Actually no. He had every right to confirm you had a license. In Texas in order to carry open at the time he made this video you have to have a concealed weapon permit. It's an "exception"...so the Officer had every right to confirm you were obeying the law. I'm just glad Virginia doesn't have that stupid exception. We have open carry here. Having said that if you go onto private property and the property owner or people given the authority to manage the property ask you to leave no matter if it's due to your pink hair or you are carrying a firearm you have to leave.
Thank you! I am tired of reading "If you are open carrying in Texas you have no legal obligation to show your LTC" that's just not true. Originally, before the bill passed the verbiage said a cop could not detain or ID just for open carrying a handgun. But that part didn't make it into the passed bill. So, in Texas if you are open carrying a cop has every right to ask for your LTC to make sure you are carrying legally. That doesn't mean I agree with it. But, it is the law.
And as far as i know its the same here in ky . Ive have talked to my local walmarts store Mgr. He told me open carry was legal ,however he didnt like it but unless i did something stupid it Would be np . My glock is like master card i dont leave home without it
It's amazing if you go to Walmart to buy something you can't get one employee to help you all you have to do is come in open carrying and you'll get everybody on the payroll to come assist you. Lol
Lmao... I'm trynna tell u.. Specially in hardware and sporting goods section.. Nobody ain't never there.. Unless it's a passing worker that don't know that section.. Smdh
By the way anyone can regurgitate information verbatim if they spend long enough memorizing it. Doesn’t mean they’re intelligent nor truly informed on the information. Birds can memorize words and say them back too.
Moto Hooligan IF he wished to continue to shop, he would then be detained so that he can see his license. Since it was agreed he would leave, no need to look at it. lol
I really wish you younger folks would school yourselves on exactly who is authorized BY LAW to represent the corporation in such matters. HINT: start by learning the definition of "agent."
In the video you are arguing with him about whether or not there is a sign. At that point, he's asked you to leave, so it's irrelevant whether there is a sign or not. Him asking you to leave is enough, and at that point, if you don't leave immediately, you are trespassing. He doesn't need to give you a reason. I open carry all the time, but you have to respect private property rights. Arguing about whether there is a sign or not, is not respecting the private property. Just say ok and leave, then take it up with Walmart Corporate later.
+AR556NATO At the time they were referencing the sign , he didn't say "Leave" , he said "it has to be concealed"....BIG DIFFERENCE. Wal-Mart does not have 30.07 posted. Your as dumb as a Wal-Mart employee. He asked for verbal notice to leave several times and the idiots didn't even know what the hell he was talking about.
That interaction with the cop at the end is how EVERY INTERACTION WITH A COP SHOULD GO. God, damnit. He asks you questions, which he has the right to do. You clarify whether or not he is detaining you (for which he would need probable cause) and he says no (because he doesn't). Then you go on your way. Both people were respectful and handled the situations like adults. Bravo to you and the officer.
That works as long as the COP is reasonable. Where the problem begins is when you encounter a public servant that think they are the supreme leader of the land and what they say is law.
You hit the nail on the head if all law enforcment would be more properly trained in this manner because more and more law abiding citizens are carrying these days with all the shootings going on the , the police are just goingto have to deal with it.
you are wrong about the pig having right to ask questions. if he is not in his official capacity, he is illegally trying to contract with you and this constitutes harrassment. This pig was smart enough to know this, that is why he chose to CEASE and DESIST before facing rights violations law suit. Know your rights and how they work, not what the pigs or any other uneducated fool want you to know.
If I'm a bad guy and I see someone carrying open. That means you're first to get shot. What's the point? Just keep it concealed so you have a tactical advantage.
John doug I get you.. but my point is. Keep it concealed! Let's say I'm a bad guy. I will walk around the store and assess my threats. Open carry is a obvious threat! Me,the bad guy. Now knows who is armed. I can see it. I'm carrying concealed, so now you don't know. But I do!! I pull when your not looking! Boom boom boom . You're dead. What is the point of open carry again?
John doug . If I'm a bad guy looking to kill ( mass shooting ) and I see a threat to my cause. You will be first to go. Open carry is so stupid. The bad guy always has the element of surprise. He is the aggressor put your stuff out so he can see it! Sounds smart not really! Carry concealed gives you the upper hand. Carrying open makes you a Target.
as a gun owner and a person licensed to carry, I never open carry and never will. if you were in a situation where there was an active shooter you're basically standing there with a big red dot on your forehead. just conceal it! there's no reason to attract attention to it because in the end it's less safe to show it off.
I prefer open carry because it's better to avoid a gun fight than to win one. Another reason to open carry is to get society used to it; the more people do it, the more it becomes the norm.
Jeff Grigos there is two side to your argument..some would be robbers would change their minds if they walked into a walmart where almost everyone was open carrying..
Jeff Grigos there are no facts to back up.that claim. In a shooting situation seconds count. I can get to my open carried gun faster then you can get to your concealed. Could be the difference between living and dying.

The guy is open-carrying... not one customer is freaking out... just the store employees. What a mess.
Strange that this happened in Texas. I live in VA and I open carry all the time with no issue. I've only been asked to remove my firearm once and that was at a Greene Turtle restaurant, and I did so because I was with some friends from jiu-jitsu training and we didn't want to have to leave. Other than that, no one ever bothers me about it, either they don't notice or don't care.
Last I checked Walmart is a business...on private property. They don't have to have a reason to kick you out, they can tell you to leave or ban you with or without reason, right? It's open to the public, but it's not public property.
Eliza Ehrlich No, they can't. I'm not privy to the store managers handbook or corporate policy, but I can guarantee you, it will say something to effect of if you are going to throw someone out of the store, they have to be breaking some sort of rule. Or causing some sort of problem. Following posted rules by definition, is neither of those things.
I'm just surprised you got 3 people to help you , Everytime I go , ain't nobody "working" there. That's why that lady didn't surprise me asking where , whatever she was looking for , at, she took advantage.
You must be an inbred piece of shit who think is totally normal to see a person carrying a gun for everyone to see at a walmart. Of course everyone will notice dumb fuck
This man has the right to protect himself no mater I bet.... if someone came in shooting the place up and a LTC holder stopped the threat... and the gunman was coming at you... your opinion would be different
+Sina Ramandi "if there were no guns in the world " , now back to reality, there are and always will be. Now dealing with reality and not what if make believe scenarios, people have the right to defend themselves. If you don't like it, move to one of those great places that guns aren't allowed and enjoy criminals being criminals not following the laws already and see how great your life is when you really can't defend yourself. You will either be dead or close to dying and back to the USA in no time.
Adam Zaidi 30-06 prohibits conceal carry. 30-07 prohibits 30-07. The store may have a sign that says they prohibit guns with the penal code 30-06 if thats the case. He can open carry They failed to know the gun laws.
@@JoseGarcia-lf4gx Yes I know, I was just being stupid. I was just referencing a 30 ought 6 rifle caliber. One of my favorite rounds. I appreciate you trying to elaborate this for me.
Wrong. In the state of Texas they can place a 30.07 sign in the front of the store which essentially means "if you show up with an openly carried handgun, you are trespassing". No 30.07 sign = open carry is legal and welcomed. If they want to restrict firearms from their store then they need to post 30.06 and 30.07 signs
RingWraith75 it is a public store and still is on the same law as everyone else and if there is nothing in their policy saying he can't have it and there is no policy about that then they should not have confronted him
Josh P I saw a guy walk into Wal-Mart a few weeks ago with a Glock on his hip. I didn't bat an eyelash, of course. Figured we was an off-duty officer or something. He looked the type. Could've just been your average Joe, too. I don't understand people that call the police over a gun. If he was pacing back and forth, looked nervous, or anything like that I could understand.
