Boney M. is a Euro-Caribbean vocal group that was formed in 1976. I had their greatest hits album. This group had a lot of great songs such as "Daddy Cool", "Ma Baker", "Belfast", "Sunny", "Rivers Of Babylon", "No Woman No Cry", "Brown Girl In The Ring", "Painter Man", "Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday" etc. The videos are quite funny with Bobby Farrell's dancing.

@@Lifewithstan2020 Fun fact: Boney M was a German band, founded by Frank Farian in 1974, he sang the first song with his voice changed. But he didn't want to publish it under his real name, so he named it Boney M. And later looked for other artists

They were huge in Europe and were competitive with ABBA during that period in the mid to late 70s. Try “Daddy Cool” for your next Boney M reaction.

The ending “oh those Russians” was missing from the video. “Painter Man” & “Brown girl in the ring” are good ones. Also “Ma Baker”.

Boney M were certainly unique and huge disco favourites. Ma Baker and Painter Man were my favourites. Enjoy your channel 😎😎

You should listen to the song "Nightflight to venus" and this one TOGETHER. The outro of NTV leads directly to the intro of Rasputin.

This song made Boney M famous in what was then the USSR. The late Bobby Farrell was on tour there when he died. I guess you could call that poetic. Oh, those Russians....

This song is very peculiar because of it political content , it talks about Rasputin , a close friend and confident of the last Russian Tzar/ Emperor Nicholas II
Rasputin was so close the Russian royal family and aristocracy due to his charisma and look ( Jesus Christ sort of ) and at the same time he was hated by so many people so he ended up murdered On December 30 th 1916 . Funny Boney M (F Farian) did such a disco hit out of such a political issue , my respect !

Fun fact: The guy couldn't sing so was miming and it's actually the bands manager who does the male voice parts.

Ironically Brown Girl in the Ring is the anthem of the Swedish anti-immigration party Sverigedemokraterna.
