We have been working super hard on this video and we are so excited to finally share it with you! Honestly, the Mentawai Islands have now become my favorite place I've ever been! i've been dreaming to go to the Ments since I've been 15 years old. Just like you guys... Main reason is that i just want to get barreled. The Mentawaiis is the ultimate surf mecca for me... When i would come i would bring my brother Erik Otte. Then e would have an amazing surf trip together . and we would catch some better waves than in belgium. Right now ime still free but in a year ill be getting stuck in europe beceause of my job. This would be the perfect oportunity... come oooon pleaaase...

Good vid guys! Tony is an infamous ments legend, he knows those waters better than anyone. The other year when a south african surfer fell off his charter boat on the passage across to Padang, Tony found him. Jarrah his son is an absolute legend and we enjoyed his company last year on Nandji. There's some serious classic surf memorabilia on Raja Elang. The ments are sure a dream but definitely don't expect perfect waves every day! It's still paradise in every way though. Yew!

Epic guys!! I can totally relate... My boyfriend loves his surfing and when we went to Sumba Island and Lakey Peak the swell wasn't as great as we were expecting. So instead, we went on daily scooter missions and explored more of the community. We've been dying to go to the Mentawai's so holding thumbs for this one!

My husband and I have had our craziest year yet. We had to cancel our honeymoon due to morning sickness early in my pregnancy, we had to move due to our town flooding, his grandma passed away, and most recently we were evacuated for 5 days due to fires nearby. We are very lucky to have each other and our family’s but goodness gracious is a honeymoon in order!!! PLEASE CHOOSE US!!!

Have you picked the right season for surfing in mentawai, cause it looks pretty small for it's standards ?
august is still high season but we unfortunately were there during the worst winds and swell the ments had seen in close to 20 years..

I think Mentawai Island is One of the Best place for surfing in the world. The waves is so beautiful and many spots like in Masokut, peipei, Tuapejat etc.

You guys will have to go back. Such a shame the waves weren't any good. I went probably 12 or more years ago before the resort went in and got amazing waves. Had macaronis pumping for 10 days with just my mates. No other surfers turned up. Surfed amazing waves everywhere we went with very few others. I would love to go back and surf Rifles and Macaronis again but haven't because of the crowds we hear are really bad now. And we dont want to ruin the memory of how we had it. What time of year were you guys there? Looks like maybe off season with that wind? Loved the video. Brought back great memories. The surf is just the icing on the cake. The place is amazing. We still hit Indonesia every year for a couple of months.
Stopthegreed ahhh damn that’s so rad! Yeah it’s pretty crowded now adays ... but we still had such a killer time. We were there in August. We just got skunked.. we had some good swell but anytime the waves were firing we weren’t filming and it really only happened a few times. Such a shame but just means we have to go back 🙏🏽🤙🏽

ahhh thanks so much!! and welcome to our internet fammmm hehe (: one week surf holiday we would say kuta lombok for sure if you are an advanced surfer. But if you are just a beginner then surfing in canggu will be great! Lombok is way less crowded and has so many amazing waves near by where as canggu is pretty crowded and offers a lot of surf schools for beginners. have fun in indo!

Daniel Hendle haha I know what ribbing means 😂🤙🏽 but do you mean on the ments? All of the camps are different in price so that’s really difficult to answer but I can’t remember exactly how much awera is but I think it’s $200 a night per person and it typically includes your food !
Hi, I don't mean a fancy hotel or some la-de-da resort for tourists. Isn't there a nice small pleasant room (or hut even) with maybe a small kitchen or kitchen access and a few watts of electricity for cheap? like 250-300 a month, or is it all expensive high-end stuff? Thanks.
Daniel Hendle not on the mentawais. It’s a surfing island so pretty much every spot is either a surf camp or a resort
