah he is when he is not working
PRODIGY: a person who does his/her job.
Welcome to 2020.
No, it's just MSNBC doing sensationalist headlines. Almost no one call people doing their job a prodigy, unless their job is being an amazing athlete or solving impossibly difficult scientific problems

He provided value with his job, that is why he is successful.
OK so a sales rep goes to a house where the crew didn't show up, reads an insulation manual and does the whole job by himself, with no training, no experience, no tools (I guess if the crew didn't showed up, neither did the tools), no licence, no insurance, no idea of what he was doing. And the result is marvelous!
Please don't make me laugh, I just had dinner.
Hate to break it to ya, but some things aren't rocket science OP.
There's really no way a guy with zero experience just shows up to a job and goes from zero experience to installer. The story doesn't add up. I've been roofing for 10+ years, it's not an easy trade, and metal roofing doesn't come with instructions lol.. on the back of a bundle of aspault shingles there is instructions, or should be.. But, how could someone install without tools? Quite a bit of tools you need to be a Roofer, and totally different set of tools to perform metal roofing. I'm guessing he showed up with a long enough ladder, and just happened to be driving a truck with a ladder rack.. and tools of course, because he's a sales guy, they usually carry tools.. LOL
The video failed to show the illegal workers that he paid 4 bucks an hour to actually do the job
Simple, he hires illegals and probably does shotty work.
@@moncorp1 At the very least that's evidence that the barrier to new entrants is low. If that's the case, $22MM in sales may very well be the best he ever does.
Why do people always have to hate?? Hard work pays off. Good on you Bro. #Motivation
Luck pays off fools
@@alexkace6620 In that case, sorry for your Bad Luck... Fool!!!
The harder I work, the luckier I get.
No body hating bro
He also happened to be in the right place at the right time. Any roofer not from the south could of never experienced the same success or a roofer than started during the great recession
His dad (stepdad) taught him something immeasurable; Work ethic!!
I know a individual that crossed from Mexico when he was 14 with $3 in his pocket he lived on the streets for almost 2 years while working in construction but his work ethic made him who he is, now owns his own construction company in San Antonio worth millions. He is 72 years old now and still working hard.
Real Humble 🏅 and hard working
“Que pasa fellas “

As soon as I heard him say that I knew he is a jagoff.
He sells metal roof but his house has shingles. No hate tho. Mad respect
I can’t trust anyone who uses ryobi.
Milwaukee all the way lol
In my commercial building experience i started with dewalt. My impact, drill and reciprocating saw gave problems in the first year. I then went to ryobi and had longer use problem free. I now run ridgid and have no complaints.
Lol.....tools get stolen a lot where I live. Get expensive replacing the good stuff.
Hamfists Man Get a quality toolbox lol I need contractor grade equipment and ryobi just doesn’t can’t handle it.
I don't trust anyone named John or anyone with the last name Smith.
That guy works hard
Very inspirational. Built his business, takes care of his family, not afraid to live lavishly. Breath of fresh air compared to other “millionaires”.
Shout out to this young man & all the individuals out there who have made it out of nothing but have yet to be recognized
Timing is everything!
Great story!
Loved it , very motivating.
The last word that comes to mind when somebody buys a Mercedes M63 AMG, a $2800 custom chair, and a half a million $ house for his wife, is the word "FRUGAL".
To his credit, his everyday driving seems to be toya.
my house is more than a half million yet is only 1000 sq feet... welcome to california lol.
Exactly, almost sounds like the next Mark Cuban...
@iz Zz you missed the other chair was $3500. So $6300 in tasteless chairs
He had it so hard growing up🤧 I'm in tears
How can you not like and root for this guy.
Happy for this guy and feeling inspired.
What a nice and genuine guy. Would love to work for this guy
Good for you man! Very happy for you. Keep on going.
This is something that can't be replaced by a robot.

