Apple just dropped the new 14" and 16" M1 Pro and M1 Max a week after this video! So, what are your thoughts, do you think it's a worthy upgrade?

Hello. I saw that you have used a webcam cover, can you tell us where to buy it because it seems thin and probably the screen will not break.
Just my own speculative prediction: Chip makers that insist on using x86 far into the future will have trouble keeping up with ARM chip makers due to x86 being a much less efficient architecture compared to ARM. The thermal issues will present themselves as too much of a barrier to innovation for improving the performance of x86 chips. ARM will dominate for most use cases and maybe x86 will linger along for some more niche applications until it becomes economically infeasible for x86 chip makers to manufacture chips for a vanishingly small customer base.
No because Apple still refuses to offer touch and pen support to their Mac or a usable OS to do things on their iPad. But who knows, maybe in again 10 years deom now...

Just changed my MacBook Pro intel i5 from 2018 to this M1. It’s been amazing so far, the difference between the two is ridiculous.
Currently I am using MacBook Pro M1 8GB RAM 256 SSD it is more than enough ,battery life , speed , I am mobile app developer I do use android studio and it works perfectly I see no point in purchasing new upcoming Macs so I decided to stay with my Mac until next year . Great video I like it .

Owning an M1 MacBook Pro (8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, Space Gray) for nine months now. Up until today, I'm still blown away by the performance and power efficiency. By far the most satisfying piece of tech I've ever owned!
Did you face any display issues like flex gate?

Thanks for the follow up review. Havent had a computer in 8 years and decided to get a refurb model from Apple with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM. Only $1,106 with my military discount. Tried the M1 Air but am returning it. Played Civilization 5 and it was getting extremely hot so I figured I needed the fan.

Love your work, my good sir. I am actually waiting on the M1x //m2 updates. there was an issue that was mentioned previously where the 8gb ram wasn't enough in the mac and as a result, the SSD was used as "Cache / Ram". if this is true, it would suck up so much of the IOPs of the SSD's wouldn't it? My mum is an artist and upon my recommendation, she got the 16gb version.
“M1”. I was waiting for the new MacBook Pro rumoured for next month. But after watching this video I got the base model M1 Pro for 15% off on a eBay Tuesday sale.

Personally, I own a Macbook pro M1, and with my school works and every editing stuffs runs well and smoothly, though it does get hot sometimes. Overall, it's a great machine in its price range and outperforms most other machines. For students and casual users, I would say don't wait for the M1X, because it's highly-priced and has an extreme performance which isnot needed, you shall be fine with the M1 for the next 4-6 years I would expect. Thanks for the vid anyway, very useful!!

Awesome video man! Definitely been having weird bluetooth issues sometimes. Its crazy you mentioned that. I thought I was the only one! Been very odd bluetooth issues since day 1. I find issues with all the devices I connect from time to time including AirPods max, Beats fit pro, Logitech mx 2s mouse, and even a Magic Mouse sometimes. Very odd.

The new October event should be quite crazy! I've had the same laptop for years now and really wnat to see what Apple has in store. Even the M1 now would be perfect for all the AI and PS work I do but interested in what's released but good to know the M1 is still a strong contender if I need to save the bennys.
The M1 should be a significant leap if your laptop is a few years old, but a good idea to hold off and weigh your options with the upcoming releases

Good review! And the Macbook m1 is amazing. Unfortunately, my pro has developed an exploded pixel after only 2 months of use. So i have to send it for repair.
Still using my 2016 MBP every day and it's been great for me the last 5 years - excited to see what the new M1x Pros are like over the coming weeks; definitely think it could be time for an upgrade!! Great vid btw man :)

Even my wireless earphones keep disconnecting often with my M1 Macbook Air, but no issues with my iPhone. Will they fix the Bluetooth issue anytime soon for the Mac?
I definitely still have issues with response time on my Logi MX Master 3 (non-mac version), and that sucks. But this machine is still soo good!
whats the battery max capacity after 1 year? mine went down to 92% in just 44 cycles of charging
I am thinking of getting the new 14k inch, although I don't need that power it will be nice to have the ports, and will last me years to come, at the moment I still have the MacBook Pro 2012

Good review! although I'm little suprised that you have a webcam protector over the screen as apple not recommend to use it because it can crack the screen
what brightness level are you using the laptop at to get that kind of battery life?
M1 - I have a MacBook Pro from early 2015 - still going strong - but have been looking to buy a new Macbook Air M1 - but now with the announcement about the M1X, I might wait & see what the price point is for that. Great content by the way.

