    Its bice to see a dyno graph of the difference. That 2 extra hp does help. Being in the US I put a Stay Tune exhaust on and I did notice a difference.
    I live in hilly country and I notice my RE classic pulled better on the hills. Thanks for the info!!

    Just replaced the whole system ( silencer and exhaust pipe ) for this goldstar one. I am very happy with the switch, so there come my observations:
    It is quite on the noisy side when you rev it up. It is very easy to replace silencers/mufflers as it is just a one screw fix piece, but usually just one gear up and you can cruise 30 mph without being too noisy, so no neighbors complaining. When you do rev it tho, it is like chariots of hell unleashed. Sound is very good tho.
    The graphs show an increase of around 4hp with the whole system replaced, which seems about right. What you might feel even more is the torque, which I felt it increased a lot! I also have the stock EFI, and there is no popping or weirdness going on, so that is a relief
    The exhaust pipe does include a drilled hole for the oxygen sensor and fits wonderfully. I got the curved one from those guys, as the fall protectors and while it was a tight fit before, now it goes much better.
    There is a huge difference in wight and diameter between the stock and aftermarket systems, just because of that I recommend the swap. Removing a good bunch of weight and leaving the poor machine to breathe is not a bad thing!

      Sir how load is the outcome of the replacement? Is it legal in your place because over here in India police will chop the aftermarket silencers if they are loud

    • @Vlad-1986
      @Vlad-1986 3 года назад +1

      @@imochasingh6875 It is louder, but it is not super loud. Any 600cc sports motorbike is way louder. The removable silencer really works.
      That say, if you buy it, don't throw the old one, just in case, because I don't know how strict they are in India.
      Ah, at one point, the bracket that holds the exhaust in place broke, so mind that, maybe you want to put a metal plaque or something to reinforce it!

    Hoping an exhaust comes out for the 2019 Bullet Trials soon. So new there's nothing out there as it doesn't use the pillion peg as an exhaust hanger (frame mounted).

    Thank you for this. It settles a few questions raised in the Forum for me. Out of interest, have you ever considered a back-to-back dyno test of the low restriction engine pipes Part No. 91085/91086/91092 with the standard silencer? Finding a low-restriction silencer I like the lines of for my 2020 Trials Replica has become an...interesting pastime.

    What were the dyno results? It's difficult to see the numbers

      I can't really make out which line is which. I can guess but I can't distinguish the colour of the lines and the caption.

    How does the "Silencer with long inlet" (91080B) compare with the "Goldstar"? I like your test results and the sound, but prefer the Old school looks of the 91080B.

      Hi Karsten, the 91080 type silencer gives very similar results to this Goldstar, both have been specially designed for this model of bike

    Is this silencer legal here in England ? Like is the noise an issue, i was thinking of getting a short bottle silencer

    The looks and sound alone justify the purchase. I'm confused about the HP ratings... the advertised HP is much higher than the 20 I see on this graph. Looks like peak power is at about 4,300 RPM, correct?

    • @HitchcocksMotorcycles
      @HitchcocksMotorcycles  6 лет назад +7

      Hi Steve, HP is a very subjective topic. The advertised HP that the manufacturer states will be recorded directly at the engine, of course it is not uncommon for this to be on the higher side to begin with. What you are seeing here is a chassis dyno measuring HP at the rear wheel which will always be substantially lower as there are losses through transmission, chain, tyre etc. Its also to be expected that one dyno will have some variance between the next so the most reliable way is to have before and after results on the same dyno to use as a comparison.
      Yes you would be correct with peak power being around 4300-4500rpm.

    Is the gold star suitable for 2017 euro 4 classic 500? Would it need a power commander ?

    • @HitchcocksMotorcycles
      @HitchcocksMotorcycles  7 лет назад +4

      Hi Paul, yes this silencer can be fitted to a 2017 Euro4 Classic 500, the part number you would need to order for your bike is: 91150B. You do not need to fit a Power Commander for use with this silencer. Hope this helps

      Hi Paul, I'm no expert on ECU's, but I saw this very informative video of a Powertronics ECU (much cheaper than a Power Commander) fitted to a lightly modified RE500 Classic (Goldstar exhaust and K&N filter)...the results were amazing, especially on Map2! Although I'm a year too late, here's the video...ruclips.net/video/yTABj9nGGKA/видео.html Cheers from Mitch

    It is such a sorry State of Affairs that when you buy a new motorcycle you pay for an exhaust system That's Heavy with catalytic converter front and rear, and then you go and you buy another system that's much lighter sounds better but meanwhile you're still paying for the first United paying for two exhaust systems. Today's motorcycles are a collection of government regulations on two wheels. Such a shame motorcycles should not have any pollution controls on them whatsoever. Motorcycle should not have to atone for the stupidity of people having cars.
