I’ve seen so many RUclips videos on cruises to Alaska. I felt compelled to tell you that yours was the the best. You assembled everything that one would be thinking about in a such an appealing and efficient manner, and your presentation was so enthusiastic that we are dying to make the same trip. Well done.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We had SO much fun making the first episode. We’re working on a plan for more. Good luck on your trip to Alaska! Larry
Hi Larry. I loved your video and your experience. My wife and are ready to go back to Alaska on Silversea because of your message and experience. thank you for sharing!
Great video guys! I am also a lover of Silversea..they’re an amazing company. Like the old saying goes..”you get what you pay for”. Larry you are an awesome commentator/narrator.
Thank you Gigi! Yes… you get what you pay for! But what’s so interesting is that when you add it all up, you probably would have paid similar dollars had you bought everything ala carte on a non all-inclusive ie the flights, the drinks, the excursions, the transfers etc. What was your favorite Silversea cruise? Have you done a lot?
@@kimandlarrysluxuryadventures My favorite cruise I’ve ever been on was with Silversea to the Galápagos Islands aboard their newly built ship, The Origin. It was built specifically for the Galapagos. Their staff was amazing..all scientists of some sort. The food and accommodations were spectacular. I highly recommend it. This December I’ll be on the Silversea Muse in New Zealand and Australia..needless to say I’m excited.
We did the New Zealand - Australia Cruise with SS over the Christmas New Year period, and it was the most enjoyable experience I have had, we had guests from Canada and from New York who became friends and our New Years party in Melbourne was unbelievable - we are now in our twilight days but we danced and danced like the young - it was great - everything on the cruise was great and best of all it was inclusive. I am now looking at the Christmas/New Year cruise 2024/2025 on the Silver Nova which travels from Auckland to the Fiji islands before finishing in Sydney - what a cruise as I love the islands.
Just had a look at the ship we will be on again in September to Japan from Vancouver. So glad to see your upload. Our last cruise was last year in the other direction and Japan didn’t open so they flew us from Australia to Anchorage. Guaranteeing to look after all Covid problems, that luckily didn’t occur. Your luggage and flight story is a great one and adds to our thoughts of choosing Silversea again.
Larry, you did an amazing job in capturing the essence of Silversea "when perfection isn't enough". As a travel advisor for close to 10 years do we want the best of the best for our clients and Silversea is one of the partners we love as we can rest assured our clients are in sublime hands. If only all my clients would realize the return on the all-inclusive investment is so worth it as it leaves them with unique memories to last a lifetime. Perfection!
Sad to post a different voice. We were Seabourn customers and decided to give Silversea a try watching your video. We were caught in the unfortunate flight cancellation and experienced completely different support from Silversea. After talking to people sailing with Regent, Viking who had exactly same issue but received a lot help when we were left completely ignored. Guess they do treat customers very differently!
The restaurant where you enjoyed the oysters is called Deckhand Dave's. They get their oysters from The Salty Lady Seafood Co. which has an oyster farm in Juneau. I really enjoyed your video and now booked on Silver Muse, going to AK July 2024.
Great video, thanks! What room were you in? Looks like one of the Veranda Suites, curious to know which one, getting ready to book. Also, sounds like you book through a travel agent. Any reason you didn't book direct with Seilversea?
Hey, I apologize for not knowing what the name of our room was… But I would advise not to use a travel agent. Ours was atrocious! Which is why we have not mentioned her name. I do believe if you use one of the silver sea travel agents you will be happy. You can also ask them what the name of our suite was if you show them the video.
Great video, we really enjoyed it and now we want to do that cruise. You said the cruise started in Seaward but you didn't say where it ended? Was it a round trip or did you travel back from a different port?
Love your video, thank you for posting. I hope you did ok with last year’s hurricane we love Naples, it’s our getaway destination from busy Orlando. My question we’re looking to book the door to door option with Silversea did your trip include the train journey from Anchorage to Seaward or was that a separate charge? Rose & Robbie
I’m headed on the Muse this January NZ to Sydney. Thanks for sharing your experience. I opted out of the door to door based on the outrageous mark up, I’m doing Port to Port. Flying business class from Baltimore, I was able to get multi segmented flight BWI to Auckland; Sydney to RSW (we winter in Ft Myers) for $9009 pp. It would’ve cost me $6,000 more with Silversea. I’m dealing directly with them on my booking. I have been watching videos. I’m not thrilled at the gastronomy it looks very unappealing. Too peculiar in taste. However, I’m excited about the small ship experience since I’m burned out on mainstream cruise line mega ships that nickel & Dime you. Having a butler will also be nice. If you think Alaska is great, you need to cruise 2 weeks up the coast of Norway……makes Alaska look like nothing. The Fjords, glaciers, & waterfalls are mouth dropping! The ports are wonderful culturally captivating. Cheers!
Wonderful testimony to the Silversea Cruise Line, and I am looking forward to our Alaska cruise with them in May! We went on a cruise with Oceania in January, where Oceania misplaced our luggage after we checked it in at the cruise terminal. They offered us 50% off in their already overpriced boutique, and that was it! Luckily they found the luggage after a day, but we will not book with them again.
Larry, did you like the deck level you choose? It appears in your video that you were on the 5th level. Just curious if you were to go ahead would you choose a different level. Thanks
Hi David. I liked the deck level. Lots going on right outside our door but also no noise in the room ever. We chose our level and room position because Kim gets motion sickness. Also talk to your travel agent about which side has the better views for length of your trip. Depending on which direction you’re heading you can have better views if you’re on the better side of the ship.
Hello Larry, great video. I am a Travel Consultant and I will like to share your video in my business page. Please let me know if I can. Do it. I sell mostly Seabourn, but your video is amazing. I been in Antartic and Artic, but never in Alaska. Beautiful well done video. Livia Revo. Travel Talk With Livi. BTW I am new in this business. Thank you.
We had a cruise with SS in 2019 and Bergonia (I think that is the correct spelling ??) was our customer service director and she was exemplary, we lost touch with her after Covid but would love to catch up with her again - do you have any contact details
Alright Larry - because of this video, my wife and I are booking Alaska and with Silversea. Thanks for sharing! :) #Believe
Great Evan. Have a great time, don’t forget hot chocolate room service on your balcony while watching Hubbard Glacier!
@@kimandlarrysluxuryadventures Did it yesterday - it was amazing :)
Same here!
Amazing. What top tier service and thoughtfulness. Thanks for the video. I need no more convincing, it's on the list.
Awesome! Say hello from Kim and Larry!
Thanks so much. I am, about to book this cruise because of your infectious enthusiasm and perceptive comments. All the way from Australia!
Hope you have a great time!!
That might be the best customer service story I've ever heard. Bravo to them.
It will certainly make us consider the line in the future.
Awesome!!
Fabulous video! Fellow Naples resident…you’ve completely convinced me - we’re going!!
Awesome. You will love it! Have a great time.

