I love this, and want that exact set up, with maybe some bass notes.

The organ is very small, with only two ranks or voices. There is just an 8’ bass right now, mainly due to the lack of ceiling hight. I plan to put a sampled 16’ bass on it at some point as I don’t want to miter, or cut and attach at a right angle, the ends of a good straight set of 16’ bass pipes.

      It is sort of both.
MIDI, which stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, allows a computer (smartphone, tablet, etc.) to communicate with a musical instrument that is equipped with MIDI.
In most cases, a modern digital keyboard or electronic organ has this interface. In this video, the instruments are real acoustic instruments (Piano, Small Pipe Organ) that have been equipped with MIDI.
How this works is, the computer (or in this case an iPad) has stored in it MIDI files of a number of hymns, mostly downloaded from various sites on the internet. There are also several commercially available collections of MIDI music for church as well. The iPad is connected wirelessly to the MIDI instruments and feeds the data to them, instructing them as to which notes to play. It is not a recording in the sense of a audio file, it is more like a digital form of sheet music that the computer reads.
The piano is a commercially available product, a Kawai with a PianoDisc reproducing system installed. There are also several other available systems, the QRS PianoMation system, and the Yamaha Disklavier. They all have the wireless MIDI feature built in. The pipe organ is one I built, however Allen Organs and several others have MIDI built in as well. Virtually all newer digital keyboards and digital pianos have it as well.
A MIDI interface can also be retrofitted to most electo-mechanical (direct-electric) and electro-pneumatic action Pipe Organs.
      Hope this helps.
