Just did the wal last week for the first time,27 oct 22 ,weather held off,but was muddy, wet, and so much fun,i can honestly say,ive never ridden trails that good! 2 nd day was y wal black runs, sketchy to say the least,i cant wait to go back again, hopefully before xmas, afan is just so addictive
Nicely shot vid, looked a great day for Y Wal. I tend to miss the blacks and carry on to the end of graveyard where Afan Bike Park is situated and the Downhill track. Niceley built Bike Park free as well, progressive jumps, table tops, rolers, drops and multiple graded lines which can be looped.
It was only after getting back to the car park I noticed I'd missed a few other trails (think they were the one's you mention) Went back another evening and explored some other parts and found the Bike Park as well. Thank You! It was really enjoyable to have a mix of everything there.
It was about 2litres in total I drank, a 500ml water bottle with spare water carried in my rucksack. Probably worth taking extra with you so you can keep hydrated. Thanks.. Enjoy!!
Last time I was there were a few diversions towards the end so keep an eye out for any route changes along the way. Apart from that the climbs are pretty consistent and the descents and views get much better from about halfway on. The Graveyard and Zig zag trails are brilliant fun! Have a good one!
Slade ?? Do you mean 'Blade'. Alan, none of these painstakingly built trails are 'Shit' or even 'shite', you either like a particular trail or you don't. the trails you don't like plenty of other people will love them. If there is a trail called 'Slade' then I'm a 'Dizzy Mamma'
Gonna be making a visit soon..... only a few miles from me... great vid Darren
What a brilliant spot to live close to. Thanks Squire!
