I feel the way that you do. I wish l knew then what l know now, when l was younger. I am 57 and only learned 2 years ago, thanks to RUclips hair gurus, how to care for my natural crown. Thanks for your comment ❤
I’m realizing this message is only for the few who will listen. Many will continue this, to the detriment of not only the physical consequences to the hair and scalp, but also the psychological consequences to how they view their own beauty. To think that you need a wig or attachments to protect your own hair, is thinking that the protective style itself is still not beautiful. We can make twists, plaits, corn rows with our own hair beautiful!!! We just have to manage it. We can’t leave it for weeks without redoing. But the ladies don’t want to hear that. When you suggest to just wear a cute scarf or head wrap, that’s still not enough. The problem runs DEEP. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s true. Beautiful, intelligent women with a head full of hair will still throw on a wig or attachments, even after finding that the chemicals in the fake hair are harmful. My best friend from high school did this and I never understood it. This is purely a spiritual issue. Jesus said let them that have ears hear. But we already know that there will only be a few. God bless you Sis. Keep encouraging the few that will hear. 💕
I totally get what you mean! But do you think there's a problem if i wear an afro wig because I have on 3 month old conrows underneath? This isn't necessarily a hatred for conrows but rather it looks untidy after 3 months 🤔
@Foxx-fj7wk Sis, I’d recommend just redoing your cornrows when they start to look untidy. Or wear a beautiful scarf or head wrap. I wear flat twists that turn to plaits in the front and just plaits in the back. I redo them every 3 weeks. This keeps them looking neat, as well as just setting aside time to love on my strands. 🥰 But ultimately we have to do what suits us. I just know the more comfortable we are wearing out protective styles, the more we and others get accustomed to them. Our hair will thrive, our daughters wil love their own kinks, and we can display our crowns in all their glory when we take them out on occasion. It’s a win/win/win all around. ☺️ That's just my perspective. 💕💙
Such a powerful message and well articulated. I wish I could give you 1 million thumbs up. Thank you for helping to empower the next generation of natural Queens ❤❤.
I totally agree with you ma! Wigs and extensions are the reason black women cannot grow their hair, period! Most of us just don’t care about our hair but crave for long healthy hair yet we see people who invest time and resources to grow long and healthy hair and call them liars or give credit their their genes. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks hair stylists don’t give a damn about the hair that grows out of your scalp. It’s just about installing beautiful wig or weaves that appeal to you and others so they get more customers and make more money at the expense of your hair. They don’t care if that braid will cause you to lose hair, so far as it’s nice, they will make it! Before I went natural almost 3 yrs ago, I had 20 inches relaxed hair, did my own relaxing and washing, moisturizing and sealing and would go get braids once in a while. Had a very bad cut from the stylist in the name of trimming stray hair and making the braids neat. So many stands were cut and I had to cut about 10 inches off my hair to even it out. It was a really painful experience and I cried so much. I eventually made that big decision to go natural and care for my hair by myself at that has been my best decision ever. People don’t believe my natural hair is just 2yrs 8 months old. Like, no one is touching my hair anymore 😅

haven’t worn weave extensions in 3 years and don’t regret it. my hair was so dry under the wigs and the braids. I took care of my extensions but not my own hair 🤦🏽♀️ made the decision to wear my natural hair out full time in 2021
I’m feeling some type of way about this video. It definitely shocking to my soul. I had some soft locs in and I cut my hair in 2 places while taking them down so I had to make a drastic decision to cut my hair the same length which is very short. I didn’t learned from that I’m currently wearing box braids. I feel so guilty because I know protective styles don’t protect your hair but my hair is so short I can’t do nothing with it but it’s long enough to braid but I can’t style it because of the blunt ends. I’ll definitely wear my hair out after 1 month. It can’t twists the ends are too blunt
I'm so proud of you having such a strong sense of self at a young age. I wish I had the courage and boldness when I was younger but as long as I have breath I will never give up . I just started on my natural hair journey after healing from abandonment and finding my identity in the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for the hair God gave me and I'm ready to embrace it. Thank you
❤I just subscribed. Please can you let me know if your hair is in locks, or twisted? I saw a video of you conditioning your hair with Banana peel, mint, parsley and Garlic . You did not comb your hair. It doesn't look plaited nor does it look like locks but a mixture. Please explain to me how you got that look as it's beautiful. ❤ Thank you
Thank you! My hair is not locked...am a loose Natural. However, my hair is almost always in twists...it makes it easier for me to handle cos of it's density and length. I wash and treat my hair in twists...though when it's necessary, I still takes each twist down apply products and twist each back😊.
@@christabel5915 My experience with yarn(used it on my kids)...it dried out their hair...like it sucked out all the moisture in their hair. I didn't try it again. That's our experience. Maybe you should try it and see...then ensure it's low tension...see how your hair reacts to it.
The kind of backlash I've gotten coz of my natural hair is quite A LOT. I've been told that look unkempt coz my hair is very bushy, my twists stand and the strabds intertwine with each other.

