Yeah this could have been a lot more thorough on one topic rather than jumping around between several of them. It also would help to give examples of case uses when each option would be appropriate. For example, I have one phone for business and another for personal use, so it makes sense for them both to share my Apple ID, and disable syncing on justs few apps like iMessage and Photos. Having two Apple IDs would just cause more syncing and sharing grief than is needed. But for me and my wife to share purchases, photo albums, etc. without the risk of seeing each other’s Amazon orders at Christmastime … or when our kids are old enough for phones and we want control of their accounts without giving them full access to all of our apps… family sharing is a no brainer. I kind of came to this video hoping for more specifics on pros and cons, or best practices, for things like allowing both phone numbers to ring on both devices, or having your MacBook serve as an all-in-one station for iMessages to both numbers. But so much of this short video was filled with preamble, ads, and self-promotion, that I not only spent seven minutes hearing things that I already know… I can understand why so many commenters are confused. You gave a high level overview of several options, but didn’t actually teach anything super useful to either newcomers or proficient Apple users.
Multiple phones are good safety if misplace lost stolen or if phone fails . Cheapest is keep old phone or buy cheap factory set phone . One year service as little as $100 for back up phone .

I have both my wife and my iPhone on the same Apple ID. I want to separate the two phones so our contacts are separate and notes etc but we must share the same iCloud data amount(I pay for 200gb) and photos. I don’t want all the photos removed from her phone in the process of changing her ID as she will go ballistic lol. She needs all of the photos on her phone and we want to then share them without doubling up on iCloud usage. How do I do this - as I don’t dare mess with her phone 🤷🏻♂️

How to use 2 iphones at the same time and I want them both synced with eachother. Or should I select one master which is synced by the second one? My problem is; I am using them seperataly and want them both sync eachother. If I use iphone A, I want iphone B sync itself same as A. Or the opposite, as which I use...
"Hi There! For clarification, you cannot make any iPhone a “Master” device out of both options. There are a few other things that you can do to keep your data synchronized: - Login on both devices with the same iCloud and turn on the options of iCloud Photos and iCloud Sync. In this way, data on both devices will be synchronized. - By enabling the option of “Automatic Downloads” in the settings of your App Store, applications installed in one device will be automatically synchronized in the other device. - Enabling the Handoff feature helps you complete a single task by picking up the leftover work on the other device. These are some ways to keep both iPhones connected. "
Have you tried resetting your network settings or restarting your device? If the problem persists, it may be worth reaching out to Apple support for further assistance. Best of luck!
It’s confusing because you probably don’t have 2 devices. He’s talking about someone that has two iPhones and doesn’t want them both to mirror each other. For example, I have an iPhone and an iPad using the same iCloud account. I don’t want text messages and calls coming to my iPad so this is what he’s telling you how to avoid.
So if two phone are connected with the same Apple ID and one has screen time can you shut the screen time off with the other phone that isn’t locked or would both be locked
Hello There! If you wish to turn off Screen Time on a device from another, the only way to do this is if both devices have enabled the option of “Share Across Devices” in their Screen Time settings.
Me, my brother and my dad have the same Apple ID (my dads Apple ID), but i want to have my own. I have created my own, but i am so integrated in his Apple ID that i don't know where to start, with transferring the data (photos, notes, passwords). Please help!
I have two iPhones, I want to buy an app to use in one of them, does it means I can have the paid app in both phones? Or only in one? I ask because my priority is to have the paid app in my secondary phone, and don’t want to buy it yet in this my main phone
Hey There, if you are using the same Apple ID on both of your devices, then you can use the paid app on both of them. But you have to keep in mind that some of the developers have restricted the use of the app, such as using their app on one device or a maximum of two. That's why checking the app policy before purchasing it is recommended.
I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 13 Pro Max was stolen. Regarding your question, yes, it is safe to use the same Apple ID on a new iPhone. However, it is important to change your Apple ID password to ensure the security of your account. You may also consider enabling two-factor authentication for an extra layer of protection. Additionally, make sure to report the stolen device to the authorities and to Apple so that they can help you with any necessary actions.
Technically it would be one person with 2 phones ,not sharing phones. May want one to take to work where it could get damaged and keep the other at home. Android is easier ,just swap the Sim back and forth
My wife and I share the same AppleID on two iPhones (His & Hers), an iPad (Hers mostly) and an iMac (Ours) in order that we share the same Contacts, Notes and Photos. How can we do that if we move to having separate Apple IDs, please?
Hey there, you can still share the data with your partner even if you create separate Apple IDs. For that, you have to create a family-sharing group. To create a family sharing group, access the iCloud settings from your iPhone settings and tap on the "Family Sharing" option. After this, you share contacts, create a shared album, and collaborate notes with your wife.
How were you able to add iPad and mac to the Apple ID? I have my MacBook Air and iPhone with same Apple ID but it is not letting me add this Apple ID to iPad,
Yes, you can restore both phone's data onto one phone using the same Apple ID. However, keep in mind that if there is duplicate information, such as contacts or photos, they may merge or overwrite each other. It's always a good idea to backup your data before restoring it onto another device.