Rubber Band TRUCKER DOWN CODE 8.473 bro as in writing this comment I heard a bug making a loud ass noise and I ain’t playin now fuck this is sector BUG SPRAY 72649 BRAVO 8 BIG BLACK COCK JOZZ OH FUCK SOS SOSO SOS
+Miller Matt So it's completely legal to Open Carry... but buying groceries while doing something completely legal is pushing things too far? I missed something here.... either it's okay and legal.. or it's not. You can't say "Well.. you can do it... you just can't go shopping.. walking.. hiking... jogging... or watch porn while doing it."
Not sure where this happened Jake Jones, but here in good ole WV I have bought a few guns at wal mart and ammo to go with them. Their only policy is that they have to walk the gun as far as the door before handing it over. On another note we have been an open carry state for a long time and are now a constitutional carry state, meaning we can carry concealed without a permit, and I have seen many people dong this with no problems.
Wal-Mart stores sit on private property, meaning you can be asked to leave at any time for any reason. If you refuse, law enforcement can be called to enforce trespassing law. This is one of several reasons it's adviseable to have a concealed carry permit if you're going to carry a firearm for personal defense in the United States. If you're going to flex your rights, you should make sure that you're fully aware of the rights and duties of others concerning any alarm which may arise when you choose to carry your firearm, particularly when doing so openly.
In Texas a store needs the 30.06 for concealed and 30.07 for open carry. But..... also in Texas any store has the right to tell you to leave. Trespassing and what not. Thats why he kept asking about verbal 30.07. If the guy just woulda have said no guns allowed u need to leave he woulda been like okie dokie.
also In Texas a law officer can ask you at any time for any reason for your license to carry permit. i woulda punked that cat out. The cop just didnt want to have to file the paperwork.
nibbs84 I live in Texas and unfortunately this is not common knowledge. These people are out trying to make a scene, the dude literally says "I go looking for stores that dont have a sign". With all they're mass shooting going on in our country...well you see where I'm going with this I'm sure.
nibbs84 True but that’s only if the cop is detaining you. The cop decided not to detain him and I️ believe the reason is because he kind of felt the guy was being harassed. Walmart allows open or conceal in Texas. Managers don’t even know about Texas 30.06 or 30.07
DisguisedMeat 6 True but he wanted clarification if he was given 30.07 trespass notice. They didn’t know what it was. I guarantee you someone is getting fired behind this.
I've been in Walmart in several states and pretty much every one within 30 miles from where I live. I have never, I mean NEVER, seen the "proper" legal signage at any of them that hinders legal carry, either concealed or open, posted at any of their entrances. Secondly, they can't tell you to stop recording as their stores are considered a public space and they have cameras everywhere, so there is absolutely no expectation of privacy. And if you noticed the cop let him go without a single word to challenge him because the cop knew he had absolutely no lawful reason to detain him.
in kentucky there signs dont mean anything anyway they can ask you to leave if they do and give you time to leave and you dont you can be tickeeted fro trepass but thats about it
colton davis You're right, it's America. and in America private companies have the right to turn down service to anyone so long as it is not discriminative
Siku not if you run a bakery and you don't want to sell to gays. It's the man's constitutional right to care so they are violating his constitutional rights.
I see alot of debate on these comments (some more civil than others) about this issue and if these managers handled the situation properly but no real inside information from someone who has actually worked at Walmart. I worked at Walmart for 5 years as a store manager it was the first job I got right out of college. First off let me say that Walmart is definitely a publicly traded corporation my husband and I were very fortunate to own several shares when they took over Sam's Club and sold out to a very nice profit. I also want to point out that being a publicly traded company means that no one person owns Walmart out right. That being said the Walton family is still the controlling party owning 51% of the company.Every Walmart nation wide operates to the same policies as passed down by the board of directors. My understanding is that this took place in Texas and to my knowledge state law allows open carry. It has stated in Walmart policy as long as I worked there that store will comply to all state laws regarding customers constitutional rights. Basically if your state says you may open carry your Walmart does (or at least they should) I don't know what happened prior to the man filming and if he did anything for any moment to make an associate uncomfortable they he would have been asked to leave. Judging from the context that does not seem the case. Walmart is very accommodating to Military families for Active duty/Veterans and there spouses. For instance my husband is in the Army and when he left Fort Hood to Fort Carson my job was able to transfer and it made things incredibly easy on us. In this instance I honestly think it may have been a new manager possibly from another state that did not have an open carry law. If that is the case I don't think the man was out of line he asked a direct question that could have been answered and the fact it was not leads me to believe they did not know the answer and did not want to make them selves liable to corporate. If the man indeed contacted corporate I know that they sent in a District Manager to have a training session and possibly issue a private apology to the customer if even possible. So to conclude, in my opinion, the customer should not have been treated in such a way. It is told to our associate that when our doors are open we are open to everyone and everyone will be treated the same with the upmost respect. Being a publicly traded company means we are just as much a public space as a park. this is why they cannot refuse service to anyone with out a valid reason. Also why you see folks wearing what ever in the hell they want as long as it isn't exposing them selves as defined by law. Same reason I personal saw over 10 people come into the store late at night after having to much to drink and when police show up they do not ask a manager if they want to press charges it is automatically a public intoxication charge. I also want to point out as a firearm owner and concealed carrier I want to say it is always best to simply say yes sir and walk away upon the first time it is even hinted. And in direct response to the top comment from AR556NATO a manager absolutely under no circumstance can a manger ask a customer to leave for no reason what so ever. In fact I know of someone who lost their job for making an ex leave a store under claims that she was a shop lifter when in fact she had never had a single criminal charge in her life, they had no surveillance footage of her acting suspicious, and he never even let loss prevention know anything about her he just say her in an isle as she was shopping with a full cart of groceries and her new boyfriend. The store was sued, she of course won and ever since it has been a cautionary tale passed down from District Managers to Managers "if you make a customer leave you better have concrete justification and be able to cite directly where it says you followed procedure"
I kick people out all the time. And only half are ever given reasons. I'm not going to make one up, and get in trouble like that. It really is, because I don't like person or how they spoke to me. Most of the time, I kick you out. Your reason is "Because it's my store, and I fucking say so". Doesn't happen often, or for no reason. And it really doesn't matter if you agree with my reason or not. Because, my store. So, if a manager removes someone and gets in trouble for it. It's because the oversight doesn't agree with the method or the reason. But it doesn't make him wrong. It makes him at odds with his boss. Police will still enforce a no tresspass, without waiting for co-operate. I've been advised to ask first, but that's all.
Well then, all you have to do, is become the CEO of wal-mart. Because right now, that is the person calling the shot. FYI, paranoia much? You need to lose that mindset. You'll be too busy watching the muslim family buy groceries when the white tweeker comes up behind you. Burkas can hide things, sure. So can my coat, my bag, even my tits (in a shirt that is not fitted). And if they were concealing something, they would technically be following Wal-mart's policy, wouldn't they? Same as me. This video is only a case of a kid, who isn't legal to conceal carry, probably because of age. And I agree with wal-mart. Not old enough to drink, not old enough for a weapons permit. Means I don't trust that the kid is actually mature enough to be running around with a weapon. He's still at the age where he does it to be cool, show off, and as the video proves, to get attention. Most of us, actually want no attention on our weapon.
