The ship is so unique in its asymmetric layout. This will definitely be a staple in maritime history in decades to come. I'm all for it. The lido looks spacious and I love the stairs making its way into the water. Some change is bad, but some change is good, and this is good change! We travel on a 17 day cruise September 2023 Lisbon to Lisbon on the Nova and there are some very unusual features on this Silversea ship.I’ve been cruising since the 50s and have the following comments. There are many dinning options but the menu choice is similar in each restaurant and is not varied much .Silver-note is the usual Silversea tapas more like canopies than a meal .I found the food not up to the usual Silversea standard I’ve experienced for many years with them . Since the takeover by Royal Caribbean this is my first experience and noticed a big difference in the dining experience and general standard of service. The ship is a big departure from their other ships in the fleet but personally found it a bit large for the amount of passengers and a lot of empty spaces with repeated uninspiring decor throughout .Somehow I found it too much of a departure from the previous privately owned Italian company and certainly could feel and notice the influence of RCCI in the Silver Nova.Personally disappointing.
Hi. Firstly, thanks for your wonderful videos. Very well presented and well paced and well shot. They have been helpful on my decision to go with Silversea on my first cruise. This ship is a marvel and I hope to one day find some documentary on its construction and design.
On February 15, 2024, my wife and I booked a 32 day door-to-door cruise ( 11/18/24 - 12/20/24 / Cairns, Australia to Auckland, NZ) on the Silver Nova. For the next 11+ weeks our dealings with SiverSea’s transportation department were very difficult to the point of exhaustion. Having been presented with one abysmal flight itinerary after another, we canceled the trip a couple days ago. One would think that when offering a “door-to-door“ travel experience, they would be prepared to define that experience before the reservation is made. Their claim that a client must book a reservation before they can advise on the specifics of air travel is eerily similar to a “pay-to-play” scheme that one would not expect from a “high-end” operation. The $250/person “administrative fee” they charged us when we canceled was just sad. We have spoken with others who had similar experiences with SilverSea.
Sorry to hear about this. We have never used this service so can’t comment but generally we find the service from Silversea to be very good. Thank you for watching.
Superb video as usual. What an amazing ship. Think that this is so innovative compared to all the new mega ships' really seems as though they have re thought all the areas and how best to present them. Absolutely love watching your content

Very unique ship! Interesting stairs, & nice decor in the restaurants, champagne bar looks nice. Very nice editing, & love the graphics of the ship decks! Don’t know if La Dame would be worth the price… Is it easy for solos to join a shared table? The terrace, library and theater look nice. Nice bars and lounges. Spa/salon look nice, too.
In all honesty we think they have overpriced La Dame on Silver Nova and this was reflected in how quiet it was when we dined there. They still had single hosts who are aged meet ups and could arrange for shared tables etc but not sure how this would work in La Dame 🤔
A stunning ship and a lovely detailed review as always (love the ship graphics, they really help). The ship looks like it’s pretty focused for warm climates though I see they are taking her to Alaska and Japan so it’ll be interesting to see how well the design works for colder climate itineraries.

I'd confidently say the top four were Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn and Explora Journeys. They all excel but small differences make them a favourite for different reasons. :)
@@visitwithus thanks so much for the reply :) . Would you say viking is up there still? Also the luxury version on the msc ships (I forget the name, but they are new ships with a black and gold colourway)
@@lilnutty6821 The MSC ships you refer to are called Explora Journeys, so yes, they are up there with the best in our opinion. Watch our Explora I videos for a detailed look. Also, yes we consider Viking to be one of the most premium cruise lines in the world. Their ocean ships are fabulous but we would refer to them as ‘super premium’ not ultra luxury.
Also, the modern elevators, art work, so many areas facing the ocean & tiered deck, pool, shaded area, & pool bar look very nice! Love that the pool is on the side. Do the outdoor lounges have retractable roofs? Like deck 11. Doesn’t Silver Nova have a more relaxed dress code?
No retractable roof I’m afraid - which obviously might make for a different experience in a colder climate. Silversea have updated their dress code recently with formal being optional but we still found most people dressed quite smartly in the evenings (which we quite liked)

@@maggie4834 Nope. Just because it doesn’t have click bait style exaggerated negatives in it and needless nit picking does not make it an ad. We’re POSITIVE cruisers, a dying breed it seems… 🙂
Hello Rich. I do usually enjoy your video except for the fact you never seem to have anything to complain about, especially with the luxury or so-called luxury cruise lines. Others do. What the hell is asymmetrical I know only because I looked it up but doubt many people have the first idea of what it means unless you are referring to the pool on the side of the ship. What else is asymmetrical? Not once do you mention the insane prices to dine in other restaurants which other so-called luxury cruise lines do include. The ship inside looks great but looking at other videos on here where people do mention the absurd upcharges for some restaurants makes me wonder did you pay for this cruise and others or do the cruise lines give them to you for free for good reviews? How about doing a review of `Fred Olsen cruise lines after all their Head Office in the UK is not. far from you. Best value cruise line I have ever been on and I do not live in the UK. Get down to earth where the rest of us live.
Ok let’s take these points one at a time and try to address them for you. Firstly we are often critical of things but because we don’t make a drama of them or use click bait you may not think of them as being outlandishly critical. We try to be more subtle and constructive when we find something not to our taste. The fact that we are lucky enough to sail on luxury or ultra luxury ships (as you put it) means that things do tend to be rather nice and there often isn’t much to complain about. Next up, sorry you didn’t know what we meant by asymmetrical but not sure what other way we could have described it. The dining guide for Silver Nova does mention the upcharge for the three extra charge restaurants, the rest are included in the fare. The charge on Nova is higher than on the other Silversea ships, we’re not sure why but we do try to give a balanced opinion of the cost v. dining experience where there is a charge involved. And no, we do not get paid in any way to produce a ‘good review’. We may be invited on the cruise where the cruise fare might be comped but there are often other costs involved for us like flights, on board expenses, hotels etc. The cruise lines that invite us on their ships have no expectations for us to produce any content and if you follow us you will know that it sometimes takes us a while to produce our videos. The cruise lines might pay for our cruise but they have no control over what we produce, when we produce it or what we say (please read the video descriptions for a full and honest voluntary disclosure). But like you say yourself we are often sailing on very high end brands and the product is naturally very good. We would never say something is bad just to get you to watch our videos or so that you think we’re being more honest - that wouldn’t be very honest now would it? Lastly we have no objections to sailing on a Fred Olsen cruise, in fact our son worked for them until very recently. We just don’t have them time to fit one in atm. Hope this helps answer your concerns. Thank you for watching our videos and taking the time to comment.

The Ship was beautiful, Service and food were horrible.
Oh dear, we didn’t find that at all, the service and food were up to usual Silversea standards and the ship was indeed beautiful.
Thanks for watching.
It’s a corporate advertisement…
Thank you for watching our videos and taking the time to comment.
ssssssssssssssssssssssibulance
Yeah, sssssorry about that. Something went awry in the mix because I recorded on board with different equipment.
My Dad is English and I was watching this within his earshot. After hearing you pronounce apparel and saxophonist he asked, “Who is that ponce?”
What a lovely polite man he is!
