    An in-depth look at our outside guppy ponds at the AZ location. We have over 20 varieties and thousands of guppies in this 10x70 setup designed to fit the needs of the breeder. Almost all of these guppies also have indoor aquariums that fish are raised in as well.
    Our guppies are fed a diet of baby brine shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and the highest quality flaked foods.
    Our plant selection is a carefully chosen collection of aquatic plants that are particularly suited for shrimp and guppy habitats and breeding. All plants are easy to propagate and do not require, but benefit from Co2.

    All the blue strains are the most beautiful in my opinion. Especially those iridescent BLUE S and aqua blue greens! 💙

    Hello! I’m located in AZ too and due to an explosion of fish population, I recently picked up a good size patio bowl for outside. Do you think my guppies could survive outside in the AZ climate too?

    • @BishopAquatics
      @BishopAquatics  4 месяца назад +1

      Its not that hard here! You just need a heater for a couple months during the cold parts of winter. That mostly runs at night when the temps drop. During the 100-120 parts of summer you want a small usb fan to cool it.

    Sweet video! Wish I could do this but it gets way too cold in MN.

      Thank you! It's definitely restricted to seasonal or select climate for the outside ponds; luckily we have inside aquariums!

    So awesome. Do you have any kind of heater? How could is outside in the winter?
    I findo this to be so awesome that i want to replicate.

    • @BishopAquatics
      @BishopAquatics  Год назад +2

      Heaters are used in the cold months, fans in the warm. It gets down to 30ish and as high as 120, we keep it between 72-85 depending on the time of year.

      @@BishopAquatics The lowest temperatures are very similar of what i get here, the highest here are usualy around 104 so I would probably need the heaters and fans too.
      Thank you so much, I will keep following you to check of what are you up to.

    Goals right here!!!! I got 4 strains and 5 more coming. I’m setting up tubs like these as well but I was going with 17 gal totes. Any thoughts? Should I use bigger? It’s still cold here in socal so I’m waiting to set them up.

      We've done 17s before, they work good, but can get a little crowed quickly. The big upside is they're easy to work with!

    • @BishopAquatics
      @BishopAquatics  3 месяца назад

      Do you have a heater? It gets pretty cold out here at night for a 2-3 month period in the winter. You'll want a heater at least at night for winter, and a fan for july-sep

    • @BishopAquatics
      @BishopAquatics  3 месяца назад +1

      Gotcha, well, I would invest in a cheap laser thermometer (or whatever) to make sure it isn't getting too cold. To help with the temps in winter, you could also cover the top of it with something windproof to help keep in daytime heat and eliminate wind chill. If it ends up being near impossible because of temperature reasons there are some species that do just fine in our weather here naturally.

    How do you control the inbreeding?

    • @BishopAquatics
      @BishopAquatics  Год назад +2

      Start with a decent size population (hopefully not too inbred), separate and keep separated for a few generations, then introduce fish between tanks.
