I don't think there's a metal band in existence that would not cite Led Zeppelin as an influence.

Jimmy Page overdubbed a dozen separate guitar tracks in this song, all recorded in the same session. In the live performance he pulls this all off. When recording the album Presence, Robert Plant was in a wheelchair, not knowing if he’d walk again. Originally it was going to be called the wheelchair song, thankfully they changed it. The live at Knebworth (1979) of this is amazing, & highly recommend it. Plant his family, along with Pages daughter, we’re in a serious car accident in Greece. The kids thankfully were OK, Plants leg was crushed pretty bad, he was in a wheelchair for about a year. His wife Maureen had a skull fracture, they both had other injuries, but those were the worst for both. Something to do with a tax issue, they had to record this album, in California. They hated being away from their families, especially Plant considering both of their injuries. Another great slow blues song on the Presence album is Tea For One, it might be to slow for you, but it’s about Plant really missing his family. Another great live performance is Earls Court from MAY 25, 1975 is In My Time Of Dying, Pages guitar work is mind blowing. Thanks again for your reaction.

The entire album Presence was recorded in 17 days. Tracks, overdubs, everything.
It would take all but a handful of groups that long to just do the guide track for this one song.
Plus Page and Bonham were on heroin 24/7 most of the time.

@@brianbaker8246 like their first album, & they were only together about 2 months. LZ one over 4 days was recorded mixed edited all in about 36 hours. They used the studio after hours because it was cheaper, & primarily Page & Grant paid for all of it. My understanding, they got their recordings down in like 1 or 2 takes, so that saved time. Jimmy would get the mix & editing down pretty quick too. I know other bands were amazed how quick they could do an album, I guess more dedication, & masters at their crafts.

      @@sicotshit7068good looking out bruh
Presence was recorded in the Musicland Studio in Munich in November 1975. The Rolling Stones were booked to start recording Exile on Main Street there and Page called Jagger and asked for a couple of extra days.
I'm pretty sure you're not going to tell me anything new I don't already know about the 1970's. I was actually alive then. 😊

@@brianbaker8246 yet they were also in Malibu California during that time. I lived through the 60’s & 70’s, & have loved Led Zeppelin for about 50 years or so.

John Paul Jones, The Bassist, Used an Alembic 8 String Bass in this song. This song came out in 1976, 48 years ago. Don't scream during the song, because it cuts out the volume during the performance, and it doesn't sound good on our end. Enjoy your trip with the Zep! By the way, Black Sabbath invented Heavy Metal, As you call it...😉😁

This is metal it's actually proto power metal! And this song inspired Steve Harris from Irion maiden with Zeppelin's galloping power rhythm! And Steve Harris made that galloping rhythm pretty much irion maidens signature!

relentless on the drums. the first time the term "Heavy" was used to describe music was with zeppelin. After zepp completed and released their first album a music industry exec listened to it and replied with two words "that's heavy". it has since morphed into the term "Heavy Metal"
