Was thinking the males ganged up on the alphas as well till you showed the holdover cichlid still in there. I love watching your maintenance of tanks, gives me numerous ideas. Thanks LRB
Lucas, I'm getting ready to move my fish from Nashville to Deep South Alabama (approximately 6 1/2 - 7 hr drive). It was recommended that I get individual totes to move my oscars (they are 8 yrs old and big). I think my smaller fish will be okay in either buckets or small totes. The rainbows will need a tote for sure since they are on the larger size. I'm planning to put an air stone with my oscars and the rainbows. I believe my smaller community fish will be okay without air. They are going to be in the back of a moving van. Does that sound reasonable to you? I'll keep their sponge filters in the totes too. I've got large tubs waiting in Alabama for fish. I'm planning to seed these with the used sponges. I'm also taking two 100 gallon stock tubs, a 50 gallon stock tub, and my 33 long and 40 gallon tanks. I considered putting all the community fish in a 100 gallon stock tub and only fill it a third of the way with water. That might work better. What do you think? I'm moving into my family home so I can help my Mom. I'm going to end up with four 100 gallon stock tubs, a 50 gallon pond, a 200 gallon gallvanized steel tub that is 6x2x2. I'll have a couple of tanks in the house (33 long, 40 gallon breeder, and standard 40 gallon). I"m really excited about getting out of the city and having space to keep fish.
The biggest trick with it and why it may be difficult to use the stick tub is you will want lids for your tote or tubs cause splashing will occur with the back and forth weight distribution. I moved mine without air and just made sure they had biologically sound water. Also if you can cover them and keep them dark it will make them sleep and more comfortable for their trip which helps with stress. Your approach with the totes sounds reasonable and what I did just make sure to keep dark and a lid. Less water is best.
Great video! I’m gonna be doing something similar with one of my tanks soon. Also that Molly tank looks really nice I’d love to see a video on it! Keep it up 👍

My dream home (other than a missile silo) is a large aerated concrete block (with natural wood interior) igloo cluster on an island in the Florida Keys.
I usually google black vinyl hose and find the best price for what length I want. They hold up really well. I used them at the old house too and also what I built my outflow system with.
I wanted to try your "yard work tank" experiment. Do you recommend using a 10gal minimum to prevent it being dirty and cloudy, or can I do a small scoop of weeds growing in dirt inside a large mason jar?
@@jasonmillwood2893 I think the one I got was from Aquashella and thought it was a guppy at first due to the blue tail as I had not seen it in a couple months (at least without the blue tail). Where are your ponds located?
Mine are in 170 TDS and breeding but I also have lime rock in with them. I’ve seen some people breed some in rainwater but doesn’t always work. But I would recommend anything over 200 TDS.
5:52 I thought you were teasing about covering up the plants with the net while repeatedly panning over to the soil sieve. You didn't cover the plants with the soil sieve. : (
You could setup one tank with Jordanella Floridae and feed them the hair algae from other tanks. I used to throw fist fulls of algae like that in a 55 full of a big colony of them and they would eat it all by the end of the day
Are you ever going to be selling any of the nuri crypt? I'm getting a decent collection. I have spiralis, Becketti, your affinis, lucens, parva, pontederiifolia, wenditi
Those are both good choices and easy for beginner. The wisteria likes to grow more up and out and makes lots of roots for breeding. Grows fast and big. Guppy grass can grow fast but is more manageable imo.

This was a masterclass in netting fish calmly.
Great update. Thanks for always sharing the reality of fish keeping
I always love seen your aquariums, its so relaxing to see 😊

Youre setup is awesome I am so jelouse.
Thanks bro! Glad to see you on here :)
Haha, those dumbbells on the floor are exactly the sort of thing I'd do, and then I'd go flying with a bucket full of tank water 😂
I get some of my best reps from carrying buckets of things 😄
Excellent illustration of your process 🙏
Haha no way you found that fish murderer at the end, love these fish room adventures!
I was torn to add something along those lines in the title 😄

Your videos have inspired me with my ideas in my fish room mate. Love your work.
Glad to hear it! 🙏

Did you see her moving in the plants? You can just barely see her hovering in that small open spot.
Always watching and supporting from my igloo 😂❤
Thanks😄 try to stay warm up there!

You can do it at any scale you would like too
10:34 No babies, no babies, no babaies, CRUNCH! You got the Whammy.
Lol no babies in the tank
Great video!! Have you kept any Florida Salfin mollies? Males get a beautiful blue tail when spawning
I haven’t. They are cool but they do need decent size tank and space.

What Plants is best and plant Guppy grass....Wysteria...???plant lover butnew to planted tsnks

I was sure to check for rainbow eggs and babies while getting water from their tank for my plants ❤
What is massive plantgrowh in your Rare Rainbow Fishank
Algae
What fish type you Moving??
Rainbowfish, ricefish, cichlids? And eventually more.
You should build yourself a little divider out of net material for situations like this probably pretty inexpensive
I should have said for when you were trying to keep the fish from heading into the crypts
You made that look easy😁☮❤🐠🦐🪴

Crazy I can’t grow guppy grass to save my life, indoor outdoor with ferts good lighting, it doesn’t matter it dies every time 😅
Weird got to be something. Have you tried no filter?
