supermotos look more fun than sportbike I have a r1 starting to get bored plus I don't realy need r1 I do mostly round town riding and some twistys. got any advise
same here. sold my cbr1k. my supermoto with less than 1/4 of the power puts a bigger smile on my face every day than the litre bike ever did. and I can swap the wheels back into dual sport mode anytime and go hit the trails
DAMMIT If I would have known about you guys one year ago I would have never moved back to the Bay Area. And to make things worse they just closed the track in Stockton.
Would it be possible to ride a KTM 390 like in the video? (backing it in) stock standard? or is it too underpowered or the geometry of the bike is too "street-bike" too allow easy rear wheel sliding?
You can absolutely back in a street bike, especially on a tight track. My recomendation is don't try it, simply work on braking later and harder, and turning in harder, and you'll find the slide will develop naturally.
socalsupermoto Thanks for your reply! I've been riding it (Duke 390) on the local kart track for almost a year now. I have been doing the "BRAP" thing you mentioned in one video. But the rear doesnt break traction and doesnt seem to drift out much. Unlike the true supermotos.
The internet confuses me again. All of these bikes can go off road. I ride these in dirt every week. enduros/dual sport/supermoto all the same, they simply lean more dirt or street depending on owner preference.
The idea was to compare turn key california street legal supermoto's. Otherwise we left out a lot!

You left out the wr450, xr650L, and crf450x.
What you say for xr650r
I love riding em, but top heavy and I will never own a bike without estart again. 30 years, I'm over kick only bikes
