- Today we integrate the brake components from the old motorhome into the COE. I took a bit of chopping and welding the the end result was worth it. Thanks for watching! #cabover #chevycoe #chassisswap #rustrepair
There is something SO satisfying about building something in one's mind and then transferring one's build into the real world.
This is one of the best one man fabrication projects on RUclips. Y'all need to subscribe, and help the guy out.
Luv the clutter in shop. ,mark of a quality craftsman
Here b4 you.
Whats up with that bump on your left leg. Lower outside calf muscle. Gotta keep you healthy, bro.

That firewall is bomb proof! No need to worry about "less goofy", that's one of the most endearing qualities of a COE! 😊
Best episode yet! Too many RUclipsrs take a grinder to anything with wheels and call it customizing. I really appreciate a builder who uses a grinder and welder to create something!
Thanks.
Great one today Wally, got so much done. Engine vid next, can't wait.
Wow.. Most people probably won't care that you did this BUT.......REALLY cool that you put the master UNDER the cab like it is supposed to be... Keep Workin Wally !!
Not quite sure where your going with engine placement never the less another great video Wally thank you
Good advice: whenever someone says older vehicles are easy to work on, RUN!
When it takes 1-2 hours of removing STUFF just to work on/replace modern injectors, I'll absolutely say "older vehicles are eas[ier] to work on".
I was being mostly sarcastic. But there are some things that are difficult.
You're doing a great job Wally! Keep having fun!
I really like your videos. Very entertaining . I also like the way you format your videos. we get to see production without the countless hours of grinding and welding. Thank you Wally.
I appreciate that!
Great job Wally. I was worried in the middle of this but you brought it home. Amazing!
You got my attention on this build. So refreshing to see someone use what they have on hand and figuring it out, instead of buying premade parts that are expensive just to get to the same point in the project. Great job!
That’s the intention with this build.
Always nice to see progress on the coe and don't let the the haters talk you out of doing what you want to your truck
Love watching you work, Wally !
It is fun to watch the thought process and then the execution of the plan...Looks great!
I was thinking under the dash brake cylinder kit to keep it clean. And then I realized he has all the brake system from that chassis duhhhhhhh 👌👌
Great work Sir.
Great work again, loving this channel, I look forward to each episode 👍
Don't forget, your heel will be elevated by 1/2" or so as you put carpet/sound deadening/padding on the floor below that brake pedal, so brake actuation may be even easier. That really turned out nice.
I thought about that.
Wally. Love your ingenuity ! Your welds are looking better every time.
So much fun to watch you fab this whole job! 🚛
Nice work Wally, and super strong too! You make it look easy. The firewall looks great! Thanks for sharing your hard work.
Nice job Wally, love your work!!
That will be more solid than from the factory. Nice Work. Looking forward to seeing more!🤙
Well I must say you are the man when it comes to fabrication 😊
totally quality built solid and secure pedal mechanics, each step gets better
Great progress, solid, tidy job.
Great job! Can't wait to see how you finagle the engine in 😅
Friggin excellent job Wally !!! I'm really loving this ! 😉🙃😎 NZ
Appears to me you know your stuff, looks very professional!
Wally, your content is improving compared to previous episodes. Remember were just along for the journey. Just build it and send it.
Thanks.
Lookin really good be driving it before you know it
Great job on mounting the brake pedal and master cylinder. 🤞on mounting the engine and transmission.
Brakes are turning out great! Looking forward tonthe next episode.
No, I won’t turn away sir. I’m enjoying this video am very interested how this project is going to look when it’s Finished, so far it looks good l like your work ethics you’re smart worker doing a great job,So keep on Truckin my brother God bless you.
best build on utube at the moment
Nice. You are a great fabricator.
Anxious to see more.
Dang. Some nice welds. Love this build. Keep it up man,
Yep, that’s a lot of tiny welds. Tack and slash - mixed with dogged determination works. 👍
Nice and clean floor board Wally 👊🇿🇦
Fantastic job of fabricobbling!!!
