Okay but as wild as this sounds, Esfand was actually completely right about the cervix being the neck. “Cervix” is a Latin word literally meaning neck. Medical terms are very Latin based, hence why neck injuries have the word cervical or cervix in it. But also, cervix is used medically to refer to other areas of the body with a ‘narrow, neck like passage’, including well, the cervix.
But obviously this day and age, if someone says the cervix, they’re almost certainly not talking about the neck lol
Esfand is a secret linguistic genius.
It also doesn't help that the neck bones are the "cervicals". Plus, in Spanish we also call the cervix the "cuello uterino" or "uterine neck"
I have to try not to giggle every time the rheumatologist talks about my cervical inflammation
also, a vagina is a sheath, same analogy as a sword and a sheath. I think it's based on Latin too.
He was also correct about pills absorbing faster when it goes the other way around compared to ingesting it. Albeit, you dont do it with plan B, but in theory he was there.

Esfand has the most uncanny ability to be technically right or half-right about things, but in the dumbest, most absurd ways lmao (e.g. the coat-hanger comment, or that the upper neck where he had an injury is actually called the cervical section of the spine)

Her story about buying a plan b, pregnancy test, and tampons reminded me of the first time I bought condoms.
I went to SAMS Club because I was young and broke and, you know, SAMS is cost effective... I went with one of my best friends and we could only find them in a box of 144 condoms. We could get them up front but were soooo embarrassed to bring them to a check out lady... So I told my friend to just randomly grab something to buy them with, like to hide them, and I grabbed something too. So he and I stood in line and eventually got to put our stuff on the checkout belt thingy...
A moment later I turned to him and said, I just now realized that we are two teenage dudes together buying a box of 144 condoms, a monster like half gallon jar of petroleum jelly, and a huge, foot by like 18 inch sized first aid kit... together, us, here, right now...
The way they'd constructed the check out area, there was absolutely no way for one of us to walk away either... We were in it together... Hahaha... She checked us out just fine but I'm sure that as soon as we left, she told EVERYBODY... haha...
FYI - we split them and a few years later, in undergrad, I still had like 50 of them. I'd far out estimated my ability to need condoms, lol...

Don't feel bad Esfand, I wouldn't know what half these things were if it weren't for dating and the other half from being a counselor for teenage girls. Most of the stuff I learned about from dating was just because I was asked to pick something up from a store and was that dork wandering aisles I'm never in trying to find something. Esfand is actually not that wrong regarding the cervix tho (or at least i get why he got it so bad lol). Cervix means neck in Latin and it stands for cervix uteris, the neck of the uterus. The strain he had is called cervical because is located in the neck (cervix), just like the vertebrae of your neck are called cervical vertebrae