Nice review. Hope I can get my own macbook for my online teaching. It’s quite pricey and my salary is not too much but I’ll do my very best to save to get one.
I've bought my M1 MacBook Air at last month. So far most of the softwares are able to be used. Just a little tricky issue that I'm facing is the Safari having bugs on unexpected quit if I wanna add websites to Bookmark, and Safari's trasition between current page and previous page seems not really smooth too. My M1 Mac Air until now still having bluetooth connectivity issues. May I know is this hardware or software issue??
And Lastly, hope this little issues can be solved in the future. Thank you.
I’ve had Bluetooth issues even on the MacBook Pro 16” 2019, not terrible but they do show up from time to time.
Does your M1 has scaled display options available with the 21:9 aspect ratio monitor?
My preferred product is still the MacBook Air and pro…but i have aligned with more work i am on an IPAD pro. 11” but it is not too bad of a product. I would like to get a new Apple Watch as well for sure.

I was surprised by the comment about the Bluetooth conectivity issues, I haven't ran into any issue with that, having a magic keyboard, magic mouse and airpods pro connected at the same time almost everyday. Maybe is a problem with compatibility with other brands?

Hi Andrew, i was trying to find where on the mbp m1 it shows how many hours it has been used? My old panasonic toughbook logs the total runtime hours in the BIOS, but i cant find an equivalent on the mbp m1. How did you get the 3000+ hours figure?

What are you saying! The magic keyboard is so shallow that it hurts my fingers! The Lenovo and Dell XPS 17 keyboard is amazing!
The connectivity problem might caused from the charging dock. Try it without the dock connection.

And as you probably found out by now the M2 was an incremental improvement with some SSD issues on the base models and thermal issues because of over clocking. So continue to hold on to your M1’s and see what the M3’s will have in the future

It's not useful it is annoying actually, so I'm going with M3 when it comes out this year.

I think its an awesome laptop to work with as a student, everything is really fast. I am really hyped for the new release next Monday I don't think I'll upgrade but lets see lol

hellooo i need a second opinion here. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro that has been working up whenever I do research. I’m a high school student that writes a lot of essays that requires research, does online lessons on a website and sometimes use GarageBand. Mostly when i have around 13 tabs open the fans start running rly loudly, the laptop heats up so much and starts being extremely laggy.I usually don’t have anything else open besides safari/ chrome and the app i use to write my essays which is mostly pages or words.
I have been thinking of upgrading to either the M1 MacBook Air/ Pro.
What do you think? Thank you!

I don't experience any sort of connectivity issues on M1 MacBook pro so far. even while using my Logitech BT mouse(mx master 2s), BT Keyboard(K480) and Airpod Pro.

hi, buddy i have just purchased a m1 air and the battery life doesent last longer than 5-6 hours of constantly watching youtube. is this a fault in the machine should i take it back? plus skipping forward or backwards in youtube there is a little delay before playing again this doesent happen on my works m1 air's

The connectivity issue is in the software update. The same is happening with my Intel macbook pro 13". So I was watching all these 1 year later reviews to go buy the M1 macbook pro and trade this one in. I know the Pro max has come out, but most certainly can't afford it!

Just connect your mouse to Logitech Unifying Receiver and connection will improve significantly
The problem with the MacBook compared to the mini is the lifetime of the processor. When the cpu reaches its inevitable end of life you’ll have to replace the entire system. When the same thing happens to the mini you just replace the mini and not it’s associated peripherals like the monitor. If you don’t need the portability get a mini based system, otherwise get a MacBook. The same limitations with the MacBook also apply to the iMac. Except with the iMac you don’t get portability. Of course the iMac is pretty to look at.

hi does your Mac open with a single hand mine doesn't its just 5 days old and will the hinges loosen up overtime and my bezel where MacBook Air written on its right side when I look closely It moves a bit back when I press will it get a problem overtime
my Macbook Air's hinge was stiff like yours at first took about 2 weeks to loosen and now it opens perfectly with one hand.

M1 bluetooth with mouse still an issues for me and most of M1 users I know. Solution is using Apple magic mouse or magic trackpad. It seems apple kinda force us to buy their mouse.
But Keyboard, TWS Earphones, there are no problem.
I just received my second hand Macbook Pro M1 16gb 2Tb.. loving the upgrade in the speed compared to my 2019 i9 mbpro with 32gb ram. i actually bought the air but they shipped a pro by mistake ... im not saying anything :))

i’m getting my first ever Macbook M1, but which one should i get: M1 Macbook Air with 16gb ram or the base model of M1 Macbook air with 8gb ram?
Im going to use it for school....word, excel, powerpoint, Discord, browsing, Netflix and youtube.
With all that you mentioned, the base model should be fine. If with an extra budget and an attempt to future-proof it a bit, 16GB would be a great option.

so you have been sitting at your mac more than 9 hours a day every single day including weekends, holidays, christmas, birthday, on order to reach the claimed 3000 hours in 330 days since the day one apple introduced it.
but wait it's probably more than that since you have used it for full year while the rest of us only got first glance 11 months ago.

I get 8 hours a day of screen on time on my iPad and I don’t even use it for work most of the day
@@MylesKillis so you do so every single day whether you're sick or on vacation, busy ... also that guy got an extra month of usage on the laptop that was released less than 11 months ago.
also a quick note if you want to review something after using it for X hours those are better not be mostly watching videos on it.