Good job. I finally caught one before it was 6 months old. Looks like it went pretty smooth. I just spent 3 days engineering the clutch linkage on my 56 GMC Detroit swap. The first two attempts were failures, after completely going another direction it all came together. The only thing I may have done differently is I would have made the upper cut so it kept the lip.
My top 5 on YT... Great work!
Looking great Wally
WOW that's a great job! SWEET!
Awesome job Wally
Nice job there on those brakes
Another great job guy and loving the build
Wally thanks for the shout out. Your trucks looking. Good I’m probably going to borrow your idea and shorten that brake pedal arm get myself some more room. Keep up the good work. Also parents subscribed to your channel my dad’s watching your builds.
You bet man, get out there and work on it.
Nice work. Keep it up. I like the attitude, work with what you got…
You are a masters. Love the truck ... verry entering vidos ...... from uk
Hi from France again,Eager to see how it's going on ,Nice job Sir !
Thanks!
That’s looking really good. 👍🏻
Nice job. Keep having fun.
I'm glad I subscribed to your channel. You've become one of my favorites with this project. I need to get out to my shop and get more kids for our channel. You are motivating me.
Get after it.
That was awesome, Wally! Really enjoyed that. Last year I bought a table that adapts a Harbor freight band saw to the table. It makes sheet metal and steel bar or tubing cuts so much easier. Pretty small investment but I think it's a lot safer than using a cutoff wheel. Just a thought and a recent tool addition I've really valued
I was looking at one from swag off Road. But I’ve just been too cheap 😂
Really nice job Wally ❤ the channel 😊
Looking good wally
Old guys. Nice work W!
Who you calling old? 😂
Epic build and going warp speed on it
Love your fantastic work
That is some awesome work!
Thanks for sharing your nightmare great progress
It was at first but I’m falling in love with it.
Loving the build, i love that you are reusing good parts... if you have a massive budget i feel like you miss out on the fabrication side alot. Its looking good, following until the end... loving the build your vision and your skills.
I could throw a checkbook at it, but what’s the fun in that.
Good Workin Wally
PROGRESSSSSS! looks great!
Great job .
Luv the show!!
Squirt a little graphite on the rubber boot.. It will keep it from squeaking and help keep cold air from blowing up your pants leg. 👍
Good job!
Looks stout. Good job.
It's amazing how much shielding gas a guy goes through welding floors.
This welder eats more to, it has a pre and post flow feature that I don't like, and you can't turn it off.
Looks great
Looking good 👌💯❤️
Lookin Great!!!
Yeah,...I think most of us will agree,....that three and one half seconds of jibber jabber left a gray cloud over this otherwise fantastic video.
We will all try to have a good weekend nonetheless.......you do the same.
I hope that was sarcasm 😂
@@wallysworkin823 Fantastic video...from start to finish.
@@wallysworkin823 ( By the way, the way you hung off the master cylinder for a stress test was fun ) Job well done!
Awesome!!!!💪💪💪💪
Bravo!
So Wally, how are you been working hard like always huh? Oh, it’s about time you upload some videos on man we want we want to listen to you here in Pennsylvania.
You could raise your seat height a little to help your knee position. Can't wait to see the finished truck
Possibly, the foam is a little sacked out to, new seat should fix that.
Nice
They are easy, if you leave a roomy access hatch!
In my neck of the woods we say " built like a brick shit house."
It pretty much is.
I would have turned it sideways like the old Chevy vans. That way you can check the fluid under the hood.
I wanted to leave myself as much room as possible for the cooling system, air conditioning stuff, etc.
Don't mean to harsh your mellow, but a few opinion comments, go easy on the final finish welding, your project has just begun to throw challenges your way, with all due respect the master cylinder location looks great for a slant six install, it's about the most Rube Goldberg set up I've seen in a long time, I heard you say you want to use all the motor home stuff you can, consider a junkyard firewall set up, way cleaner and gives more engine space.
