I was thinking of getting such a monitor for my Steam Deck, sometimes in travel I want to watch something and while it adds to the bulk of your luggage it all seems worth it, if you have the space. 150 quid doesn't seem to bad.
This is great for digital nomads! steamdeck handheld for commutes and then the portable monitor which I already had for extra screen real estate when I'm abroad for few months
Hey bud, just came across your page, nice work! What gaming monitor for a desk set-up would you recommend for the Steam Deck? What 24" monitor did you have it paired with?? Cheers!
Hey there. Cheers. I’ve been through about 5 monitors since then lol. Main factor is price, get the best for your budget. I’m currently rocking the AOC Q27G2E and that’s awesome.
Cool vid thx. Appreciate you giving alternatives for the sold out option. So usb c to usb c from deck to monitor, and a power cable for the monitor that also powers the deck too? Then use a usb c hub connected to the monitor which goes to the deck?
@@MainCave damn, I'm here trying to find a setup with minimal cable that can replace the laptop concept since I don't want one.. If I do the math, the entire setup would cost me around 800€ if I take the 256 gb ssd steam deck +external monitor (ideally 240hz 1080p) around 200/300€ + I guess.. The easiest solution for me is the asus rog flow z13, but it's out of my budget :(
Hi there thanks for your video . One question please: playing with your steam deck laying on the table do you think it has sufficient room for airflow ? Thanks !
They don't sell this monitor in my country, however, there are others that are very similar, by any chance can the USB-C port that goes to the external battery be connected to a hub instead? Because the monitor I can get does not have the Micro USB port, Id like to use it only for flash drives
Hi there. I'm looking for a car headrest mount solution for the Steam Deck. I've got one for the Nintendo Switch but we're getting rid of it soon in order to replace it with the Steam Deck OLED. Is there anything you could recommend?
Tough one. I don’t know of any and a quick search doesn’t lead many god results. Problem is going from a switch which is relatively light to a steam deck the mount will need to be substantial to carry the weight.
@@MainCave Mate, how about the very setup you're showing in this video used in a car? How to power the screen in a car and the steam deck as well? Would this setup work in a car? What do you reckon?
What wireless mouse are you using? I got myself a razer orichi v2, and I tested it out on my steam link via Bluetooth. My god its laggy on that, so I wonder if the steam deck will have the same issue via Bluetooth?
I have a really basic Logitech and Seenda Bluetooth mouse. Both work OK and haven’t noticed any lag. The Logitech also uses 2.4ghz which will be better if you find any lag.
@@MainCave ahh ok, it might just be a steam link issue 😊 yeah, I'm lucky the razer orachi v2 has a 2.4ghz dongle too- just for out and about, I'd like both keyboard and mouse to use Bluetooth if it's not too bad :) glad to hear there's no real lag, that's very hopeful 😊
Any advice on how to still use the steam deck with Bluetooth audio and the portable monitor at the same time? I want to use the monitor to play on but still use my headphones via Bluetooth with the steam deck but the monitor is forcing sound output
How does it look at 720p resolution setting? I need something bigger than Steam Deck integrated screen, but at same time I cant choose higher resolutions due to obvious fps drops, would 720p or 800p look decent on this monitor?

I've literally been hunting for a portable display for my Steam Deck. 🥳 Thanks!
Can your steam deck charge as you’re playing on the monitor?
The quality and pace of these videos are perfect. Keep it up and you'll be a big shot in the RUclips scene.
Thank you. Means a lot to me. 👍🏻
Excellent review 👍 been searching for the perfect monitor when my steam deck arrives. Keep up the good work.

Wow this Channel is amazing! Love the Steam Deck Videos! :)

Such an underrated channel
Thanks for the support, appreciate it :)
My wife said the same ( you don't realise how light it is until you hold it in your hand ).
I have also the same - same ports, but 16" supposedly and 2k for just 120usd shipped. Not great, but can't argue with the price.

Great vid!
What is the game on 8:07?
Cheers. The game is Cult Of The Lamb

Thats exactly it. You dont need power to use the monitor, but you do need power to charge the steam deck at the same time.

Way late but yes it would.
GOD SENT YOU TO BRING THIS TO ME...ITS PERFECT FOR FIGHTING GAMES 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
For a Desk, 16 inch or 24 inch for 1080p on a steamdeck? is it the same performance and quality?
Has anyone had issues with stuck or dead pixels on any of these monitors? I've tried KYY and had stuck pixels on my first and replacement.
The fact this wont display when SD is set to 40fps is a dealbreaker for me as most of my games are set to that. 😢

Hi there. I’m pretty sure there is a way of routing the audio but my Deck is currently being fixed (RMA) so can’t test at the moment.
@@MainCave what happened?
Can the monitor power the steamdeck and keep it charged if playing intensive games using the wall outlet ?
I have the same question, can’t find an answerr
60hz is just THE START!

A 1440p portable monitor scales 720p correctly
I can't imagine downgrading the beautiful OLED display for this :/
*checks date of the video :/
you can do external screen with just a usb c? i have a portable monitor with built in battery and it doesnt even let me share screen to it
Yea you can. As long as the device is compatible. The steam deck powers itself and the monitor.
When I hear her voice, it's like North Korean kids singing in a choir🤣🤣
Can you charge your steam deck while playing on the monitor? If not, how can I make that possible?
5:17 👍🏻 HTH
The fact that you have to keep it propped up with that cover is a let down
I thought this was spawn point for a moment 😂
Spawn Point from Wish
@@MainCave 😆👏 good one
So can the monitor working as normal if it solely connected to steamdeck without using power adapter?
Exactly that.
Where u buy the skin
Really? why all the accessories ? Did you not think about the Steam Dock? or other alternatives.
that’s why n my other more recent video. this is just the monitor.
@@MainCave ah ok man thanks for the clarification
Is it possible to used wired keyboard and mouse
Should be ok, but if you run into trouble, maybe an idea to get a new one to see if that helps
Anyone figure out a way to make this setup portable?
Do you need an extra controller?
No, but it does make it easier if using an external monitor that’s attached.
monitor link is broken
Thank you. Trouble with these nondescript manufacturers is they go in and out of Amazon all the time. I will sort it. Ta
Bit cheap for me don't mind spending £300 oled model