Man, you need to talk to them in a way that they'd understand. It'd be like a rocket scientist expecting you to understand how lithium ionization can support future radiation shields. "Are you uhhhh giving me my 267854333 dash 4578 by 566733 dash 2355 to breathe?"
Knowing all that stuff really isnt their job. They arent trained that way. They arent that smart and thats why they are in that job. Notice no one asked him to explain himself. They didnt care. They just wanted him gone which was why they just kept defaulting back to you need to leave.
Not on private property. You can record private property from public space... that is what is seeable from public space. But, some states have different definitions. There is a movement in our country to change what can be done or controlled on private property, but not successful yet. I have managed and now own a private famous business in CA AZ UT CO for 45 years and that's just how it is.
Because the customer is in their private property and "has no reasonable expectation of privacy" Its the same reason you can record while in public space.. persons in that space have no reasonable expectation... You can't record say in a restroom ie:
I am as "pro Second Ammendment " as they come and licensed to carry myself. This is one reason why I chose NOT to open carry. Why invite this type of treatment by people who are ignorant of the law and store policies.
Those are Texas Penal Code carry statutes. 30.06 states that concealed carry on the premises with such a sign is prohibited. 30.07 came about after open carry was passed by the state legislature, and states that open carry is prohibited. Basically, both signs means no guns, some places only display 30.07 signs prohibiting open carry only, but permitting concealed carry. Personally, I have never seen a place where open carry was prohibited, but concealed was ok. Usually its either yes or no as far as carrying is concerned.
I'm a LEO, and I can't tell you the number of MWAG calls I've responded to at walmart. It got so bad that while with a citizen carrying legally and the manager on duty challenging him, I took the time to get on my phone and call corporate for their policy. Walmart's policy, as told to me, was that in order to remain as neutral as possible on the firearms issue, that stores should simply follow whatever state law permits in the state that particular store happens to be in.
The store I work at would never do this we appreciate every person comes into the store people who carry you're the first line of defense and we appreciate it
theChosenOne _ He din't do nothing wrong he was actually calm,if you see the whole video ask the manager if he could pay for his stuff and leave or if theh want it dor him to leave the store
+J He didn't clearly ask if they were asking him to leave either. "Am i being given 30.07 verbal notice?". Isn't the same as asking "are you asking me to leave?" Nobody knows what that bullshit means.
I open carry in Walmart all the time, and I haven't had any issues with any management whatsoever. I've even open carried when deputies were present, and still had no issues. I live in Virginia, and we are an open carry state. I also have my CHL, so it wouldn't be a problem if I needed to carry concealed. I was talking to the manager one day in sporting goods, and we got into a discussion about guns because he was looking at getting a new handgun, all while I was open carrying. He did mention that he appreciated me carrying because he felt it was a deterrent to someone willing to do something stupid. Like he said, it is just Walmart management that doesn't know anything about their own stores policies.
but policy does not trump law, their policies have to comply with the various state and federal laws. They can get away with the video thing because it as you say and i agree it is private property and not public. The open/conceal carry "policy" they have has to comply with the appropriate gun laws, and since their sign was vague he was not at fault, its a technicality for sure but he was still in the right and the officer at the end knew that and did not pursue the matter. Its just like the hospital i work at part time, as a LEO i can not just kick someone out, they have to have broken the law, or been discharged by the staff and refusing to leave which is trespass. Policy does not trump law is the bottom line
Isn't wallmart private property? Because if it is, I don't think you are allowed to film there once they ask you to stop. Also, what is the problem with them not wanting people to carry guns like you did?
Did they have the sign at the door or not? They probably had one sign anyone who's been to a store might have seen " we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone".
rico Pasi Texas requires a specific sign in both English and Spanish to stop open carry by a licensed to carry holder under 30.07, but they can obviously ask you to leave via a verbal request at any time for any reason. If they don't want people open carrying, they simply need to post the 30.07 signs as required by law and it would be illegal for him to enter the store in an open carry condition. I.e., the cop would have been able to charge him with a class c misdemeanor.
Wal-mart has never asked me to leave their store while shopping with my .357 strapped on my side I am a citizen only ex military and they have never bothered me or even asked to see my permit ..
Omg i was reading this comment right before he popped up and i started laughing on how spot on my scrolling down to read the comment and back up was xD
M J yup! Good man. Police need to stop harassing gun owners. He didn't do anything wrong nor was suspected of doing wrong so no need to ask for papers officer wally
Patrick McCreight. I And my son were in a bad truck wreck a few months ago. I have a permit and was carrying concealed. I had broken bones and was bleeding. The paramedics wanted to treat Mr on the scene. I walked over to a county cop on scene and told him I had a permit and was carrying and was going to hand my pistol over to my son and that he had a permit also. I didn't want to just pull it out and freak them all out. Even though I was bleeding all over a d barely standing and had told him about the gun and both myself and son had permits he asked to see mine. I thought this was silly. Taking time to check my permit in the shape I was in. If I was trying to hide It from him because I did not have a permit I sure wouldn't have told him about it. He barely glanced at my permit when I got it out and didn't even check my son. He did seem almost embarrassed about asking to see it afterwards. I just thought it odd to ask in that situation after I had been so upfront and honest about the situation.
I live for the day when I will hear on the news that Walmart is going out of business... because of their deceitful work ethics and for harrassing their own customers.
This man was most likely doing stuff like playing around with the handle while browsing or something because I have opened carried into numerous different walmarts now and never once been stopped or approached.
@Cynthia B, Yeah I have no idea how people run into complaints. I've walked around many different walmarts in several states now with my Sig and only been approached once with a 'you're making people uneasy, is there anyway I can speed up your visit' sort of thing.
Lydia Hopkins if your open carrying a handgun that’s alright most people won’t do anything (unless it’s in California lol) but it’s a little overkill to have an assault rifle or shotgun. You just give yourself attention you don’t need and if there is a criminal in the store they will take you out because they know your a potential threat to the criminal so that’s why it’s safer and smarter to conceal carry.
You are only partially correct. Yes, Wal-Mart is an essentially "privately" owned business, but many of the "private business" perks went out the window when the company began public stock offerings. Secondly, isn't Texas an open carry state? If it is, (I've had similar arguments in Florida) then Wal-Mart policies do not trump (no pun intended) state law. Many retail stores seem to be sorely lacking in understanding as to where their corporate rules stand in relation to actual LAW! Most need serious remedial training. Third, surrounding a guy with a gun just doesn't seem that smart to me. Fourth; I agree that I would rather have my weapon concealed. Kind of a surprise for anyone with nefarious ideas.
Zee captain I didn't want a coffee. My girlfriend loved the place. Went in daily. Had to spend at least $80 a week there. She was sick would i went to get her a coffee. The things I do for love. 😂
Stingy I watched the video you had... I was sitting in my recliner and I had my 1911 sitting on the lamp table and I grabbed it when you started banging. Scared the shit out of me. I thought someone was trying to break down my door for a split second.
The gun can't set it off. It's just there security system that's on things they sell. probably the guy in front with the buggy. Shouldn't be anything on a gun to make it go off.
I was once patted down by police because of my uniform they thought I had my service weapon but I didn't they pointed to a bulge in my pants and I said that's me your pointing at that ain't no gun lmfao
Lt Colonel Nikolai Petrovich Radchenko dude..... get a fucking life lmao pretending to be Russian yet your entire profile is in English.... along with your picture being from a fucking movie is hysterical.
