I think it’s cool how different regions call it something different and each have their own style. I’m from Texas and we called it trucking or bouncing. It’s all about having good clean fun with your friends and feeling the music.

I have watched this so many times! Ahhh memories. I have noticed in other videos that the "tricks" are done on the straight part instead of the corners. Not a bad thing just an observation. ;) Seems better that way to be honest, less chance of getting your feet crossed trying to do tricks and turn at the same time. (Never said I was graceful while skating) Thanks for this video, such a wonderful part of my childhood.
Our local rink here in NY has a bunch of little babies that love to fall down. Its noisy with a ton of birthday parties going on. So not fun, they need adult nights where little kids are not allowed. #bringbackgrownskating not just On Mondays.

Alright fellas...isn't it about time for Da Boyz - The Sequel??? I'm 56 and me and my BFF of 43 years now went skating all through junior and senior high school. Then, when my daughter was about 4 years old, we were 20 years old at that time, we would take her with us every Friday and Saturday night. That went on until my daughter was 8 or 9. At that point my BFF was married with two kids of her own and they moved about 250 miles away from the small town we went skating at (we lived in the county). That town still has a population of approximately 46,000 people +/-. Three years ago the skating rink we spent so many hours at, our other friends from school as well, was torn down. It has been replaced with one of those BS Micro Strip Malls because who doesn't need more of those? 🤨 We have too much technology, kids and adults alike. Another friend of ours that lives in a suburb of rather large metropolitan city takes her granddaughter roller skating. The granddaughter invited one of her friends, they're 8 year olds. When they went inside to get the little friend some skates, they sat down on a bench to put their skates on and the granddaughter's little friend asked, and I'm dead serious, "What exactly do these do? There's no keypad, display lights or anything." Saints preserve us! The granddaughter's friend told her parents it was just stupid, boring and not any fun at all. She NEVER, EVER wanted to go to a place like that again! If she found roller skating boring, stupid and no fun, clearly she didn't understand the concept. That is just unbelievably sad. Come on, Da Boyz - The Sequel. It took 36 long ass years for Maverick to be released. Let's not try to tie thay record shall we?😁 ~ APRIL LIPKE