Otherwise very impressed with the quality of work and your skills 👍 not trying to rain on your parade your doing good
It’s all good. I’m always thinking 10 steps ahead mostly.
With some modifications I should be close on my brakes. Thanks
Merci
G'day Wally,
This build is coming along nicely. One thing you mentioned is motivation. It's gotta be the most hardest thing to achieve in any build.
Q. Just out of curiosity, what welder set up do you have.
So, thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Thanks! It’s a Lincoln power mig 215 MPI.
I love this project and you're doing a bang up job. I only have two things to bring up.
You might already have accounted for this but, what are you doing about painting the body patches and all the raw metal ads ons? The other thing is access. How are you gonna access the brake booster once the truck is done? Does the cab hinge providing access? Are you gonna put in some access panels? Not just the break booster but all the mechanical odds and ends? Keep up the glory I can't wait to see it finished🎉🎉🎉
I know you wanna preserve patina, you gonna paint some and clear the rest? Maybe two tone some of it? Maybe blend and distress to match? I'm excited to see it running and working
The cab will come off and the underside will get sandblasted, then painted and under coated. I will put in a small access door just for the master cylinder in the floor. The engine will be a little further back, but there is no easy way to access everything unless you make the cab tilt which I didn’t want to do.
I’ll fix the rust issues and do a match patina paint job on those spots, then probably a flat or semi gloss clear.
Another stellar video. Please invest in a face shield. I can see you are cheating by using prescription glasses and closed eyes method when you are grinding.
Safety glasses with side shields as a minimum.. Cheater lenses can be bought at most welding suppliers. You only have one set of peepers.
I know I’m bad about it.
Good job figuring out the brakes but you Shure made a lot of extra work for yourself when you could have firewall mounted the master from the motorhome and made a rod off of the factory brake pedal
Too long, it would hit the hood.
Have you thought about diagonal bracing for the cab frame from front to back? Since it's up there on stilts.
Yes, more will be added later.
👍
Are you going to add cotter pin at the end of brake rod for safety, looks like the bolt is threading out a little every time you press the pedal
And are you considering an emergency brake ?
Yes, this is just all mock up.
I do love what you are doing. im just curious how you can get room for the engine now with that brake assembey
It’ll be a little further back.
where are you mounting the motor?
Working on it now, changing my plans a little. Stay tuned.
Right now, the cab is ...welded to the frame. Rigid. There was talk of cab mount bushings. Wouldnt the cab mount bushings take care of the flex on the master cylinder? Or vice- versus?? Frame or cab mounted master?
The cab is currently on rubber cab mounts. I just wanted to keep the master as close to the body as possible.
@@wallysworkin823 gotcha.
Curious as to positioning your brake pedal to the right of the column?
Glad to see you got the mastercylinder mounted and it works well. Is there still room for the engine? Please don't tell us you are mounting it behind the cab.
Currently working on it, I had to change up my plans a little, stay tuned.
I'm building a '53 Ford C500 with modern drivetrain and mounted my hydroboost and mastercylinder to the firewall just like the pickup I got it from. It's way easier and nothing to interfere with locating the engine. Good luck.
@@kenn5894 This brake set up was too long for the firewall, it would hit the hood.
@wallysworkin823
Okay 👌
Hopefully it's still going to be a COE 🤞
Are you in the Phoenix area? I'm in Queen Creek.
Question from the U.K.: when we heavily modify and make additions to a vehicle it has to have it re registered as a camper van and it changes the annual ministry of transport testing ( legal requirement in U.K.) what do you have to do to register it?
Basically nothing. Arizona is really easy with that stuff. I already had an inspection done and everything was good. It’s still the wild west out here 😂
I got 54 coe . All stock . Looking for all 4 brake cylinders , kits
