For anyone thinking of buying an A45s then please take note! There are two different versions to go for here in the UK,non plus and plus.A large number of people think the only difference is that the plus version has the aero pack (spoiler and such like) ,but it is far more than that. The plus model also get the adaptive suspension,panoramic roof,better wheels,full leather seats,contrasting stitching on the dash,electric seats,multibeam LED headlights (these are AMAZING) ,extra graphics/info on the dash and a few other things that i can't remember lol We personally went for the plus version as it seemed good value (around £5K) for the extras you got.We have driven a couple of none plus models since getting ours and you do notice the step down from the second you step in. Also note that non of the extra you get with the Plus model can be spec'd on the non plus,so you couldn't say add adaptive suspension or the panoramic rood to the non plus model,it is all or nothing!

I got mine a week ago, sun yellow, real beast. Of course I am not pushing the car yet. 1500 km. to complete... This car is like a sleeping monster with business class airline comfort! I am very happy!
This is great, Nick. This is my favourite hatchback ever. I really love this little hatch. Mercedes-AMG really created a little beast. Even the Benz variant is lovely, of course. If you can, please also do more videos like this along with the others. There will be an S73 coming based on the new S-Class. Basically, it is a large V8 married to a huge electric motor. So like the E63 S that has a V8, but with a small electric motor. There will be other AMG 73 models coming in the future, but only for higher end Mercedes-Benz/AMG cars like the S-Class, cars in the GT family, and Roadsters. They are going to be insane. Hey, Nick. Thanks Sohail! Glad you liked it! Yup in terms of efficiency Eco will be your best bet but you’ll of course find the car won’t be as responsive due to the Eco setting. One added benefit to Eco is the Gliding mode which is almost like putting the car in neutral and coasting down the road. The car will do this automatically in Eco as long as it has sufficient operating temperature and there aren’t any cars too close in front.
@@amg4616 Car was ordered August '20, built 21/9/20 and will arrive Australia early December (then customs etc) . So not too bad. It's normal to have 4-5 months wait in Australia from order to delivery from Germany.

Had an RS3 on order from Jan 20 and kept getting told BS from Audi dealer. So I cancelled in Aug and ordered the AMG.

Hey Shane, ooo wow an A 45 S I can’t vouch for spec in other countries as it can vary massively. I know the A 45 S is a little quieter than the previous one here due to EU sound regulations. Might be completely different with you though! Regardless though, defo one of my favourite models, they are so fast! I love them to pieces!

What a fantastic car! Would be interesting to see the E63S AMG one day. My lotto winner car for sure. Another more practical video or at least something I have found with my E Class, is that I can’t find the hi vis vests which the instruction manual seems to show in the front door somewhere. Maybe they aren’t on all models, can’t find any in mine! Also, some guide on servicing - are service plans prepaid worthwhile? What is/isn’t included etc. Enjoying the vids, both interesting and informative thank you!

Hey Nick. It seems I can’t have the full screen mode for navigation in my center console. Where the dials get a bit smaller. I can just have the point of compas or a ”smaller” screen in the middle. Ah well that depends how fast you want to go! 👀 Just be aware that technically the Race mode is only for track use! Both modes have typically a louder exhaust than a comfort setting on DYNAMIC SELECT
Hi Nick Really enjoyed your video on the Mercedes-AMG A45S. I have been studying many of your videos over the past 3 months or so in readiness for delivery of my new Mercedes AMG CLA 45S+ Plus in Patagonia red, which has a similar engine to the A45S you tested. Your videos gave me a great deal of insight into the car’s controls and MBUX system. My car was delivered on 15 October 2020 by a covered transporter vehicle. Unfortunately, the Mercedes Me function had a bug in it which was sorted out by the tech team at Mercedes Me within a couple of days. It is now set up using the help of your guides to do so. A truly fantastic vehicle, the only thing I do not like is the rather cheap plastic gear selector stalk on the steering wheel, I’ll have to learn to live with it, but come on Mercedes, such a cheap item in a near £60,00 car, really? Pleased you mentioned the running in period which is essential for this engine’s wellbeing. I strictly follow the advice given in the AMG supplementary manual which covers the ‘break in’ period for the first 1000 miles. As advised, I am running the car in ‘Comfort’ mode. I will then increase power slowly and around 1200 miles have the oil and filter changed. Not in the service schedule I know but it has been my policy to do so in a performance car whether or not it has ‘running in’ oil in it. Thanks once again for your videos and I will certainly continue to watch them. I have subscribed to your channel.

