With u on the cv carb that FCR is PITA, I love the stock carb! I go with cannon Racecraft springs forks and shock... I’m gonna do a 2019 and upload for u guys
thanks for the video! i jused your front fork setting for now. Could you tell me a bit more details for the rear suspension? that would be great. greetings from austria :)
Can you do a video on how to do the suspension settings you mentioned? I just bought a drz and love you guys. Have found nothing on how to. Cheers! From Australia
Can you elaborate on your rear suspension setup? Given that there are four points for adjustment I’d like to know how you tune it in relation to the stock settings, e.g. high and low stroke speed and rebound damping. Or if you guys would like to stop by and do it for me, I’m down. 🤙🏼
If you wanna FCR carb swap a DRZ, dont buy the $800 kits. Those are for suckers. Get a 400E intake boot and a used FCR39 from a blown up 250f. Dont be a sucker.
@@socalsupermoto can you tell me more or less how long are lasting the rod bearings?? I got a 2008 Deezer and I have just done top end rebuild but people tell me rod should be changed after 30k km. Thanks. I'd love to come to your school but it's far far away from my country hahaha
I vastly prefer the throttle response with the FCR, but I come from strictly off road and motocross. I need the bike to do what I tell it to, immediately.
Best DRZ mod is take the spark plug out and put in a KTM. Drz is a good low-maintenance fleet bike though. Reliable and good enough for pavement. Especially if you're a streetbike guy. FCR is THE mandatory mod if you ride off road at all. Gotta have perky throttle response to shift weight rear quickly or lift the front wheel over whoops or logs/rocks hairpin corners etc etx. CV carb is junk off road. The E is the off road version and came with an FCR..
I can confirm that the 320mm chinese rotor is the business. By far the best brake mod on a supermoto.
Hi guys,
Possible to post the link to this rotor, please?
Thanks!
The Arashi?
Just bought a 2015 drz400sm yesterday!!! I ordered the rubber killers after seeing this
I hope everything is working out well for you, a very late congrats!
tony hawks brother
He gets the pretty often. He's not sure how he feels about it.
Yeah but can he do a handplant? (not a head plant)
Love the down and dirty practicality. You may know more about crashing deezers than anyone else in the world.
Practical, exactly! Crashing, YES.
i really like that you aren't some shop just advertising throwing on hundreds of dollars of gear.
Thanks man! Just trying to give the people the info they need!

Woop!
What gearing do you run for your DRZ on the track?
Great video. how to adjust the rear shock from the sm with fast and slow compression damping?
What's the exhaust slider? Is it DYI or branded stuff? Doest it really work?
Don't recall the brand but off the shelf. They work to an extent.

Which front number boards do you use? Thanks
Acerbis.
very informative thankyou so much :)
Happy to help!
damn, might have to take the headlight off and run a small light bar next season!
It's amazing how much all that wiring and everything weighs relative to the overall weight of the bike.
Do you prefer a particular brand and diameter of the front and rear SS lines? Thanks
No preference there, I havn't been able to feel a difference between different lines. Good question though

I'll add it to the list!

Is it even worth it? JD jet kit for the stock carb is good too right ?
How to I get ahold of you I have a few questions
all of our info and contact at socalsupermoto.com yew! Happy to help
You are a such a tall rider!! You could be 6’5” I think!
nah just 6'2 :)
@@socalsupermoto I’ve just bought a 2008 DR-Z400SM! Now it’s coming all the way from Japan! I can’t wait to see it! She will be here in three weeks!
What sprocket kit are you running
Stock gearing works fine for our students. For others depends on overall use of bike(street, dirt, track ect).
WHAT ARE THESE HANDLE BAR MOUNTS? MY FACTORY TOP PIECE
MY FACTORY TOP PIECE IS CRACKED
sorry for the late reply zeta top clamp is the way to go
How many miles are the bikes lasting with your abuse?
oh man we have some 70k mile drz. Heads are usually what goes followed by rod bearings. I'd be out of business without the drz!

Good video.I'm surprised that you run the stock seat.
Well, we don't spend too much time sitting on it so its a non issue.
Bike looks small next to him
Yeah, he's a little on the tall side but also perspective.
Anything else would be uncivilized
Any one have cold psi recommendations forvthe dunlop q3s
we do 23 track, 28 street
@@socalsupermoto23 front and back, 28 front and back?

what's weird is offroad is where i struggle with the fcr, specifially the slide moving landing jumps
You said 4x4 mod never heard of that one ik you meant 3x3 tho
you can drift easier with 4wd...

It's the 3x3 airbox mod, not "4x4".
But what about the 2x4?
Some drz riders have done a 4x4 airbox mod when running hotter cams and a big bore kit, along with a better carb of course
Cant kill the drz
We try!
Yes, don't waste your money on that fcr! Waste of money and always has to be played with
Some people love them but we're all about practicality.
FCR is life! Best thing Ive done to my SM. Way more grunt on lower RPMs