Arguing about whether there is a sign or not, is not respecting the private property. Better to leave no impression than to leave a bad impression which can linger onto future gun carriers.
***** "private" is used in juxtaposition to "public(i.e. government)" Whether property is private or public(government) determines whether constitutional limitations apply. That is, for public property, the government has no right to have you leave if it allows similarly situated persons to remain. Not so with any "private" property (regardless of the number of owners)
2Truth4Liberty if the law requires that they post a specific sign in order to disallow weapons in the store then he is well within his rights to point it out if they don't have the correct sign posted
akshooter271 The law does not require any sign, nor could it. It is the property owner's right to decide if/when to allow/disallow ANYTHING (not just weapons). Thus, the weapon carrier had NO right to remain even if there was no sign.
2Truth4Liberty you should research different state laws man. They are not all the same and as such some states deem places that have unrestricted public access as public places and require require notification for things like that.
akshooter271 RE: [[[ you should research different state laws man ]]] And I think that you need to research. ALL laws for trespass require notification - but that does not mean that notification must be by signage. Find ONE that does, then we'll talk.
Although I support open carry. You are wrong about recording. You are on private property and legally they can tell you to stop recording. It's called private property with public domain. That's the only thing I did not like about this. You should do your research before saying stuff like that
Thank you for open carrying and posting your experience. Those that have made negative comments didn't watch the same video I did. You were simply shopping and the staff failed to follow corporate policy. Keep open carrying and contact corporate. They have a good track record of correcting the issue.
Why? He obeyed the letter and spirit of the law, as well as obeying Walmart corporate policy. He asked the managers if they were going to obey Walmart policy and the law, and when they refused to either order him out or obey their own policy he kept asking for clarification. When the store manager finally stopped dithering, made a decision and actually told him to leave, he left. Exactly as the law said he should. How is any of this a lesson on how not to behave?
Im all for 2nd amendment, open carry. What tipped me off this guy was more concerned about making a video and not someone who for no reason had his rights stripped and was oppressed by authorities for minding his own business. Was when he started stating legal code to the employee. Asking him if they were referring to 30.07, then saying well their wasn't any signs about firearm restrictions, which after checking the manager said yes on all 3 entrances, which he then said oh those, well the verbage wasn't correct in regards to code 30.07. I mean these people are walmart employees, not cops and lawyer's. To argue with them citing federal statute code is asinine. The fact he saw the signs and deciding to ignore them or thought it didn't pertain to his situation or circumstances of how he was carrying is just being an ass and proves his intentions were more concerned with conflict. It'd be like acting surprised when asked to leave the store for carrying a firearm and saying "well the sign said no guns or firearms allowed, and technically this grenade launcher is classified by the government and ATF as an explosive projectile weapon not a gun or firearm" it's people like this more concerned about publicity than exercising their rights, that end up doing more harm than good for 2nd amendment
@E Dublin How wrong you are. Wording is everything. Some years back. A man in my state got pulled over in a pickup truck for not wearing a seat belt. The man argued receiving a ticket because state law required a seat belt be worn while "operating a car". Now everyone knows all vehicles require a seat belt to be worn but a pickup truck is not a car and the law clearly stated "car". The case went all the way to the state Supreme Court and the man one. From that point on, only passengers in cars had to wear seat belts until the wording of the law was changed. If walmart wants to have policies on not allowing open carry. Then they need to be precise with no grey area. The purpose of the video was so walmart could be held accountable for any misinformation they gave this man whether it be or purpose or on accident. Video is also how companies get exposed for this sort of thing.
You're on private property owned by Wal-Mart. If they don't want you toting a gun around in their store then they have every legal right to ask you to leave their property.
IOWNA11 your right but to not have stuff like this happen where walmart employs have to go to a "gun toting" person.. they should have a sign that says no open carry not not a sign that says no open carry unless allowed
IOWNA11 private property open to the public stating concealed carry is allowed but doesn't say open carry is not allowed. If it states no open carry when entering it wouldn't be an issue.
jp5ftw it doesn't matter if the property is owned or leased(and Walmart does own most of the properties) as long as Walmart is occupying that space they make the rules, period.
Wal-Mart is not a "public place" for the purposes of unauthorized recording. You need to do a bit more research on your laws if you're going to be a self-proclaimed activist. I recommend you consult a lawyer before doing this to avoid getting yourself into unnecessary legal trouble.
I can't believe there are still people on this planet who are not aware you are not allowed to record video inside a Walmart. This guy may have been able to defend his position if he hadn't started recording and gave the manager an opportunity to kick him out of the store.
the manager never had the right to confront him to begin with by walmart policy. the staff is in the wrong and as usual none of them know their jobs or the limits of what they are allowed to do. by policy they cannot approach anybody with a firearm period
Larry Archer yes they can. Walmart being private property has every right to ask him to leave with his firearm. Walmart has every right to ask any person or group to leave and really doesn't ever need a reason to do so. My local sore doesn't approach people carrying open but we are in a very low crime rate area. San Antonio is however a different story. If another customer complains about it being visible Walmart will ask you to conceal or leave. I'm starting to think people are going to places like this to get videos like this. It's sad really.
Dustin Serio ok you didn't read what I said, by company policy no they cannot. I used to be AP there and am far more familiar with policy than you or even most managers and dam near 100% more associates. The first part of AP training is a month of studying policy. The average store associate can't even approach shoplifters and management is frowned upon for doing it. Now that said, THEY CANNOT APPROACH YOU BY POLICY IF YOUR CARRYING A GUN. By law they can ask you to leave but they will be breaking policy by doing it so therefore if they ask you to leave tell them np but you will be calling coorporate and reporting them by name for breaking policy and harrassing an innocent shopper who will no longer be spending money in their store. The person who approached you will probably lose their job.
Whatever you say boss. Side note Walmart policies have changes almost weekly so your "used to" bit is worthless. Also corporate is just going to kick it over to the market manager or market HR manager. All it takes it one customer to complain and there is no breach in policy. Probably had the customer with the complaint write a statement and give contact info and that will be all they need to cover anyone's ass involved. Store managers discretion has a lot to do with it too. But your former asset protection experience would be all the information anyone ever needs.
Matthew If I put on a Star Wars tee-shirt and some anti-Star Wars person feels uncomfortable that I'm wearing it, then is it right for me to be forced to buy another shirt, put it on and throw away my Star Wars shirt? Think about it.
he actually wasn't doing his job, he isn't allowed by policy to approach anybody with a firearm period. he was violating policy and should be written up
Dylan A He was actually pretty cool,he ask the manager if thy wanted it to leave the store. How i wish you could sue people for not knowing store policy in talking about wal mart workers
GhostCrisp86 most of them don't get shit for training now which is proven if you have ever let one of the cashiers bag your groceries lol. its sad that most of the management don't even know the policies but thats what happens when a company hires people with no experience and puts them in roles of authority.
Did you even watch the video? The store didn't have 30.07 signs posted so the store manager has no reason to say "it's supposed to be concealed". No 30.07 sign = open carry is allowed. Why are they harassing him for open carrying?
Steve is correct. I'm pro gun and proud of it, but private property is just that. When asked to leave you must do so or face prosecution. You would expect no less if this was your property.
Ricky Malloy You did not understand at all what he was saying. They were telling him to turn off the phone, he told them no because it's open to the public so he's legally allowed to record.
