To anyone having trouble with "only audio with a black screen" go to your PC steam and under the advanced remote play setting disable all "hardware encoding" options, it will fix it and work 100%.
yeah, not sure what I am doing wrong I have been running Steam as admin when I stream it the game shows up on my computer but not the Steam deck. The steam deck is black and only shows the mouse pointer and I have no control over the mouse and music is coming from the steam deck. 😖

I've got good news. There was a guy that was able to get Android on the steam deck using something like a virtual machine so no dual booting or anything like that. And one of the games that currently works is honkai star rail. The name of the program is Waydroid.
@@ZhakOfAllTrades yes, im actually experiencing the same issue. And the game is running fine on PC. im able to see everything im doing on my PC on my steam deck, except the game. When i move the mouse in the game on my PC, I can see it move on my steam deck, but the picture on my steam deck is just black.
@@leothunders9366 I wouldn't recommend using the Epic Games version. Check with the Remote Play settings and try adding the Epic Launcher as a Steam Game instead of the game itself and try again by starting the launcher then the game.
I have attempted several times having this game ran through Remote Play via Steam and each time I tried to do so I was always having trouble with Window's UAC (It times out due to the notification and closing it causes the screen to be black). Didn't came to mind that running Steam as admin would fix that as I didn't wanted to disable UAC. Many thanks for the tutorial.

Yes, as you are playing through your PC it needs to be on. For the time being this or installing Windows on your steam deck are the only options. The good news is that you will be using very little battery and your deck will last for up to 4-5 hours!

Because in order to play this game on the steam deck you have to stream it from a computer. This is something I mention in the first 20 seconds of the video. Currently there is no other way to run this game except installing windows on your Deck.

I started the game, but the game only started on my PC, while the screen on my Steam Deck only got black after it loaded.

I fixed it! Disable hardware encoding in the steam settings!

Yeah! As it is the pc version it seems to have native Xbox controller support which the deck emulates 🦥

Are you sure you watched the video? I explain the first 30 seconds that the game does not run on the Steam Deck currently.
For some reason no matter what I do I can't get the game to recognize the steam Deck as a controller
Admin mode, the game recongizes it imedietely. Also make sure in controller settings you have enabled Xbox controller support

Sadly it's against the tos for downloading honkai star rail and genshin on non supported devices bc it's modified files and launcher
This isn't as it's just using Steam's remote play to stream the game from your PC. There's no modification of HSR files lol

You don't, unless you install windows on the Deck this game as of right now will not work natively on Steam OS
