But Queensbury need TalkSport to spread their propaganda and Talksport certainly need Queensbury for interviews and content with Frank and Luke (when they were “friends”)
But unfortunately, the non-stop anti MatchRoom narrative/agenda didn’t affect MatchRoom’s success, that’s why they’re the biggest promotional outfit in boxing.

Answer is YES. Boxing does indeed need promoters.
yep, they'll just build talent on the cheap instead, no more 15/20 fight build ups, and they'll have to take bigger bets on buying in ready made stars that appear*, they'll be needed even as Turki takes centre stage for the big fights. Which he can't do every months, so there's still room for other promotions, but as Adam says, they'll be 2nd tier to Turki.
*Eddie is doing this with Shakur and Boots, whilst Frank is focusing on HW division making sure he's got prospects and contenders.

Simon has to throw pot shots at Eddie. All the promoters have said its very easy to get fights done when there is someone ready to pay for them. The idea the only thing a promoter does is come up with fight terms is crazy (as well Simon knows). Finally not all boxing is going to Saudi or paid for by Turki as proven by Tank and Canello.
Yes, he needs promoters. They know the sport, the markets and how they work. A President needs a cabinet, a Captain needs a crew and Turki needs promoters. What they don't need is 4 or 5 sanctioning bodies with 4 or 5 belts each.

There’s nothing stopping Turki signing all the boxers to his own promotion and cutting out matchroom and Queensbury. They ain’t needed once Turki owns the fighters
to answer Simon it means promoters have to fast track how they build a star, so they'll buy ready made talent to cash in on 3 or 4 fights, stars will fall quickly, and the room at the top will be smaller. Secondly, they'll need to make sure they have plenty of competitors who they'll put into play offs before they then get put in with the talent.
We won't see stars built over 20 fights, it'll be more like 10 fights. If they make young inexperienced champions there will inevitably be journeymen that slip under the radar with a few losses that then cause a few shocks. Small hall is likely to be smaller but there will still be a place for it as its the manufactoring site, along with Olympics, although the latter is more for ready made stars.

With internet promoter's are dying out, especially boxer's with a personality don't need a promotional outfit for selling a fight....imagine for instance a Mike Tyson appearing now! He's selling the fight solo!!!!

better fights are being made at these riyahd season events but the tickets are stupid money and there is nearly half the fights of a usual card not to mention the incredibly stupidly long gaps inbetween fights is already annoying

The first thing is should one country or government Saudi be allowed to eventually control the sport. And what happens when they get tired of losing money on fights and stop investing, The Americans and Las Vegas dominated the sport for years but never controlled the promoters. Turki is taking control of all promotional companies to a degree which is something that was never done since the mafia days.

Unless Turki is goung to fund all the domestic boxing shows then promoters will still be needed.
The first issue will arise when Turki falls out with a promoter and tries to freeze them out. Hope it doesn't come to that but if everything is under one umbrella - can see that happening!

this saudi money has just shown how ineffective hearn and warren really are. they spent years trying to get fighters to sign deals, kept saying: 'it's complcated' - 'we are waiting for contracts to be signed' - 'it's all about timing'......just excuse after excuse.
then up pops the saudis chucks money at everyone and we get fight after fight after fight. so now warren and hearn are just glorified cheerleaders for the saudis.....
the problem is this is a short term fix for the sport with big long term problems. fighters will now ONLY be chasing that saudi cash....nothign else will matter. belts/ history/ being the best/ fighting for fans...it wil all be second fiddle to chasing the saudi money so we will see a drought of boxing in the uk and the usa. sure we will get the odd event once a year but 95% of the big fights will be in saudi arabia. can't blame the boxers as the temptation is far too great but i think a lot will be fleeced along the way and the sport will just become a 'show' as part of the saidi season along with pop stars, F1, and horse racing.....
One belts in boxing will never work. Its a ridiculous argument. You cant compare it wilth ufc. Ufc dont have more then 30 fighters in each division. Where as boxing has thousands in each division.
You're absolutely wrong....there was just one belt for each division up until 1968....and there was far more boxers around then the UFC/MMA you see today.