Brandon Page you misunderstand what I am saying. he was asked to leave the store by a member of the management staff at that point he needs to say ok and leave. NOT pull what he did. he could have gotten arrested for trespassing had the police officer wanted because a Walmart manager requested he leave and he decides to argue instead of cooperating. let the public see what a childish person he is. this is why police have such a hard time enforcing and protecting.
He did leave. If you go into a business open to the public and are asked to leave, you don't have to drop everything and go into a dead sprint out the door. He did not refuse to leave he only asked for clarification as to why.
andythecoderman and he continued to question the member of management. until the police were actually called. had he stayed he more than likely would have been criminally tresspassed. much like if you open your door to the public. you ask a person to leave. you expect them to leave. not argue with you.
People shouldn't act like tools and open carry a gun just so they can say "I know my rights" and act like a smart ass. We have concealed carry for a reason, lets not push it with open carry so we still have it when we actually need it. There is a TIME and a PLACE for open carry...Walmart is not the place that's for certain. I love the fact that we have open carry and would like to keep that right to open carry...people like this only hurt that matter.
@@goodtimefishing1499 it's a right that needs to be used more. Back in the day practically everyone was packing. Wtf AMERICA .

@@goodtimefishing1499 There was a time in this country when open carry was the norm, and if you concealed your weapons you were thought to be "up to no good". If I am not threatening anyone, what business is it of ANYONE what I have on my person? Do you really "feel better" if you DON'T know if anyone around you is armed? Do you have a problem with someone having a knife on their belt or in their pocket? You "might" be injured or killed just as easily with a knife as with a gun, but nobody is crying about "knife violence" or trying to regulate and ban knives yet.
@ I'm in favor of your statement, I just wish we had States do some job security policies. Often the law abiding gun owner experiences an immediate job termination for exercising their Rights at the work place.
Stop shopping at Walmart. It's that simple. I'm disabled and know Walmart is the cheapest in town and I still won't shop there. Walmart will get no more of my money. Ever.
lol? Walmart has good quality stuff. That is not even arguable. . No Walmart then what? target? They are the exact same thing. Unless you want to go to dollar store?
Shelby Tydings I don’t see how people have issues carrying in wal mart I walk in do what I need to do . Always have license ready to show and never not one issue. I had more issues carrying a dead GoPro in wal mart
So... just a few quick comments here... Here in Alabama, I have a friend who is in management for Walmart. On a couple of occasions, when notified by other employees that someone was in the store with an open carry firearm, their response is "Are they a threat? No, then leave them alone." Secondly, I have been told by the manager of a ABC store that we are perfectly able to carry our firearms into the store openly - much to my surprise!
***** No it's not. It's private property which is open to the public at the discretion of the owner. Civil rights and liberal judges not withstanding..
crisbian floyde so very true... ever notice that the great value brand is disappeRing from there shelves....ever notice the few remaining great value brands are often more expensive than the big brands...and sometimes contain less product
I love and respect people who open carry. A few days before Christmas 2018, we saw a man at our local Walmart, also in Texas, carrying a visable handgun on his waist. I was astonished by seeing this because we're in a small town. I realized Texas is now an open carry state. Made me happy to see someone exercising their right to do so. Once again, much love and respect to all law abiding open carriers!
Wrong or not... if they ask you to conceal it just say my bad and either conceal it or just leave. Don't argue it with this law BS you looked up before you went inside the store. They have no idea what you're talking about it. So just stop. You make us all look bad. Show some respect.
Dan Earl it is true... there may be the hard law where you are right but we gotta be respectful. Either conceal it and say my bad and go about your day or say my bad and head on out. I can't stand when people do this. It makes "us" look like assholes. All about respect.
They told him to leave and he DID leave. How the hell is fighting for our rights being a "grumpy prick?" Being respectful toward these anti gun people DOES NOT WORK! If you are gonna allow a snowflake railroad you and your rights, be my guest. Others like me will resist.
Chuck S literally missing my point. Nd no he didnt leave. Dude tried to talk about some stupid law numbers 30op7 or w.e the fuck he said. Nobody knows what hes talkin about. I didnt say let your rights go out the window either? I said be respectful and handle it properly. Arguing with some bs laws does nothing. All he had to do was conceal his fucking gun and he could have continued on shopping. Not that fucking hard. No need to be some idiot srguin law pages. Makes us look like dick heads.
I work at a Home Depot and I loaded for a guy who had open carry and even though the door has a sign that it’s a gun free zone, there still wasn’t any problem. This is bull
So is denying access to your private property for the grounds of not allowing open carriage on your premises, as long as they do not discriminate on the basis of disability or race or other categories recognized under the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. If you like your "rules" so much, try reading more than just the paragraphs that your hillbilly friends have read out to you.
ACDCRD thats what im saying...i know the law and i know he was legally protected...but its walmart like cmon now and he has it visible with a camera ready. sooooo seems like he wanted this reaction
Thirdcoast Soles i always carry at my walmart.... the cops are always getting called for something there.... and theres been several women assaulted in the parking lot and one kidnapping....you need your gun at all times...
BuckGreywolfe. here in ga. we have are reauired to have a license (which is fine by me) but your right i never get a second look and it isnt a problem .... however here in ga the business owner or a representative of the owner are legally entitled to allow or disallow the carry of firearms on there property...they however cannot dictate open or concealed carry ..the aforementioned also applys to homeowners ...be cool and keep carrying it may save your life someday...
I commented on issues before, but RUclips decided to bring me back to this. I'd like to point out person who recorded this never did show us the sign. So anyone assuming he's saying things right and taking negative of Walmart really can't speak on it. Seriously, if doing this and arguing, at least show proof.
Because we can and because we might want to protect our selves have u seen church shooting and robbery's going on the bad guy doesn't care if it's Walmart u never know use your brain next time before commenting please
So many mistakes made here.
1. You went to Walmart.
Yep. That's pretty much it.
lmao
theBarefoot I was thinking the same thing. A company Made based out of China, enough said.
That and a full staff of mexicans. "made in china" and Fully staffed by mexicans.
Fk im so fking racist.....
Now that was funny! Hats off to you!
theBarefoot yea with a rifle what a dumbass
Can we just give props to the cop at the end for knowing what power he had, and when to concede
My glock is like master card i dont leave home without it
generally, there are arguments you can win and arguments where you will go in circles. The best cops can tell the difference.
some cops do the circular arguments to keep you detained or beat you down to conceding to their demands.
It's amazing if you go to Walmart to buy something you can't get one employee to help you all you have to do is come in open carrying and you'll get everybody on the payroll to come assist you. Lol
Because they know you have a lot of money if you spending on a gun.
Omg so funny and so true lmao. @Matt Howell

Now that cop at the end was a good one. He didn't argue or avoid the question "am I being detained?"
Moto Hooligan IF he wished to continue to shop, he would then be detained so that he can see his license. Since it was agreed he would leave, no need to look at it. lol
Cwalt Cwalt is it if a law enforcement ask for ID or license for anything you have to show them? I'm just asking.
+Cwalt Cwalt you're joking right? Please tell me you're joking.
Raymond Martinez no. under your rights you can refuse to show a cop your ID, and you also have the right to refuse a search of a vehicle
Raymond it depends on the state. In Louisiana if ID is requested from a LEO you have to give them some sort of ID. It varys from state to state.
I'm as pro gun as it gets. However, the manager can ask you to leave private property anytime he wants. He doesn't need a reason.
+AR556NATO 1.) Which is why I left. 2.) Which is extremely bad policy.
