I've done 6 rv teardown over the years in Tucson and most of them had packrats so we would cut around the roof and down the corners and pull the whole thing over onto a trailer so you sir have my respect cause your way is way harder. FYI it's fun to drive them around after you cut the body off people give some funny looks in traffic!😂😂😂

Good luck, I bought a P30 motor home chassis for my 1947 model 1506 GMC COE cab. The steering box would have been over a foot in front of the bumper. I cut the frame and am in the process of mounting the steering box inboard under the floor. I have an Isuzu steering redirecting box that makes a 70* turn back to the box. Then it will use a drag link going forward to a modified idler arm being used as a belcrank. Like a few of my projects, it has been on the back burner for a bit. Your videos are definitely motivating. Also I’m running a 5.9 P-pump Cummins and an Alison 6 speed, and in California style it’s slammed on airbags with a 4 link rear. It’s going to be a vintage ramp truck. And it’s completely rust free.

We are allowed to dump 1 ton per month for free with our water bills here in Phoenix so there was no change. The winch pulled it off the trailer perfectly. I didn’t have to touch anything. My C50 project is on a dodge motorhome chassis. It was only a 14ft motorhome, actually fit on my car trailer..well not really, but enough to tow it to my shop. The dodge van chassis had one of the longest production runs, parts easily available, dana 60, front disk brakes, ifs. It was partially cut up already, but not fun tearing it completely apart.
There was a guy who sold them stripped down on CL, almost bought one, but would not fit on my trailer. They use a tractor/backhoe to just smash them to bits.

    If I was me, I might visit my local-owned family-operated heavy-truck dismantlers.
I might acquire a frame after all the components are removed.
No cab or box/hitch, no axles.
    .
These are engineered for a million miles, engineered to carry 24/7 loads without failure.
These are engineered to continually earn a living.
    .
A RecreateVehicle frame is designed for a few weekends annually.

Drain the oil out for storage? That's the opposite of what I was taught. I was taught to "pickle" an engine if I knew it was going to sit for a long period. Fill it with all the oil it will possibly hold. That always worked well. Doing that, even after 40 years, they aren't locked up. You just have to remember to drain a bunch out before you try and start it.

We delivered RecreateVehicles manufacturer-to-dealer and dealer-to-shows.
Often, while waiting on paperwork, we walked the assembly floor.
    .
Often, we saw a forklift raise a motorhome frame higher than our heads to clear the frame ends from dragging.
    .
A motorhome frame merely connects the front axle to the rear axle.
The house structure provides most of the vehicle rigidity.
    .
At Copart salvage auction, we see Class A motorhomes, usually with a galley fire from a bad fridge.
Although the rest of the rig is intact, stepping inside is similar to walking onto a trampoline.
Without integrity in the box structure, the vehicle is Jell-O™.