Thanks so much. It’s real. Had an awesome time!!
What a terrific vlog! And as an aside...I loved the shots back at home, I'm a Fort Myers native, and I miss it!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it. We live in Naples and are in Ft. Myers all the time.

Thank you for posting this. Was a great video and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures. What month did you sail to Alaska?
Hi Sally! We went in June. It was a great time of year. Thanks for the comments! Larry
June and there was so much snow? Why were the crew wearing masks?
Interesting--looks like you're walking around the Corkscrew Swamp talking about an Alaskan cruise! A very enjoyable video.
Very close! I filmed my narration at Gordon River Greenway in Naples. Glad you enjoyed the video… Larry

Silver Sea is great. I really hope Royal Caribbean does not change the Silver Sea way after the acquisition.

Thanks! We love Naples too. It was included and thank goodness we did the door-to-door! That’s what got us to Alaska when our flights got cancelled.

Wow. They misplaced it and only offered you 50% discount?!?! Not good hospitality. Have fun in Alaska!
Did you do the silversea charter train or the gold star service through Alaska railroad?
The he charter. Everyone on our train was heading to our cruise and it was an AMAZING 1st taste of Alaska!

Did Silversea eventually find your missing bag? How did it end?
Yes. They got it to us on the last day, it was all the fault of the airline. Silversea just kept an eye on them chasing the bag!

What dates did you sail?
We went late June 2022. Have fun if you go!
Fun video but inaccurate. No, not all suites have balconies. The Vista Suites on deck 4 are just windows.
Ahhh. Thank you for that information, I don’t know how we missed that. Will need to check into it.
Why are you sitting in a cage? I'd find that unbearably claustrophobic. Loved the video though, I've been on Regent but not Silversea
In SWFL we all have lanai’s. You never feel like you’re in a cage. They’re very big, and very open and never a mosquito. Glad you liked the episode!