+mark marchiafava .....what "corporation" what the hell are you talking about? Your comment makes no sense.
That Officer was AWESOME and upheld the CONSTITUTION. TRUE PROFESSIONAL
He probably thought it was bullshit too.
@@ang22380 It’s San Antonio Texas. Of course he thought it was bullshit.
They have full size bags of chips for $2.33?!?!
i can tell if you think its expensive or cheap
That's expensive AF lol.. In my country a bag like that would cost no more than $1.55.
aye bro's were they small or big bags, because if they were big you got a deal.
aye bro's oh ok
aye bro's chips should be around $2.00
He would only need reasonable suspicion to detain.
think it's Reasonable Suspicion to detain you and PC to arrest you..........
If I'm a bad guy and I see someone carrying open. That means you're first to get shot. What's the point? Just keep it concealed so you have a tactical advantage.
Mace S
He is Well within his rights to open carry. I do have the same opinion, open carry draws attention and you loose the element of surprise.
Mace S EXACTLY
John doug just wondering what is it that you people with guns are so afraid of why do you have to carry them with you everywhere you go
Walmart corporate stated that they will follow the state laws of weapons, so here in oklahoma we open carry all the time and no one cares
Thomas Pierce same over here in Arizona
Ye I'm in Oklahoma to
Same thing here in Montana, open carry state
same in wyoming, but there is a sign on the door stating "no concealed carry inside the store"
I literally open carry everywhere, all the time. Especially at Walmart. Never once has anyone said anything to me about it.
Same for me. never an issue.
Talon Vaughn guess it depends on the state. Glad to be a Georgia boy.
I live in Wisconsin at the moment.
I open carried Everytime I visited my parents who live in Milwaukee. Never had an issue.
Its pretty chill here.
as a gun owner and a person licensed to carry, I never open carry and never will. if you were in a situation where there was an active shooter you're basically standing there with a big red dot on your forehead. just conceal it! there's no reason to attract attention to it because in the end it's less safe to show it off.
Jeff Grigos even though that has literally never happened...
Exactly how i feel
Jeff Grigos there are no facts to back up.that claim. In a shooting situation seconds count. I can get to my open carried gun faster then you can get to your concealed. Could be the difference between living and dying.
The guy is open-carrying... not one customer is freaking out... just the store employees. What a mess.
John Curry I open carry in Wal-Mart all the time. Never had a problem.
Spartan Merc...ugh the Green Turtle is terrible.
John Curry how do you know what the other customers said or thought? Not clearly stated.
John Curry I feel safer with ppl carrying guns
Last I checked Walmart is a business...on private property. They don't have to have a reason to kick you out, they can tell you to leave or ban you with or without reason, right? It's open to the public, but it's not public property.
They can't have a sign saying its lawful to do something, then kick you out for doing it.
+girzwald3 Yes, they can.
Eliza Ehrlich
No, they can't. I'm not privy to the store managers handbook or corporate policy, but I can guarantee you, it will say something to effect of if you are going to throw someone out of the store, they have to be breaking some sort of rule. Or causing some sort of problem. Following posted rules by definition, is neither of those things.
+Eliza Ehrlich No they won't if they want to continue to be a Walmart associate.
girzwald3 sure they can, corporate policy is not law and so they leave each event up to manager discretion.
I'm just surprised you got 3 people to help you , Everytime I go , ain't nobody "working" there.
That's why that lady didn't surprise me asking where , whatever she was looking for , at, she took advantage.
Only had 3 people helping him because he wasn't checking out. Lol
Lol
"You get more with a kind word and a gun than with just a kind word." - Al Capone
You must be an inbred piece of shit who think is totally normal to see a person carrying a gun for everyone to see at a walmart. Of course everyone will notice dumb fuck
George Soros's favorite Shekel he could be from Alabama as kids say these days. How u knew its german?
What Walmart is posted? I've carried in a dozen Walmart's.
Why though? What is the point... If you are that scared of a Walmart that you need a GUN, then the us is really going to shit
+Sina Ramandi because what if someone is robbing the store and is putting you and your family at risk?
This man has the right to protect himself no mater I bet.... if someone came in shooting the place up and a LTC holder stopped the threat... and the gunman was coming at you... your opinion would be different
If there were no guns in america, no one would come shooting up the place
+Sina Ramandi "if there were no guns in the world " , now back to reality, there are and always will be. Now dealing with reality and not what if make believe scenarios, people have the right to defend themselves. If you don't like it, move to one of those great places that guns aren't allowed and enjoy criminals being criminals not following the laws already and see how great your life is when you really can't defend yourself. You will either be dead or close to dying and back to the USA in no time.
Give him his 30-07 ,whatever that is. I'd rather have a 30-06 though.
Adam Zaidi no problem.
Walmart doesn't even have 30.07 or 30.06 signs the only sign they have at the Walmart i go to are it is illegal to carry a handgun without a license
You know Walmart is a private business right? They have the right to restrict firearms from their store.
DrGodfather14 But if I wanted to carry a .30-06, that'd be okay?
Unerring 01 open carry of rifles is legal, 30.06 signs ban conceal carry
RingWraith75 it is a public store and still is on the same law as everyone else and if there is nothing in their policy saying he can't have it and there is no policy about that then they should not have confronted him
Josh P I saw a guy walk into Wal-Mart a few weeks ago with a Glock on his hip. I didn't bat an eyelash, of course. Figured we was an off-duty officer or something. He looked the type. Could've just been your average Joe, too. I don't understand people that call the police over a gun. If he was pacing back and forth, looked nervous, or anything like that I could understand.

My question was rhetorical; but since you replied, just curious who you are referring to?
Douchebags like this push things to far that's why!!!!
Because some guy walked into a K-Mart and loaded the pistol and walked out with it.
+Miller Matt
So it's completely legal to Open Carry... but buying groceries while doing something completely legal is pushing things too far?
I missed something here.... either it's okay and legal.. or it's not. You can't say "Well.. you can do it... you just can't go shopping.. walking.. hiking... jogging... or watch porn while doing it."
Not sure where this happened Jake Jones, but here in good ole WV I have bought a few guns at wal mart and ammo to go with them. Their only policy is that they have to walk the gun as far as the door before handing it over. On another note we have been an open carry state for a long time and are now a constitutional carry state, meaning we can carry concealed without a permit, and I have seen many people dong this with no problems.
wow a cop that actually let you go for not breaking the law thats a miracle
Stfu you sheep
You lack knowledge.
He didn't get shot either
Why do you guys keep pushing. They clearly don't understand what the rules are
Walmart or the Law abiding citizen?
Not sure what you mean by that. Are you saying since Wal-Mart employees don't understand the rules, he shouldn't open carry?
Previous comment.... Well put!
Managers go by policy till it suits them otherwise.
Because my uneducated friend, Ignorance is NEVER an excuse.
Seemed like he was fully aware to me bud.
he got kicked out because he was recording not because he was open carrying a fire arm it's against Walmart policy to record on their property
Am I the only one bothered by the fact that he left through the enter
Eye twitches. I was just noticing this as well.
That's the real crime in this video 🤣
Austin Friedner😂😂😂
nibbs84 True but that’s only if the cop is detaining you.
