New player here, what is he doing when he shifts into yokai form and uses the raijin feathers? Is he using the feathers then doing a burst counter right after and repeating? What does that do?

I started with Nioh 2 and it’s been going pretty well. I think the only difference is Nioh 2 has yokai shifts and the first Nioh doesn’t. Nioh 1 is much less expensive though
Lmao, first mission took me 7 hours to complete. It's pretty normal when you learn how to play. Besides, speedrunners don't bother collecting extra loot or killing mini bosses like those monkeys in the first village
Purification debuff on yokai then hitting them while their purified and can't regain from stagger then using ninjitsu feathers and parry cancel to quickly use them. Along with the level of ninjitsu the damage is pretty good to say the least. But to sum it all up, strong debuff with strong item damage use.
Starts off with a kunai stagger then uses ninjitsu feathers to debuff and weaken his ki to stagger and take excessive damage. Based off of my memory of how it works but I'm pretty sure thats what is being done.
Can someone explain to me how he’s killing the bosses so quickly, despite his low character level? My magic and ninjitsu barely do anything to bosses! 😭 p.s. This run is absolutely phenomenal!!!
Afflicting a boss with 2 types of negative status like shock, and burning or saturation (water) will give them confusion which lowers ki recovery, another good thing to do is to use the onmyo purification buff which lower yokai kill recovery as well. So basically you can stop them from recovering and just beat on them until they're dead.
Another essential trick is using yokai burst counter (phantom is the fastest option) to cancel out of the casting animation so you can spam spells as quickly as possible. You have to practice the timing so that you cancel the animation as early as possible but not so early it prevents the spell from coming out. Also, the ninjutsu feather spells receive a massive damage buff against ki-broken enemies, which is why they're particularly strong against yokai.
This man got in 20 min to where i got in 1 week

I have a question! How did you immediately transform into brute yokai and grapple at 4:23? Usually transforming takes a little more time. Amazing run!
When the enemy is ready for a grapple just transform and youll inmidietly do the attack.

It does cancel. Not sure if there is an additional reason. It’s all happening so fucking fast lmao

You do more damage when enemies are out of ki also when you cause confusion as well.
