In my opinion, the ONE thing you should never cheap out on are tires. I think there’s a difference between cheap tires and affordable tires. The ones you mentioned I think are affordable, but not cheap. They may not be as high quality as Toyo or Nitto, but they’re still safe at an affordable price.

I have 1997 Ford Expedition aka “the lunch box”, I think I’ve spent about $2,700 on the truck, max trac 35s, a 2.5 spacer for the rear, about five entry fees to a local off road park, and ten subway Sammie’s. I’m at the local Walmart weekly sometimes bi-weekly community car meet when I need snacks for the kids( not really a meet just shopping). Add 60 bucks to my total I gave it a spray can paint job.....looks amazing from about 10ft +.
I like your videos I’m new to the truck scene, I use to fly fast and low. Now I get gallons per mile.

I've been watching alot of you guy's videos and I'll agree with the gas vs diesel part. (You guys have alot of good content btw) I'm a wrench and I can honestly say the gasser 6.0, 6.2 or the 6.4 hemi engines are underrated. If you're gonna pull often, diesel. You'll save money, wear and tear on the engine and trans. But otherwise gasser. My dad ran a plow truck for years with a 6.0 chevy. Worked fine.
I guess the big different besides initial price point, is maintenance. Diesel are far more expensive maintenance wise and can run way more money if you're trying to blow it up with burnouts and hard launches. Injectors are more expensive, turbos, etc. A gasser just goes. Dont have to plug it in when winter comes knockin, oil changes are cheaper, no emissions b.s., etc.just saying. Especially when you live in Minnesota like me and the state runs B20 fuel for diesels and it gets stupid cold for a few months. Not knocking diesel. But if you aren't pulling often. Then you're wasting money.

a sentiment never seen on truck suspension videos!
Option 1: Spend $60-70k and then go tear it up by using it like a UTV off-road. Wreck it and watch the insurance laugh at you. (look up 90ft ford raptor jump to see one of these morons)
Option 2: Buy a UTV / Dirt Bikes and tow it to the dunes etc and don't give a shit what poor-kid-with-a-truck-that-costs-less-than-your-wheels thinks about your lift on the towing machine.

I have the 6 inch lift rough country with the tis 544 and toyo mt like u guys said it’s not so good to go with a cheep tire and actually the lift and all went on a 96 obs f150 it’s actually rides better then it did stock to me and a few of my friends that’s ridden in it a lot plus it wasn’t cheep really not 10k but I had right at 4 in it all and for all who wants to know the toyo is a super tire I love them so far. And another way to keep it cheep is start out leveling the truck and go with 33s or so that’s what I did to mine when I didn’t have the money in high school to lift and go all out

Well I have a 2014 ram 1500 4wd regular cab and I have the 6” rough country lift and federal couragia mt 37x12.50r17 on 17x9 -12 offset Mickey Thompson Classic lll and the 50” dual row cree led light bar and it all works great I have 2 years with the lift and I have zero issues and with the federal tires I have 10,000 miles on them and they are at the half life but I have taken it off road to the Uwarrie off road trails which are very rocky and will tear your tires up and these tires have done great can’t complain at the $700 price for all 4 new and these rims I bought them for $275 for all 4 so all in all I spent $975 for rims and tires but in total with suspension and wheels/tires lighting and performance upgrades (engine) I’ve spent roughly $6,500++ but to install the lift it was about $350 my buddies at the place I use to work at helped me out to have it installed and they did it in like 2 hours ;)

I have a gasser and the zone kit and amp rubber, and it ain't no mall princess!! I guarantee that!! No need for a diesel, never have never will! I would much rather a gas truck! Not sure why people think if u spend thousands upon thousands your truck is gonna be "so much better"... I'd much rather keep it simple, and if something does break, it's not a left nut to fix it.. Another great video tho, thank you!

Man, i wish i could make my truck as badass as the white one on the vid, but unfortunately i live in Maine where they limit frame heights by weight, measured at the bottom of where the frame terminates, frame ends, max height my truck can be is 28 inches at the front and 30 in the rear. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHEEL OFFSET... cannot have tires spaced out beyond the body, its a good size ticket too, oh and one more thing: tires can't be more than 2 sizes above stock size. So all i have to say is screw Maine.

    #1 Lift Kits
    #2 Spacers
#3 Over sized wheels and tires
#4 Muscular/Metal look e.g. Custom bumpers and fenders and stuff that show the bolts and look really metalic
#5 Fog Lights/Off Road Lights/ Just weird custom lights
#6 Big Exhaust pipes and often through the truck bed
(Yes I know call me a truck ricer but idc I love these mods they look great!)

Half of the way around on the wheels then nail on covered by blk duct tape, that ended up going into my brakes and smoking and burning ! Within 10 miles , so embarrassing driving a hummer and putting work into it , seriously think they tweaked the wheels with the impact gun!

They don't come cheap if you are new to this whole vehicle thing. Wonder what these idiots are driving...Lifted 2003 chevy's with mud crawler tires? Cool beans. I see Wheels and lifts all the time on Craigslist for like a 1/4 of the price. Now one of them may have a little road rash on the lip but we have a shop locally that will straighten, add material, or rehoop if need and they are still way cheaper than what buying a new one. My cousin just bought a BDS lift for $525 but was missing the hardware for the front and had a little scraping but wasn't bent. Found the specs online for the grade bolts needed and walked out of the Local Tractor dealership with the correct ones less then 35 dollars. You will be amazed what you can find in local salvage yards for super cheap if you remove yourself.

Hey Fuller, I have a rancho lift that measures at around 5.25" front lift on my 2010 sierra. I did a norcal tuck and I'm clearing 35's, but I want more of a negative offset look, so do u think it would look better with a more negative offset but id have to down grade to 33's, so a lot of wheel/fender gap. Or keep my current set up? The 35's sick out about an inch.

    • @CustomOffsetsTV

I'd take 35's personally, but its all personal preference. Many people would say more stance looks better than more tire.