And if you noticed the cop let him go without a single word to challenge him because the cop knew he had absolutely no lawful reason to detain him.
in kentucky there signs dont mean anything anyway they can ask you to leave if they do and give you time to leave and you dont you can be tickeeted fro trepass but thats about it
Walmart can kick u out for any reason
this isn't Communist Korea Kim!
colton davis You're right, it's America. and in America private companies have the right to turn down service to anyone so long as it is not discriminative
Kim Jong-un that is true but he was asking what for like you just said any reason what was the reason
Siku not if you run a bakery and you don't want to sell to gays. It's the man's constitutional right to care so they are violating his constitutional rights.
No they cannot
The store was sued, she of course won and ever since it has been a cautionary tale passed down from District Managers to Managers "if you make a customer leave you better have concrete justification and be able to cite directly where it says you followed procedure"
thank you for taking the time to clear that up ma'am and thank your husband for his service to this country!
Susan Harrington I will say that I do believe the Waltons sold out. I'm not positive on that, but fairly certain. Lol.
Susan Harrington A lot of reading but well said. Also thankyou for sharing this so others can get educated haha.
Most of us, actually want no attention on our weapon.
sorry bro I work for Walmart we have this guy who comes in all the time with his pistol open carry he makes me feel safe
Man, you need to talk to them in a way that they'd understand. It'd be like a rocket scientist expecting you to understand how lithium ionization can support future radiation shields.
"Are you uhhhh giving me my 267854333 dash 4578 by 566733 dash 2355 to breathe?"
Ain't nothing worse than expecting someone to know their job
Knowing all that stuff really isnt their job. They arent trained that way. They arent that smart and thats why they are in that job. Notice no one asked him to explain himself. They didnt care. They just wanted him gone which was why they just kept defaulting back to you need to leave.
They should of known what 30-07 meant hell they work there
He said 30-07 and then gave a brief title description of what that is. The problem is clearly just a language barrier.
Why can they film customers and their employee's every move, yet we can't do the same?
Because its private property.
+kong3 you can record for your legal protection
Not on private property. You can record private property from public space... that is what is seeable from public space. But, some states have different definitions.
There is a movement in our country to change what can be done or controlled on private property, but not successful yet.
I have managed and now own a private famous business in CA AZ UT CO for 45 years and that's just how it is.
+kong3 wrong.
Ron M. Because these morons want their 15 minutes of RUclips fame
dknisle1 all this guy did was have a handgun on his hip
Hey Ron do you think this guy is trying to educate or is just looking for his 15min of fame? Oh btw can some one post what is 30.06 and 30.07 thanks
They told you to leave. Shop elsewhere. Stop hurting the cause.
That's not always an option
@@fisheater6 lmao then just conceal it EASY
K-ys tyrant
I'm a LEO, and I can't tell you the number of MWAG calls I've responded to at walmart. It got so bad that while with a citizen carrying legally and the manager on duty challenging him, I took the time to get on my phone and call corporate for their policy. Walmart's policy, as told to me, was that in order to remain as neutral as possible on the firearms issue, that stores should simply follow whatever state law permits in the state that particular store happens to be in.
The store I work at would never do this we appreciate every person comes into the store people who carry you're the first line of defense and we appreciate it
I can’t believe the cop at the end complied
i agree with open carry but you dont need to act like a social justice warrior just do what what they ask
theChosenOne _ He din't do nothing wrong he was actually calm,if you see the whole video ask the manager if he could pay for his stuff and leave or if theh want it dor him to leave the store
so so true learn the fucking laws you weak ass people are fucking up are right
He is the exact Opposite OF A SJW YOU FUCKING IDIOT. He is doing nothing more than what every American should still be doing. Carrying a firearm
"do what they ask" yessa massa....whateva you saya massa.
+J
He didn't clearly ask if they were asking him to leave either.
Walmart is a PRIVATE business. They can ask you to leave for any reason. And if you refuse they can have u forceably removed.
but policy does not trump law, their policies have to comply with the various state and federal laws.
What do u mean forcefully remove. Do u mean beat the crap out of u and drag u out?. Please clarify.
ryontammy he means have the cops remove you
Oh i thought like that doctor who got his ass beat and drag out of the airliner
It's not private anyone can buy stocks but it is private employment which still means jack shit
I.e., the cop would have been able to charge him with a class c misdemeanor.
rico Pasi they have a can't have gun if you are unlicensed that's it
other929 30.07 would just be for open carry they need both 30.07 and and 30.06. And no Wal-Mart in tx has them
Wal-mart has never asked me to leave their store while shopping with my .357 strapped on my side I am a citizen only ex military and they have never bothered me or even asked to see my permit ..

property managers do have the right to say you can not open carry. due to it being private property.

whats with people using the term savage so loosely nowadays, this dude is hardly a savage
M J how does that make him a “savage” it’s the law everyone has those rights?
M J yup!
Patrick McCreight, it’s his job. He has a right to ask, you have a right to say no. End of story.
I live for the day when I will hear on the news that Walmart is going out of business... because of their deceitful work ethics and for harrassing their own customers.
the wal-mart I worked at never said anything to anyone comming in wearing a gun.
This man was most likely doing stuff like playing around with the handle while browsing or something because I have opened carried into numerous different walmarts now and never once been stopped or approached.
@Cynthia B, haha probably. It only takes one person triggered to cause a chain reaction of triggered people.
I saw a guy in my store with an 1858 New Army
i would have called the non emergency number and said my 2nd amendment is being taken away
Lol that would be funny
Torin awsome any privately owned buisness can kick you out for any reason
I'm as pro-gun as they come and YOU ARE A MORON

Note to self: Having trouble finding the manager to get in the ammo case - switch to open carry.
Funny how that alarm went off by the gun because I conceal ALL THE TIME and never has it gone off!
....it didn't go off because of the gun.
YoureAPillock. I might be wrong but it looked like it to me.
Todd T it went off well before he went past the things.
The gun can't set it off. It's just there security system that's on things they sell. probably the guy in front with the buggy. Shouldn't be anything on a gun to make it go off.
lol those things aren't metal detectors.....
Complaining you can't flash your gun in a wal-mart with a McDonald's at the entrance, this is the most American video I've ever seen...

madtoastboy lol up here in Canada every Walmart I’ve been in (probably around 30) has had a McDonalds, thought that was normal!
I was once patted down by police because of my uniform they thought I had my service weapon but I didn't they pointed to a bulge in my pants and I said that's me your pointing at that ain't no gun lmfao

Arguing about whether there is a sign or not, is not respecting the private property.
Better to leave no impression than to leave a bad impression which can linger onto future gun carriers.
*****
"private" is used in juxtaposition to "public(i.e. government)"
Whether property is private or public(government) determines whether constitutional limitations apply.
That is, for public property, the government has no right to have you leave if it allows similarly situated persons to remain.
Not so with any "private" property (regardless of the number of owners)
2Truth4Liberty if the law requires that they post a specific sign in order to disallow weapons in the store then he is well within his rights to point it out if they don't have the correct sign posted
akshooter271
The law does not require any sign, nor could it. It is the property owner's right to decide if/when to allow/disallow ANYTHING (not just weapons). Thus, the weapon carrier had NO right to remain even if there was no sign.
2Truth4Liberty you should research different state laws man. They are not all the same and as such some states deem places that have unrestricted public access as public places and require require notification for things like that.
akshooter271
RE: [[[ you should research different state laws man ]]]
And I think that you need to research.
You should do your research before saying stuff like that
No, they can't tell you to stop recording. All they can do is ask you to stop recording then ask you to leave if you refuse.
You don't need a concealed weapon permit in Arizona but having had our Wal-Mart manager discuss the policy this Wal-Mart handled it wrong.
