It's very easy to upgrade the internal storage, I did the same thing on my 64GB model (upgraded it to 512GB) with ease (it took 10-20 mins to get all done). It's the best investment I've ever made in a long time. I'm so glad it's also a PC where you can do the normal things with it (apart from gaming). Thank you so much for the likes guys.
The best dollar per GB option is to buy 2 or more 512 GB micro SD cards, if you can manage your game library properly. For example, I will use one micro SD card for AAA games (which I won't install all of them at the same time, obviously) and use the other for emulation + indie games. And I spent less than 90 bucks on them. But that's for people who are budget-oriented. Changing the internal storage is also a good option if you don't mind the extra spending.

One benefit to upgrading the internal storage though, is not having your OS be as limited in case you want to Dual Boot with windows and not be limited in programs you install onto the internal storage. I'm not sure how well non-steam programs run on the micro SDs, especially on Windows, but I suspect they wouldn't run well, if at all.

@@angelnajera7169 general SD cards aren't ideal for constant reads/writes, but you can pay more for endurance rated sd cards designed for that use case. Endurance SD cards are typically designed for things like dashcams, which constantly read and write.

People do make sure the steam deck works after you unbox it before you pry it open and mess around inside. I know she probably did that without including it in the video but this is a PSA for people who may forget about that step
Ugreen makes really great chargers and adaptors… but I’m waiting for them to make USB-C/thunderbolt adaptors that are more low profile, and can be used on something like an iPad, without it sticking out much. Just having one attach to the back of the iPad with a small short cable would be fine, because I don’t use mine flat on a surface much anyway.
I have a case on my deck to go with my skin to make it more comfortable to hold, there is a pink version of the case too so I'd imagine it would look nice as well.
Months later I love my Steamdeck rocking a 1TB SSD Eventually will upgrade & move everything over to a 2TB SSD like you did. Will also upgrade to a 1TB MicroSD for emulation too

I agree I have no idea how the fans are really going to help just blowing into the back plastic. The effect would be negligible at best. It would actually make more sense to have a fan over the intake to increase airflow with hopefully a quite fan before better cooling on the deck won't help with performance anyway.