For exact specs sunrise, best to check with your local Mercedes dealership as it varies from country to country and they can change overtime 🤓 I hope so! I remember those, they’re the ones I’d want! 👀

The touchpads are glossy black but the rest of it is kind of like a satin chrome effect. I watched it back and in a couple of clips, the sun and light kind of catch it in some areas making it look different to the other side. Both sides of the steering are the same :) Hope that answers your question!
It'll be interesting to see if once Britain leaves the EU fully, whether they can get the exhaust setups that places like the UAE currently get. Not being part of the EU, they aren't so quiet. Britain might be able to get such versions too. Brexit might be good for something :-)
What you`ve got to remember is these have come out of the factory to meet EU standards so are restricted to meet the rules, Take it somewhere like MSL or Gad to be tuned and have the exhaust worked on and you will have a Ferrari killer, and it will still be in the safe working parameters of the engine and gear box.
@@ianpollard6642 Yeah, totally. But the cars are coming out of the factory configured differently based on their destination country. Ones that are being delivered outside of the EU aren't so quiet. So the question is will UK cars arrive louder also post-brexit.
Well..I’ll be honest it’s a Vauxhall Astra, so really nothing special. It has Apple CarPlay so that’ll do! Saving for a house at the moment, but hey I get to experience the cars at Mercedes-Benz Poole. Had three A-Class’s in the past and I miss them! I’ll be getting one again someday! It might just be an AMG...who knows 👀
I’ve had two! I had an awesome A 250 Premium Package model (miss that car so much) and one of the latest A-Class too with the ambient lighting (also Premium Package) Both were amazing and as I said above I miss the first one! Wish I kept it! I will defo get one again one day!
We’ve have had the A180 D 15 plate and it was so dangerous so under powered 1.5 engine with real slow take off from roundabouts and gear changes were extremely poor!!!!!!
That doesn’t sound right; I have driven that car before and it was absolutely fine even to the point where I was considering buying one. Possibly something wrong with that particular car? Have you spoken to Mercedes? Or a garage to get it checked out?
Don’t think it’s them! In the UK there’s a team who choose what models / specs and engines come to the UK. I’m pretty sure it would be the same in the USA too!

Can confirm the Aus models come without OPF. Do a res delete or full catback and you'll open up those pops & crackles a lot more.

Hi Nick, the AMG Ride Control feature is actually the DYNAMIC select control on the centre console right?
Yeah that’s right, changing it from Comfort to Sport etc will change the suspension too as long as you have it.

We’ve have had the A180 D 15 plate and it was so dangerous so under powered 1.5 engine with real slow take off from roundabouts and gear changes were extremely poor!!!!!!
That doesn’t sound right; I have driven that car before and it was absolutely fine even to the point where I was considering buying one.
Possibly something wrong with that particular car? Have you spoken to Mercedes? Or a garage to get it checked out?

Not above 4,500 rpm
And not above 85mph
After 1,000 miles increase load slowly

Don’t think it’s them! In the UK there’s a team who choose what models / specs and engines come to the UK.
I’m pretty sure it would be the same in the USA too!
@@npoleary So we have to look for the folks here in the U.S. who've decided we're not worth having something as wonderful as an A45 (much less an A45S)? Anyone know where one can lodge a formal complaint. :)
