Glad you corrected that 👀👀 I've just had to have the conversation with my 11 year old daughter on why it matters 🤣🤣 Great work and what an epic day we had at gravity yesterday too ✌️
OG. With these rolling races the pace cars on the left will always have the edge over the other because of thinking and reaction times. Would it not be fairer when you did these future runs keep it as is now and then swapped the cars positions over and repeat the race? It would be a much more balanced race then 🤔
@@hardcoretamI hope you don’t complain when you ask for a pint of bitter in a pub and get a Panda shandy. It’s s big fundamental cock up to call a four door saloon a five door, especially for a car guy. 😂😂
@breathoffreshair7314 I live in the UK and have worked in the motor trade for 25 years trust me it's a 4 door for it to be a 5 door it would have to be a hatchback
That Rs500 wasnt wanting to play on the drags such a shame coz they launches where savage. Well matched race. Defo seen the difference in the gear changes which the cars positions. Be great to see a series 2 rs turbo battle with one of the cossies. OLD SKOOL LOVE
Andy in the 5 door is a driver. As little traction los as possible on the launch and those shifts were on point. Sucks that the 3 door had issues. Might need to check the clutch switch. Might be getting stuck depressed which will keep launch control active.
The sapphire puts the power down on the road better than Sierra. Have driven both with 3 litre V6. Sapphire is well balanced car. Sierra is heavy on front, light on rear. Sapphire is perfectly balanced weight on both. I own 92 Ford Sapphire GLX 3.4 V6. It keeps the ppwer down on the road. Brilliant Cosworth races there. Love both cossies ❤ That Sierra send off on the launch is definitely legendary!
Two skool vetreans battling it out. If the 500 Cosworth sorts his top end power issue out, you need them back for a part 2. Great race's indeed. Put some respect on the name. (COSWORTH) is one of the cars that paved the way for street mods. Boy did Andy send the 500 off the line in them drags. You just know how to pick em Jamie, brother. The match ups are always on point. Respect bro
The 5 door for me as a family man, I was just about to own 1 a few years ago, until I was told it needed so much welding underneath and to stay away, I was gutted 👍
I would love to own either car. My first car was a Sierra 1.8l deathtrap that i gladly survived for six months until the MOT said, "STOP DRIVING THINS CAR!". it was a lot of fun being rear wheel drive, so throwing it around country lanes was a blast. These two old four pot gals have seen their day, but no driver can ever say they would not be proud to drive them.
Wonder what was causing the RS500 to bog down. Heat soak maybe, or ECU cutting fuel / power after the hard launch? Seemed to be pulling much stronger from the rolling start, than it did from the the standing start races.
Great video, enjoyed that. Don’t see many used properly anymore. Props to Mike at MAS Tuning for keeping these things out there ripping up the tarmac. 👌🏼😎
Proper driving there feeling the car when to shift how long to stay on throttle etc. Not that automatic all wheel drive 1000 hp bs, eating chips browsing your phone tying your shoes and being proud of how good of a driver you are
Shame they’re both on ancient turbos. I understand these cars want to be kept in keeping with the time period but these turbos are a couple decades old. Get a Garrett G series or EFR - you’d make the same power or more with half the lag, transient response would be 1000x better
The gear changes on the older cars and the turbo means quite long periods off boost during races/acceleration.Killing the 100-200 times but man they are cool cars. Love them.
@@SincerelyYoursOfficial yeah an original T4 wasn't that good at spooling up. You could buy one with a roller bearing core in the later years and that helped but they never were as good abd responsive as you would hope.

Are they both running the same gearbox ? The RS500 seems to struggle on rolling gear changes like it's synchro is worn if you get where I'm coming from...yet he nails it on launch from standing start
It’s a 4 door not 5 Jamie…. The boot it’s just considered a door when opens with the rear window together. That is why the Ras500 is considered a 3 door… the sapphire is a 4 door
4 Door* 😂

Out of all the cossies, the 6 door is my favourite 👀

just got to find someone brave enough to send a Lotus Carlton first :)

I always wanted a Sierra Cosworth. I had to settle for a Merkur XR4Ti.
Always loved a RS500 but on my income it can only ever be a dream
My old RS turbo with cossie management used to loose power top end, turns out it was the boost pipes collapsing due to being too soft….
Crazy how alil gearing makes all the difference

Ford missed an opportunity with the Focus RS. Had Cosworth badge been on it with Cosworth influence it would have been a winner.
