Thanks for sharing. The reason I love booking Silver Seas, Seabourne, and Ritz Carlton Yacht is for the fancy dining. I have booked Explora Journey for next year and I am looking for fancy dining and fine wines. We tried Celebrity Beyond for the first time on September 1, 2024 sailing and we felt like the food was awful 😞. We are planning on trying Princess next year and hopefully the specialty restaurants are better than Celebrity Beyond specialty restaurants.
On Princess, you'll want to get signed up for the Chef's Table and/or the Winemaker's Dinners once you are onboard if you want the elevated dining experience. The $45 specialty dining restaurants probably won't meet your expectations. If you go on Sun Princess, the LOVE by Britto sounds like it's up your alley, plus what I mentioned above. Explora Journeys you will enjoy for sure. It's got that real European flavor to it and the food is excellent and mostly included. The French and Asian restaurants are particularly good. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the video from my time on Explora: ruclips.net/video/T_F1hdwf4sw/видео.html Enjoy your cruises! Andrew
It may surprise you that not everyone wants an 'American' cruise experience. Silversea has a European heritage which is attractive to those not wanting American 'comfort food' served constantly. Believe me, there are much better options!
You may have misinterpreted me. While Silversea may have HAD a European heritage, I believe it has lost that and is more of an American interpretation of European cruising. If I want a true European experience, it will be with Explora now. And trust me, as a Canadian who has deep European roots, the comfort foods I’m looking for are not American. People should know what is and isn’t authentic and I didn’t find my experience to be authentic.
@@TidalHorizons I agree with you about Explora, the whole experience is exceptional. And the food beyond compare. I was on the Silver Nova last year out of NYC and everything about it was good to perfect but not exceptional. I have 2 cruises booked presently, 1on the Silver Nova and 1 on Explora 1 . These 2 cruises will be for me the big test of who really understands high end culinary production and presentation. And I am certain I know which ship and cruise line will win. Sadly Royal Caribbean as is traditional with most American Corporations is all about the bottom line and return for shareholders. Explora Journeys is the Baby of the Multi Billionaire Family who own the MSC Shipping Conglomerate and will spare no expense with Explora, but to get it beyond perfect. Which includes most importantly the level and qualifications of staff being hired. To quote a friend of mine who is a very successful hotelier, You Pay Peanuts, You Get Monkeys. I to am a Canadian, and want what I assume I have paid for, and with both of these lines that is a high standard. All about ones own perception of value. Happy Sailing
