I am glad I am not the only one who gets excitied over the books and mags and the history.I have a turbo"d mk1 escort that I have owned nearly 29 years!! and my dads old mk1 fiesta but never owned a rs. Some base model escorts had opo out rear windows as did 105e anglias..

Excellent video Jamie...I remember in the mid 80's a friend of the family bought a white 3 door cossie...took me for a spin in it,and I still remember the typical 80's lag and then big boost!!..what a rush these cars are!!...The escort was the finished product I believe.

I’m a ford man but I do love a nice Vw. I’m happy to say that I’ve got a pretty highly modified sapphire and I’ve got a highly modified Vw T4 Caravelle which has the old UrS6 2.2 20 valve AAN engine and we have a Sharan 2.8 V6 4motion which are getting very rare now.
Once you own an Escort you will never want to lose it. I have it myself and I will never sell it because their is no season for that. Thanks

I have a MK3 Focus RS now, but I would do anything for my old mk2 series x RS2000 back. Had loads of RS’s but for me, can’t beat the Mk2 Escort.

Oh how I should have bought one when they were £12k. These cars are the reason I bought my mk3 Focus RS.
They were less than that in the early Noughties
A guy across the road from my parents bought a new really early Escort in pacifica blue, to my knowledge drove it three times and scared him self with it (last time i looked at it closely around 2000 it still had the covers on the seats and had 450miles on it). It was a running joke that i tried to buy it every time i saw him out cutting his garden etc but years later (must be 2010) he gave it to his son as a wedding present who was not into cars and subsequently sold it for £15k for a deposit for a house (without me knowing i might add). Gutted didn't quite cover it when i heard.
My dad had 2 of these in the 90s… got me totally obsessed with cars as a teen!
Lovely clean car,love it..it mite have a k&n in the box,has this got a maf sensor?never seen that black box on cossy before,
and I remember when those alloys was being advertised in fast ford years ago,ford should've fitted them with this size from the start..👍💪
I had one in white and my dad had one in Imperial blue we loved them I wish ford would build something like this again

Lovely Cossie, Always loved my RS cars, have a 2wd Saph Cossie and a Series 2 Escort Turbo me and my girlfriend are restoring and she also has a MK3 Focus RS. So it safe to say we love all the RS's.
Love your videos im from the United states and own a Focus mk3 RS and love seeing the old RSs! I have only seen one Sierra RS .
I have a similar memory when I started my apprenticeship at 15, a mallard green one got traided in to the garage against a t5 volvo estate, I got a quick shot of it.. Amazing
No wonder it’s your favourite car in your collection,absolutely stunning example for being 24yrs old! My B5 S4 was 20yrs old on the 9th august and engine/power wise it is spot on but now just trying to get all the cosmetic stuff sorted out but have a soft spot for the escort cossie 👏🏻

Still love seeing an Escort Cosworth on the rare occasions that you come across one. The former tuning company Turbosystems in Stoke had one called Rallye Storm. I recall it coming past me at 100 plus back in the day. Not unusual you may think but it was towing a trailer at the time!! Are the alloys the original width or slightly narrower? Oh Mallard green was sweet colour too.
Best combination right there.... Small turbo, black raven leather and aubergine. Complete stunner and worth a small fortune

I thought i had stared long enough at these iconic cars. But you gave a few more angles in this video. Don't normally get an outside shot with the boot and bonnet open, that was cool. BUT do you know what, when you were in the car looking out the back at that awesome spoiler with the big stand in the middle - it made me think that must be the view a formula one driver has! Looking out the back of a Cossie is the same as looking forward in a f1 car..
Series 2 RS Turbos had opening rear quarters too, they were fitted to the Spanish cars with the right green tint glass not like the bronze tint the Series 1s had. I had the green tint opening rear quarters on my old Series 2.

I think that you'll find that the colour of the car is called dark aubergine, I worked at Brooklyn motorsport in the mid 90's......great video though, good memories

Thats worth some big money. The only contender to this car was the Toyota Celica GT4 WRC. Which killed the cosworth. All in all the car was brilliant

I love my Mk2 Focus RS and like you..will not sell it. I feel sorry for tomorrow’s electric generation.. they will never know..