Most trades are very difficult to be replaced by robots.
Hard work and ATTITUDE equals success. He has both.
I love this series shows average joes making millions anything is possible
Lmao when his own house doesn’t even have a metal roof
Nick Hagan “don’t use your own product”
it does
My brother paints cars and his car is bondoed up lol. My dad owns a car dealership shop and doesn’t even own his own car. I drive for a living and refuse to drive on my time off lol
Because he knows metal can cause rust.
You must not be a roofer. Looks like a stone coated steel to me. Not all metal roof's have that "classic metal" look www.decra.com
Being frugal is relative to how much money you have. Love the hard work man.
I like this guy. Hard working and down to earth.
Nice. Texas proud. D.C.J.
Wait a minute. The guy is 26 and he setup shop in 2009? Sounds like someone got a small one time loan from their parents.. no hate just pointing out this man had help from the beginning.
Its wierd he's lying about something, something he wants to hide from everyone ^^
This is an old video, lol. Channels like this and CrimeWatchDaily post the same video's every few years when they have nothing else to post.
Awesome! And only 26! Beautiful family too 👏👍
He was using hart and ryobi drills in the clips
Milwaukee and dewalt fan boys are having heart attacks 😁😅😅
I’m working on my 2nd million. (My first didn’t work out)
Great job guy
This program is the best thing that has ever happened to me on the internet
What a great series finally something happy on the news
Magnificent serie
So inspiring
I Love those series. And I need to upper my game
Great american success story! This is the type of positivity I like to see on the internet.
Loved watching this story Josey, I've been rooting for you since we met in Florida during hurricane Ian. You're an inspiration brother
great video and cool info
I need to stop procrastinating. This pumped me up
This was filmed in 2013, someone is behind at video editing 🤣
SEEMS LIKE THE MAJORITY OF VIDS ON CNBC ARE A FEW YEARS BEHIND AND HAVE BEEN UPDATE TO 2020 SMFH...
Que pasa fellas. How did he make his millions? Cheap labor...
What part did I miss that his work is cheap labor? I smell jealousy just congrat the guy for employing 100's of people with work to support there familys
@@icefishingoutdoors YEA, I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THE GUY, I KNOW HOW TOUGH SALES CAN BE, ESPECIALLY IN OUTSIDE HOME IMPROVEMENT.
Hard work doesn’t equal success but he’s doing well for himself nonetheless.
You are correct. But you can also just think of an idea for an app, get a loan, make the app, and become rich. So you honestly don't even have to work hard for success. Just have a great idea and a plan and follow through. (Talking from self experience)
Leroy Jenkins what kinda of app did u build ?
You didn't build an app that makes any money. If you did, you wouldn't be bragging about it on RUclips
jake barnier I haven't finished yet. I'm greedy and don't trust people so I'm developing everything myself. Should be finishing up before the year ends. But I'm not bragging my friend I'm letting you know it's possible and not as difficult as it seems. Don't be scared to go get a loan and invest in yourself.

I wish every state in the union was like Texas, amazing people, free economy, minimal taxes, government regulations, my biggest mistake was leaving, I wish one day I'll be back.
Good for him. This is why we need to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.
I love stories like this.
Great story
An inspiration
Congratulations man.
Props to this guy... but this video feels like it’s something from The Onion
I'm struggling with my company I'm on my first year but I'll be on this show with in 2 years.
This is what we need and less people getting rich on being ignorant on social media.
He also pays no state income tax. Texas has no state income tax!
Ugliest chairs i have ever seen. I need to wash my eyes after seeing those chairs
Money cant buy good taste

They're cool asf im sorry you can't see why
Good for him!!
What a great profile!
Lol I don’t even thing goodwill has them chairs lmao 😂
Love that he is frugal too!
the video clearly shows he isn't
My brother has been in school for 18 years since high school to become a neurosurgeon. He makes 400k a year. This guy makes more with roofs and no college degree!
Aiden W - what you should’ve learned from this vid was, it is about passion, not money. When you’re in a service business and customers or patients see the passion they are naturally attracted to you.
As to your brother, his income is relative to the demographics for the area he lives in. Besides, I would rather be a neurosurgeon than a roofer because the neurosurgeon is actually changing and improving lives.
@@jasonjackson5696 The roof over his customers head is not important to them?
A salary will never make you rich . Business or investment is how people become rich
yyn - if you had a brain you’d realize that a metal roof is a style & status symbol.
A composition roof will last 20-50 years & probably 50-60% less money.
Now instead of looking cool, selling the house in 5-7 years at a loss for the cost of the roof - you won’t ever get a dollar for dollar return for that roof, take that saved money & invest it & get a 200% return over 30 years.
@@jasonjackson5696 aesthetic decision possible , customer is free to choose.
if someone had a pair of shoes older than you, they surely never roofed, congrats on the business, roofing is where the big money is.
Congratulations Josey!

Good job buddy
Great story and very inspirational . Hope his wife dont file for divorce & take half of his stuff.
He's not only a smart entrepreneur, but a shrewd investor. The market for $3,000 longhorn bull chairs is set to skyrocket!!

He’s rich because he’s in sales. That’s not blue collar.
It goes hand in hand
Did he start 2009? And is 26 years old?
What year is this from?
This have to be old because I do not think he finished high school, worked a few years as a seller and the started his own business after that when he was 15 years old. lol

Roofing is a good business because most people don't want to do it. I knew a guy that was illiterate but he knew numbers. When asked for a quote he would take a pencil and a scrap of paper out of his pocket and do some quick figuring..he had a price in a couple of minutes. I always thought he was faking it and did the math in his head! He became a multimillionaire and was a very generous guy. He loaned me money once when I had a prob...rip

Did he waste his time going to college?
Or did he get in the trade.
