Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the MiG29 Fulcrum armed with AIM120C Missiles trying to stop incoming strike. Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthog , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
GPU: Geforce RTX 2080ti
RAM: DDR4 Corsair 3200 MHz 32 GBB (total of 4 sticks so 128 GB in total)

we need to see MiG-29 with AIM-120 VS F-16 with R-77
F-16 with R-77 is a pretty unrealistic scenario unless India gets the F-21.

It's as realistic as 29 with AMRAAMs, it's just a fun scenario

I'm wondering if the MiG-29 has been unfairly 'overlooked.' From what I heard, it's biggest weakness is range - it can't carry enough fuel. But what if somebody redesigned the engines to increase their efficiency and also added 360 degree thrust vectoring nozzles? It would be a devastating plane.

The most modernized Mig 29 is IAF Mig 29 UPG with fuel tank like camel hump,, AESA radar , Astra,R77-M , Python tucked

@@williamduckworth305 Kind of it but Mig 35 is big . Mig 29 is rugged , medium sized and Mig 29 upg is multirole can lift off with full payload at Ladakh . It is a GEM with right auxiliary support i feel . Thanks.

Poland has ordered 48 KIA FA-50's from Korea
in the DCS there its available the Hellenic airforce version of the F-4E AUP Peace Icarus 2000? it has APG-65GY radar, MFD, STD-1553b databus, Aim-120b, AIM-9L/M, APX-113(V) IFF, Litening pod, LGBs, AGM-65a/b/g, AFDS.
Something to keep in mind, polish MiGs were never modernized with NATO weapons, so this is just cool alt-his scenario :D
They are being replaced with the KIA FA-50. I love the MIG 29 tho beautiful looking jet
That's correct, only German, Czech and Hungarian MiGs were modernized.
@traviswalker8933 that's also incorrect, German MiGs never switched to NATO weapons either. In fact none of NATO-nized MiGs did, these modernizations mostly covered things such as avionics, IFFs, communication equipment and so on. I keep hearing about the myth of MiGs with NATO weapons and I don't know where it comes from, Ukraine I guess? But they were able to shove HARMs in mostly because it's a very "self sufficient" system or so to say.
Also fun fact bunch of MiGs flying for Poland was bought from Germany when they decommissioned theirs after budget cuts for symbolic 1 Euro :D

The difference that superior weapons make - cannot be over stated...
This just shows you that many older jets can still be relevant today, if they can be upgraded to the point where they can be retro-fitted with modern weaponry. A Jet, any jet, including 5th Gen fighters, are only as good as their missiles allow them to be. Imagine an F-22 with old Fox-1 Sparrows... - In that case you'd rather have an F15 with AIM-120-Ds, right? - It really is mostly about the weapons... If you don't have the weapons to compete then a good jet will only save you so many times before you will eventually be downed.

I really enjoy the jet as well, maybe you can show case also tws2 mode of radar on those su-25 many people don't know you can shoot and guide 2 missiles on 2 different targets with mig-29 in the same time.

Nice video Longshot! I know the Mig29 is under rated, but in the real world it has not done so well, has it. Even down in Africa where it was engaged by Su27s it failed to score (as far as I have been able to figure out). So yeah, the Mig29 - an airplane that on paper should be pretty good, yet so far has not been. Hope you have a great weekend Sir and thank you for making these videos! I love watching them!!

The Polish Airforce began a Mig-29 NATO modernization program that started in 2011. Phase I is to overhaul the airframes for another 4000 hours of life. (phase completed on 32 Airframes)
Phase II is to modernize the Mig-29s with digital NATO avionics to include an Israeli made MIL-STD-1553B internal data bus and flight computer, replacement of most legacy analog dials and CRTs with wide format digital displays with a integrated digital HUD, NATO comms with AWACS datalink and LAU-129 rail adapters/integration. (phase II completed on all 32 airframes)
Phase III started in 2017: Replace the Soviet era radar with the AN/APG-68(v)9 radar. (Same radar in the F-16 block 52 in the Polish Air Force) This enables the Polish Air Force native integration of AIM-9x and AIM-120c5 in their inventory. 15 airframes have been publicly stated as being completed.

@@petros311 They cannot without a compatible tracking radar, not just a radio issue but a software issue. Software interop issues with new F-35s not able to support Meteor missiles requires a good amount of interop work on both the radar and missile seeker firmware. (work that is happening BTW)
