I especially like the warning that says "don't drop in lifeboat" We just had two of them donates to our museum ship. Now to figure out what to do with them. The military museums near her are most ly Army themed.
The 4 second dashes with 1 second spaces are the auto alarm signal to set off the ships autoalarm to call out the radio officer if he was not on watch. the prolonged dash at the end is for a direction finder signal.

There really isn’t much in the way of documentation out there, I have seen an operating manual from time to time come up on eBay, but that is about it. This is no longer legal to use as life safety equipment on ships where it is required, and it is not practical to repurpose for any other radio application. Thus, as far as value, perhaps a couple of hundred USD to someone who thinks it is cool. These are not rare, and most of them that were made are still sitting around somewhere. I have been trying to find a museum ship or maritime museum that would want this, however every one I have contacted already has several of them.
What information are you wanting. I’ve used one many times, standard equipment on US Flag Merchant ships… either this RCA Radiomarine version or the competition MacKay Marine yellow ones.

Was a sensitive galvanometer used to trigger the automatic alarm, such as the one used to detect calls from spark gap transmitters?
