    I myself would just open up the airbox door and avoid deep water crossings. It's a motorcycle not a submarine. I would also yank the snorkel. That way you don't tear up your airbox. This would be in conjunction with a FMF Powercore and proper jetting.

      That's what I did to my 2015 WR250R then added a Wiseco programmer and a No Toil Superflow kit. After the bike was stolen I bought, titled and plated a 2021 WR450F. Uncorked it and kept the EPA ECU which I liked better than the Comp ECU. Unfortunately it does not have the internal gearing for the interstate. It's comfortable cruising speed is 50mph with 13/48 gearing, take it up to 60 and it is revving. I'm thinking about a DRZ400 for longer rides and lower maintenance and keeping the WR as my hot rod.

    My question is this, what happens when you wash the motorcycle with high pressure water? The cut allows the entry of more air to the engine but also of water easily. I love your videos. Regards.

I get some oil in my airbox from wheelies and have been looking forward to a clean install for this modification. With your awesome attention to detail, I know you would do it right no doubt.

    Does that even do anything? I’ve ridden with my friend with the air box door off. We have the same bike, same weight and everything. Didn’t notice anything when we raced. I guessing you have to do all 3 together?

    • @linksgarage1985
      @linksgarage1985  2 года назад +3

      After you do exhaust, and fuel, more air is needed. Yes. It’s best to run all 3.
      So to answer your question. Yes. It does. In conjunction with a rejet and exhaust. If you don’t do the other 2, it will run 2 lean. And you could potentially lose power.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hey man did you have to readjust the mixture on the carb after removing the charcoal canister? Took it off mine last night, and now the bike idles really rough and sputters out. I primed the carb and it ran a bit better, but as soon as i switch the petcock to "ON" it starts to idle rough and if i give it gas, it backfires super loud! Not sure what happened, I did exactly as the walkthrough says, remove canister, cap the bottom of the carb, and guide the tank relief hose down to the bottom of the bike. Didn't touch anything else. So not sure what the issue is, or if you had a similar problem when removing yours.

    • @linksgarage1985
      @linksgarage1985  3 месяца назад +1

      My bike didn’t have a charcoal canister. That’s only California and Canada bikes I think.
      I did remove the pair valve. And yes. If you are opening up air box, you need an exhaust and to rejet the carb to make it run right.

    • @JHSIGLER
      @JHSIGLER 3 месяца назад +1

      @@linksgarage1985 I assumed it had to do with emissions, so it makes sense, even though I'm in AZ, but the bike is probably originally from Cali. Bike is already re-jetted with a JD kit and has a MRD exhaust. I ended up figuring out that the vacuum line was disconnected from the petcock after i removed the tank. Bike's running fine now. Love your build! Gonna do the PAIR valve and a Raptor petcock next. 👍
