This one started off in better condition than a significant portion of cars on the road... get rid of that initial level of dirt, and it's as clean as any old car. It's fairly obvious it's been well kept even if it was in a barn.
what a unique colour. sometimes when the light doesn't hit it, it looks almost all black, then when the light hits it you see that nice dark purple colour !

Steam cleaner yes, but pressure washer...Hell no. These now fetch serious money, last time I saw a Cosworth for sale it was around £65k. But great to see and hear someone passionate about one model and keep these alive! Refreshing to see Escorts and other cars from the day still on our roads. I would still drive that. Clean or dirty my heart melts for cosworths. I have lived in Australia for 13years and have only seen 1 rs500 track car and my friend had a sapphire cosworth 4x4 in new Zealand in mint condition stock just an absolute beast of a car
@@mino7122 Polishing is actually before wax is applied. When you polish, you are working directly on the clearcoat to remove small scratches/swirls. For heavier paint correction, you do compounding/cutting before polishing to aggressively correct the paint.. this dulls the finish a bit so you have to polish it up. After polish, the surface should be perfect, or close to it, but it has no protection on it. That is where the wax, or some other protection, step comes in.
considering they had 8 hours I think they did a good job. Yes they could have compounded and polished but I imagine the alloys took a lot of their time.
I'm no Professional Car Detailer, but even I think they left out a *lot* of basic points and tips: don't use the same cleaner/shine spray on both the dashboard, and the steering wheel; rubbing the clay back and forth is a no-no; misuse of pressure cleaners can cause as much damage to paintwork as they remove; alloy wheel cleaner spray cleaners can also damage metal and paint finishes, etc, etc
