It's not "their" bg, the reference is on pinterest
I never said they had to think of it on their own for it to be their bg, if you drew it you drew it the point is even if I had a bg ref I never would have been able to draw it on my own
@@td5806 just as @avexiee said "They don't have to think of it on their own for it to be their own bg..." also it is important to use references. Also i don't think, that anyone can draw a whole background or anything just out of your mind :D
@@animationsbelike @Animations Be Like.... I also never said it was bad to use references :o my statement wasn't meant to be rude or to devalue Kouhoshi's art. Drawing backgrounds whether they used a ref or not is impressive bc it takes a lot of patience and effort to draw them:) . I think it's just a bit misleading to claim sth as their "own". Imo there's a difference in saying "this artist draws backgrounds" and "this artist draws their OWN background" just like if I'd say "I drew this character" vs "I drew my own character" even though it was a character from an image on pinterest that was made by another creator. Therefore, it can be disrespectful for the original artist, photographer, cosplayer, creator etc.
The word "own" wasn't needed in the sentence to convey the message that drawing backgrounds is impressive - and I agree with that :). Again, I don't think it's wrong to use references and I HIGHLY encourage artists to use them! But don't claim that the background you drew from a reference is YOURS bc it can be misunderstood by others.
