Nice review! I wouldn't be surprised to see a DIY modder using it to attach it to an existing console like the XSS and creating a portable console, lol! I think that using it for the Deck is the way to go, especially if you travel a lot! All depending on its price! Great video and keep up the good work!

Oh hey, I have one of those! Actually, it's the previous model, but it's still one of the best things I've picked up for my Steam Deck since I do bring it with me to local meetups and run multiplayer games on it.
I have an Arzopa monitor too, use it for work and it works great for the deck too. Only gripe is the case is pretty flimsy but the monitor itself is nice.
Ah I didn't even think to reference the build quality but you're right- it doesn't feel SUPER tough or anything and I did find myself handling it sort of gingerly! Glad to hear it's working well for ya though :) Do you use it in docked mode or just like I was with a single cable connection?
@@YourPlayer2 I've done both, docked with my Ivoler dock with m+kB, and also used it just single cable and the deck as a controller and both work nicely. Just nice if you want a slightly bigger screen to experience your games on but don't want to lose too much quality playing on a 4k big screen if you get what I mean.
Nice review :) For the latency, it can be hard to show this without professional measuring equipment, but I think it would have helped if you could have compared to a known good screen. For instance if you could have connected the steam deck and show both at the same time, or even one after another. Currently to me it looks like it actually has pretty significant inputlag as I could clearly see a delay between you pressing the button and the character jumping, but I don't know that game and it may just be the game responding a bit slower. I'm not in the market for a screen though, just something I noticed :)
Thanks dude! Yeah, it's difficult to illustrate for sure but practically speaking I didn't have any issues in the midst of play. I mean I'm sure there are more responsive portable monitors out there but for the price still a pretty good value methinks!
Got one at 73$USD (100$CAD) at AliExpress, I think at that price, it beats even a regular monitor for my use. I was looking for a tablet since apps are sometime a bit small on my Pixel 7, but now I can have a "giant display" while only worrying about my phone being less relevant tech wise as time pass. Also, it's really hard to find ultra thin monitor this days.
I bought a portable monitor similar to this when i first got my steam deck but uh i never ended up using it for that once lol, but its nice to have an extra monitor like this when you need it i really only use it once and awhile to plug my modded ps3 into so i can have the ps3 hooked up to ethernet while i transfer games from my desktop to it
Bwahaha I think that's why I was on the fence about getting one for so long but now that I have this one I do keep finding weird one-off situations where it's pretty handy! Is it hard to mod the PS3 or pretty straightforward?
@YourPlayer2 I've modded just about every console that can be soft modded and ps3 is def one of the easiest whenever i see them cheap on marketplace I pick them up to mod and resell I've modded like 8 of them at this point, Blaine Locklair makes some really good super easy to follow tutorials on it if you are interested
@@YourPlayer2 Also, Palworld just dropped been playing it for a couple hours and I think this game is right up your alley, def check it out has to be very low settings 30fps cap for steam deck but still looks and plays pretty great at those settings.

Got this from tiktok. Kept seeing a ton of ads for it and it eventually got me. I did not need it whatsoever. But I got it at around $50 which was definitely justifiable. I wouldn’t pay the full price though but that’s just because I’ve barely had any use for it other than connecting my steam deck to have its own setup at a different desk.(as I said I didn’t need it, just an impulse buy)
That's a great deal! And I feel ya- Personally I use it as a secondary vertical monitor for my Mac Mini at the moment. It was my go-to accessory for the Deck on-the-go but man these new Viture glasses are something else.

Is it safe to use the Nintendo Switch without using the dock? What power brick did you use to power the portable monitor? Power brick of the Nintendo Switch or the Standard power brick of the portable monitor?
I was just using (I think) a 12V wall wart with a USB-A to C cable at the time. I don't think you can use the Switch without a Dock so far as I know but I was able to in a limitted way with the Deck.
I got kids who hog my screens i got a legion go and its good now doubt but sometimes its kinda small for my aging eyes so i had amazon points saved up and bought this monitor its not bad at all does what a gaming monitor at this price should do is project the thing youre playing at a good fidelity now the speakers suck i wont lie but its not that bad i mean theyre tiny what do you expect so if you want a solid screen id recommend this one this guy does a better job of showing it off im just puting my 2 cents in
@50086gtyeah this is always a weird argument. Gaming on a handheld vs a laptop are two very different experiences. Not sure why people equate those 2. It’s a slippery slope to make comparisons between 2 different form factors. What’s stopping me from commenting on a gaming laptop video and saying why not build a pc?
@nuckv7544 so you buy a handheld, but want a large screen, so you buy a larger screen and connect it to the handheld via cable. And because the handheld can't provide enough power to the screen, you buy an additional charger for the screen. But you don't want to use the handheld as a controller, so you buy an additional controller. And a keyboard, because typing on a virtual one is very awkward, and you already have a big screen. Oh, and let's not forget that you can't simply shove that screen to your backpack, you will ruin the surface of the screen! You need a dedicated carrying bag! You've effectively built yourself a pc/laptop in separate parts. But here's the best part: there already exist laptops with detachable displays, might as well get yourself one of those. But no, you want a handheld, because it's different, right? xD
I don't want any of those things, most of the time, I wanna play handheld most of the time, that's why I'm buying a handheld@@9r33ks I've had my steam deck for more than a year now, I've probably played it handheld 90%+ of the time. Including numerous occasions where I wouldn't bother busting out my laptop to play a game or bother bringing one with me.
@50086gt you will be surprised to learn, that there is a lot of people who claim they don't even use their steam deck in its handheld form. Rather, they use it almost exclusively docked, and connected to a screen, mouse and keyboard. They also don't use it on battery, or take it outside their house. There are people who set their steam deck as a desktop to play competitive multiplayer games. Don't ask me why, buy they do. They want to HAVE a handheld, but they will still use it as a laptop or a pc. :D
I don't have a 24 for comparison, but I would imagine the FPS would remain consistent as long as the output resolution was 1080P regardless of the size of the monitor!
How do you connect it to the SteamDeck? I didn't understand it. The Dock of the SD only has USB-A Ports, because the USB-C Port is used for power supply.
You could connect using an HDMI cable as well from the Dock to the monitor :) Beyond that if it's undocked you can use a single USB-C cable but to your point it might not be practical since you'd be chewing up your ability to charge it!

Does Steamdeck perform better with recent games on this 16 inch 1080p monitor then on a 24 inch 1080p? I reckon the size difference affects fps's

Question: Seen a few reviews that mention that they can't get the monitor to 120 or 144hz with the Steam Deck and X-Box X, were you able to do that?
I think it worked briefly but I had some issues with flicker ? If I give it another go I'll try to report back!

I would assume that would be fine but unfortunately they only gave me the 60Hz version so I can't say for certain
