  • Pretty much the first train videos I ever took using my borrowed parents' VHS-C camera and tripod of a day at Marion, Ohio. Because VHS-C tapes only lasted 30 minutes on the standard speed I used the SLP speed to get 90 minutes of record time, which is the reason for the loud hiss in the audio and some of the visual jitter.

Nice, I was 10 around this time and it's about the time I started actually railfanning. I'd been into trains all my life up to then, but that was the first year my dad and I went on a few trips just to hang out by the tracks all day. Doesn't even seem like that long ago, but overall, there was a lot more variety in motive power back then.

You can't go wrong spending a day in Marion!
My first visit was summer of 1977.
    Just missed the EL.