Thank you for open carrying and posting your experience. Those that have made negative comments didn't watch the same video I did. You were simply shopping and the staff failed to follow corporate policy. Keep open carrying and contact corporate. They have a good track record of correcting the issue.

A lesson how NOT to behave when open carrying a firearm.
You are wrong about recording. You are not in public but private property. If they don't want you to record it's their right.
john Quinones...and we roll again "😂😂😂"
@E Dublin
How wrong you are.
He has a license to carry!
E DubZ watch the video again. He has a license to carry which the sign said
You're on private property owned by Wal-Mart.
IOWNA11 usually Storrs like this they don't own the property it's self. 9/10 it's a leased property with a separate owner not apart of walmart
jp5ftw it doesn't matter if the property is owned or leased(and Walmart does own most of the properties) as long as Walmart is occupying that space they make the rules, period.
IOWNA11 it's completely legal to carry in walmart because they don't have signs saying otherwise.
Follow up letter from Walmart???
Dustin Serio
ok you didn't read what I said, by company policy no they cannot.
But your former asset protection experience would be all the information anyone ever needs.
i understand that you CAN open carry, but if it continues to make people uncomfortable why would you keep doing it?
Because Fuck people and how they feel.
Matthew If I put on a Star Wars tee-shirt and some anti-Star Wars person feels uncomfortable that I'm wearing it, then is it right for me to be forced to buy another shirt, put it on and throw away my Star Wars shirt? Think about it.

That's the probablem with America. People are too busy worried about other people think rather than living their lives.

Private property come on the guy is doing his job .. I believe in the 2nd amendment too but don't be an ass about it
Dylan A what part was he being an ass?
he actually wasn't doing his job, he isn't allowed by policy to approach anybody with a firearm period. he was violating policy and should be written up
Dylan A He was actually pretty cool,he ask the manager if thy wanted it to leave the store. How i wish you could sue people for not knowing store policy in talking about wal mart workers
GhostCrisp86
most of them don't get shit for training now which is proven if you have ever let one of the cashiers bag your groceries lol. its sad that most of the management don't even know the policies but thats what happens when a company hires people with no experience and puts them in roles of authority.
Did you even watch the video? The store didn't have 30.07 signs posted so the store manager has no reason to say "it's supposed to be concealed". No 30.07 sign = open carry is allowed. Why are they harassing him for open carrying?
Dude...they can kick you out of the store for any reason. It's private property
which is why he left dumbass
you clearly missed the point of the whole thing
Miguel Guzman there is no point.
Steve is correct. I'm pro gun and proud of it, but private property is just that. When asked to leave you must do so or face prosecution. You would expect no less if this was your property.
ummmmmm. the manager is asking you to leave. a business can ask you to leave. it is not public property.
Am I being detained? I conceal carry everywhere i go. Legal or not, not getting caught with my pants down.
I just have so much respect for that officer a lot of videos that I watch they would demand that ID
I love the open carry folks. It's a chance to get first hand feedback on why they picked what they picked.
So we should lose our open carry right which results in a privilege...aka permit
Ever.
i avoid it like the plague, especially seems how around my area they are starting to be almost the most expensive place in town
lol? Walmart has good quality stuff. That is not even arguable.
.
No Walmart then what? target? They are the exact same thing. Unless you want to go to dollar store?
Toby dog I do go to both
anybody that claims walmart has good quality stuff has no credibility
I sure walmart gives 0 fucks
Idk about everywhere but here there is no permit or license to carry a gun open carry. I’m not sure what they are even asking for?
I open carry at Walmart all the time. No one ever tells me a thing. I wonder why ? Lol
Cause they're scared of the guy that brings a gun to public places to feel like a big boy.
They think you're a cop 😆🤣 same happens to me i open carry at Walmart and no problem whatsoever 😁😆
Oh shit you have a McDonalds at your entrance? I have a subway thank god.
I always open carry in wal mart and never had 1 issue. I open carry daily unless the place says no open carry conceal only.
Reynaldo Rivera I do the same. i go into walmart all the time. Never have an issue.
FYI, You have no 1st or 2nd amendment rights on someone else's property...
Mat Helm true technically the owner could have shot him...
If he didn't get out
***** No it's not. It's private property which is open to the public at the discretion of the owner. Civil rights and liberal judges not withstanding..
***** Yes it can be said at any point. But in this case, there were signs at every entrance... And they do own...
***** It's in the video.. The guy verifying on the radio that signs were in place..
Looking at the prices of those goods Walmart is not as cheap as people make out!
crisbian floyde so very true... ever notice that the great value brand is disappeRing from there shelves....ever notice the few remaining great value brands are often more expensive than the big brands...and sometimes contain less product
CageKicker what you said makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
I wear my AAM EVERY DAY IM OFF LOL
Here's the solution. Conceal carry. Problem solved 👍
KevlarKev mine as well say don't carry a gun. Or why not don't own a gun....
Conceal carry is the pansy way out of the problem where society has not yet gotten accustomed to bearing arms.
I'll fly with that. Authorized both but prefer openly when casually around town. Much faster access to the weapon if I need it quickly.
Where is that Walmart? I work at one and often see people walkin... shop...and dont get harrassed for "open carry"
FYNE FITNESS best answer I've seen yet. Thank you
Dan Earl it is true... there may be the hard law where you are right but we gotta be respectful. Either conceal it and say my bad and go about your day or say my bad and head on out. I can't stand when people do this. It makes "us" look like assholes. All about respect.
Wes LaFever why the hell should we show respect to someone who has NO respect for our rights?!
That’s how the police interaction should go at the end
I don't understand the difference between one Walmart and another in my area it's got a sign all concealed guns must be open carried in store
Thumbs up for the cop at the end!
Probably the first video where I don't agree with the gun holder
I used to live in Southeast military drive when I worked at Boeing! I've been in that Walmart many times! God I miss San Antonio

I work at a Home Depot and I loaded for a guy who had open carry and even though the door has a sign that it’s a gun free zone, there still wasn’t any problem. This is bull
Open carry is legal
So is denying access to your private property for the grounds of not allowing open carriage on your premises, as long as they do not discriminate on the basis of disability or race or other categories recognized under the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. If you like your "rules" so much, try reading more than just the paragraphs that your hillbilly friends have read out to you.
obviously did this on purpose...just begging for attention bringing a gun to walmart lol you going grocery shopping not to afganistan 😂
You clearly don't know anything about carrying a gun.. He brings it for safety it doesn't matter where you are.
So he's the only one that feels unsafe in a Walmart?
BuckGreywolfe. here in ga. we have are reauired to have a license (which is fine by me) but your right i never get a second look and it isnt a problem .... however here in ga the business owner or a representative of the owner are legally entitled to allow or disallow the carry of firearms on there property...they however cannot dictate open or concealed carry ..the aforementioned also applys to homeowners ...be cool and keep carrying it may save your life someday...
I have no problem with open carry at Walmart
I commented on issues before, but RUclips decided to bring me back to this. I'd like to point out person who recorded this never did show us the sign. So anyone assuming he's saying things right and taking negative of Walmart really can't speak on it.
Seriously, if doing this and arguing, at least show proof.
Why do you need to open carry to Wal-Mart? Looking for a problem
Th ats why you're filming.
It's America duh
Because we can and because we might want to protect our selves have u seen church shooting and robbery's going on the bad guy doesn't care if it's Walmart u never know use your brain next time before commenting please
