This is AWESOME! So I think I will start in Canggu as I want that BUZZ of the crowds and I have never surfed before so I like how u mentioned the good beginner's spot. THANK U FOR THIS!
One of the best trips to date was Secret Sumatra resort hands down Definitely not the cheapest and I still dream about trip occasionally Thanks for sharing as always my friend Be well and Safe travels 👍🤙
It's amazing how many places you've visited and surfed! Just curious, perhaps you could make a video of places you haven't surfed or top spots still on your bucketlist?
Hi Jason. Thanks for all your comments. However, I'm concerned about how angry my videos make you, as it suggests to me you're deeply unhappy. Please please reach out if you're genuinely struggling! And of course, plenty of places I haven't surfed, and many more I have, but won't be mentioned on RUclips. Using other people's footage in small modified segments is also ok, under fair use copyright law :)
@@Jason124-zp9os Can you just let people enjoy surfing however they want? Chasing double overhead swells for the sake of the ego and being judgemental on others skill levels, will only hurt your soul. "The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun."
Should also note. When renting and riding a motobike in Bali, it is fairly common to get pulled over by the police where they ask for a motorcycle license and papers. This is a common tourist tax, so expect to cough up a few rupiahs!
@@doug5372 If you have someone local or can speak Bahasa they will either give you local or foreigner pricing. They first quoted me with around 550,000 rupiah (I am not Indonesian) , then my friend who is Indonesian talked them down. Prices may have changed with more and more tourists. Cheers
@@doug5372just don’t have all your cash stashed in your wallet so the cops can see how much you have. I always keep 50 or 100 in a separate pocket then and just tell the cops that’s all I have on me.
Hi Nathan! Thanks for your comment. You must be extremely unhappy in your life to write a common like this. I hope you can find peace one day, please reach out if you're genuinely struggling and hope you're scoring waves :)
It’s an odd wave because most of energy is directed to those certain peaks like Old Man’s & Echo beach but it doesn’t break much along the beach elsewhere unless there’s good swell. Which makes it kind of odd for a beach break.
Hahah! Yeah to be fair, when I last did it, they overbooked, so me and a few others had to sit on the floor, got soaked from the spray for four hours straight 😂
Living in Indo since about a decade, that`s a damn good guide! Well done!
Epic! Thank you!!
Going to Indo for first time in a week, so stoked, perfect timing
Lucky lucky boy
Another epic guide Dan - happy to support the channel and help everyone score some pumping waves! 🏄♂
Wow! A complete surfing guide to indo in 14mins. Hahahahah I guess I know all there is to know now. That was easy. Indo! Here I come!!
Awesome video, its on my bucket list. Hope anyone reading this gets there too.

I remember back when I first went to indo and some of the other countries you’ve covered. This info is really useful for any traveller.
Great summary. Awesome, rad, gnarly Dan!
Great one Dan!always inspiring cheers!

Yeah, you can get a Gojek ride with your surfboards 🤙🏾
Awesome Dan- excellent intro for what to expect Indo surf travel…!
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful!

How many is a few ? 50,000 or like 200,000 ?

Really depends on your bargaining skills 😂 I’ve heard of people forking up 1mil for no license
@@ZeeeMann Yup! This is totally true. A randomized tax based on if the cop is having a good/bad day 😅

Dan is the man!!
Great content!
Sick video! Thanks Dan✌
Great video mate! Thanks!! Where you suggest to go in January? Thanks
What is the best airport to arrived there ? Thinking about going in July 20
From Hawaii .
I remember one of your videos mentioning private resorts that own the surf break. Where was that?
sumba
Nihawatu
mate told me lion air are charging 1million rupiah per board now for domestic flights, big change from a year ago
Ahh ok!! Thanks for the update... It's getting pricey to fly around Indo these days!
Be careful surfing low tide in lembongan. Cut my foot very badly at shipwrecks at mid-tide. Needed stitches got badly infected
Lion air / wings air raised price per surfboard to 1 million
Old Man's on a solid 6 foot day is a sick wave. Easy entry then a reeling barrel on the inside left.
Yewww yes Dan 🤙
What happened to exploring and figuring this stuff out on your own. We wonder why surf breaks are becoming over crowded.
The internet was created.
Haha , it,s not the 1980 's unfortunately , there have been surfing guides to Indo for at least 30 years ! 😁 ✌🙏
Plenty of places to still do that mate... These are just the famous and therefore most crowded spots!
Times be changing mate- I grew up on lonely planet guide book bible..
No lesser known breaks mentioned here...
sick! do siargao next
Expose secret spots like Siargao, hahaha!
One word,…….Kandui !!!🤙🏽 Mentalwais !! 😂
You,re really killing the sport.. live with it..
??
Killing the sport by telling people about spots that have 50 guys out ever day... I don't think so...
Don’t worry I spend half the year in indo if I see this Dan kook out he’s going to hospital and never surfing again

@@Jason124-zp9os bloke hasn't said anything about the secret spots, you're literally crying about the mention of world famous surf destinations
Besides the named peaks in Canggu is there heaps of other peaks and shoulders further down the beach, to spread out the crowd ?
Bro Canggu is horrible, stay away if you want to keep your sanity. It’s like surfing snapper except 90% are complete kooks

the ferry from Bali to Lombok was one of the worst experiences I ve ever had in my life... If possible, avoid at all cost
Hahah! Yeah to be fair, when I last did it, they overbooked, so me and a few others had to sit on the floor, got soaked from the spray for four hours straight 😂
It's not that bad if youre prepared for it. Ive done it like 8 times now. It's worth it to have your own scooter in Lombok and West Sumbawa
