  • The Dealership don't sell this part separetelly, need the full intake manifold and dealership sells it for $800.00+.
    I drilled a hole thrue the ball joint, and intalled a cutterpin to keep the pin from coming out.. And. This saved me $800 plus labor..
    HERE ARE THE PINS I GOT TO REPAIR T HE MANIFOL.

    I just bought a 14 Cruze for $4k and it has this issue. I honestly can't believe GM designed the manifold like this and expect people to pay so much money to fix it. Thanks bro. I'm gonna see if home depot got any of those pins.

    Should specify in the description that this is for the 1.8l. I specifically searched RUclips for info on my 1.4l Sonic and this still came up in the results. Spent a good while wondering what the heck this part was.

    Hi, my main question is, how did you remove the small arm ? I have the new part coming in in a few days but i see the small arm has like a small lock washer or not sure ?

    • @blackshirtavenger8665
      @blackshirtavenger8665 2 года назад

      The small arm just pops off so there's nothing holding the arm to the main runner control actuator. What holds the arm to the body is the arms round ball at one end which pops into a socket on the actuator. This arm is infamous for popping off & causing the check engine code P2076 to come up. The arms ball wears down over time too which is why you see this guy in the video drilling a hole for a pin so that the arm doesn't pop out any more. FYI they also sell arms on Amazon or ebay for around $10 which has a brass head instead of a plastic one which will last longer. Hope this helps.

      i struggled a lot with that one but it turned out to be pretty easy, that lock washer just pops off with a small flat blade. It ended up going under the car somewhere and I didn't reuse it with the new one, should've been a c-clip, lot of bad design on this car.

    I am currently having this problem with my 2014 Chevy Cruze. We managed to screw the bottom end of the arm, but the top end of the arm at 0:49 could not be drilled and pinned because the whole intake manifold had to be dismantled so we stuffed the top ball joint with aluminum foil and seem to work for a few days. However, the top end of the arm popped off again this morning. Does anyone know another way for the ball joint to stay in place in the top end part? I read some people glue it, but the ball joint needs to move freely. This is so frustrating.