I don't... however my hair is styled I just wear a satin bonnet or a silk scarf at night that's it. Except if I wore my hair loose for the day..then I have to wrap it or put it in a bun and then wear my bonnet or scarf.
This honestly speaking is more prevalent among Africans, than AA. _Hair care_ is a low priority also because of *lack of knowledge* AA are much more on it. There is a day and night difference.
I'm natural but I didn't know how to take care of my hair... My hair was permed at the age of 12! My hair Never came back to the healthy hair I had, when I was a child, I'm very regretful of allowing a perm to TOUCH my hair! My hair is very dry, brittle, and breaking all the time... I've been conditioning after shampoos and oiling my scalp with olive/ rosemary oil! I use a moisturizing cream after oiling but my hair becomes stiff, I've stopped that combo!😏 the front has broken off from pulling back, I've stopped that too, I sometimes put my hair in two cornrows or a fro... I pay zero attention to what others think! It saddens me to see african american women struggling so much with their hair, going bald, traction alopecia etc... Unfortunately it's what were told to us, that our natural hair is ugly but I've Never believed that for a second! Black women have beautiful hair! Your daughters hair is just as beautiful! Thank you so much for caring for your sisters!😊💖

made the decision to wear my natural hair out full time in 2021
Most amazing decision you made for your hair...and you and your hair are enjoying the benefits..well done 🙌🏽
Thanks for the beautiful content dear❤
My pleasure 😊
Continue spreading the truth.

Very well said!! Thank you😊
Thanks for watching!
I love this, thank you❤
I'm so glad!
Good one there.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed watching ❤️❤️
Thank you
Great! Embrace it and you'll love it even more❤❤❤
Love your post.

Always welcome
❤I just subscribed.
Please can you let me know if your hair is in locks, or twisted? I saw a video of you conditioning your hair with Banana peel, mint, parsley and Garlic . You did not comb your hair. It doesn't look plaited nor does it look like locks but a mixture. Please explain to me how you got that look as it's beautiful. ❤
Thank you
Thank you! My hair is not locked...am a loose Natural. However, my hair is almost always in twists...it makes it easier for me to handle cos of it's density and length. I wash and treat my hair in twists...though when it's necessary, I still takes each twist down apply products and twist each back😊.
@@lindsaychrisharmony Thank you so much. You have the most beautiful thick hair I've ever seen.
It is also reasons why most will not achieve maximum hair growth hair can’t grow if suffocating all the time
Exactly my point! Just let your hair breathe! Let your hair do it's thing!
Would using African yarn for twists be a good protective style for length retention?
@@christabel5915 My experience with yarn(used it on my kids)...it dried out their hair...like it sucked out all the moisture in their hair. I didn't try it again. That's our experience. Maybe you should try it and see...then ensure it's low tension...see how your hair reacts to it.
The kind of backlash I've gotten coz of my natural hair is quite A LOT. I've been told that look unkempt coz my hair is very bushy, my twists stand and the strabds intertwine with each other.
Pay them no mind. Keep doing "You"
No send, rock it with confidence and always make sure your make up is on fleek.
Please do you have some of your products in Ghana

Love you Mommy
@@nthabisengmirriam110 Love you right back 😊
Not related to the video, but do you have a routine or a way you style your hair before going to bed ?
I don't... however my hair is styled I just wear a satin bonnet or a silk scarf at night that's it. Except if I wore my hair loose for the day..then I have to wrap it or put it in a bun and then wear my bonnet or scarf.
@@lindsaychrisharmony Thank you ❤
What’s the difference between Harmony hair care line and Liquid Gold? Labeling looks different.
Liquid Gold? Sorry never heard of that. We don't have any connection with Liquid Gold
@@lindsaychrisharmony Okay, thanks! When I tried to search your store that came up. Good to know!

This honestly speaking is more prevalent among Africans, than AA.
_Hair care_ is a low priority also because of *lack of knowledge*
AA are much more on it. There is a day and night difference.
They have already damaged the next generation and several generation beyond I see babies toddlers and little girls wit extension is so sad
It tiring and annoying at the same time🤦🏾♀️
I tire,I swear
@@paulettewilliams6435 True...black women have beautiful hair! Thanks for being here 😊
Not me seeing this after doing a crochet hairstyle 😂
Oh dear...you just cracked me up 😂😂
I agree to disagree
😂 The truth hurts.
@@Ebs2424for some they scare to show their natural hair in public which is really sad
@@Ebs2424 The truth really hurts. This is a very important matter that is hardly spoken about. We must tell ourselves the truth... it's the only way we can evolve.
@@fatimamanneh9432 Exactly...many are ashamed of showing their natural hair in public...and that's not how the plan of the Source Of Creation for us.
This is a wel informed video. Afro hair is very unique and must be cared for delicately and will flourish as a result. Know thyself.
